  1. C'est rendu au point où il y a pratiquement n'importe quand quelqu'un au foonzo qui connait assez guilty gear pour aider though.
  2. 13/06 update Started working on the drill management and pressure. The old will stay there until I'm done reworking it according to TD's suggestions 14/06 More stuff added in the drill maintenance/rewards section. Gosh this thing'll be long. 17/06 Added all the 6D reset setups 19/06 Finished level 1 section for now, other ones shouldn't be as long. 6D segment being too big
  3. Shoutouts to Pierre Malouf AKA CrankyPunk AKA MTL Street fighter director and stream provider who I once heard say before joining dustloop and playing Arcsys games : "I'm not good enough as a competitive player to be a direct contribution to the scene, so this is my only way of doing so." Paraphrased, but wise words
  4. Maybe this is more personal advice here as I experienced it during the last 3 months with Venom, but try aiming for 1 thing and 1 thing only. It's pretty easy to start seeing the assets you miss as a player or for your character (I don't have a strong knockdown game, my footsies are not on point, I don't optimize my damage, etc.) and lose yourself in what you could do to improve your game. If you just set yourself a goal to improve one thing over say a month, 2 weeks, a day or w/e, you'll notice the improvement much faster and that's just much more motivating to keep going. For instance, I wanted to improve my pressure game with venom so I went from practicing simple knockdowns into 2-4 basic oki setups. Then after getting the hang of making you block on wakeup, I realized I pretty much had a 50-50 shit High or low mixup and that my offense ended there if you blocked it. Pochp brings it up to me and he says, you should try and force the guy to block longer, it'll rack up his guard gauge, it makes the player stressed and it keeps them guessing when the actual mixup might be coming allowing you altogether to make him respect you more. I ended up finding ways to extend pressure via overhead or change the timing at which I want to either TK an overhead, grab you or go low. From there, I've been able to get a flashing guard bar MUCH MORE consistently than before. It's even up to the point that I start to see players burst out of my blockstrings ffs. That's where I stand right now, I'm starting to be aware my pressure makes some player want to counter assault me or burst out of it. Now I need to do something about that. My other alternative goal is that I can make you block, but have trouble applying pressure while confirming combos. That means I jack up the guard gauge, but can't convert this counter hit into a 50+% combo yet. I also found a third goal which would be to convert more of my starters into knockdown that leads to reliable oki or convert the knockdowns I already do into maybe more elaborate setups. Choice is mine. The whole point of that example is to not to show that I'm good, but that I solely tunnel visioned improving one asset of my gameplay : My Venom pressure and knockdown game. The original goal of improving becomes much more linear and refined over the weeks and it's easier to see and focus on what's next in this process. I'm also happy that my understanding of pressure also became much more vast and rich in general. I wouldn't say complete, but I definitely see it differently than 4 months ago. Mind you, my neutral, movement and defense, matchup experience and knowledge probably did not improve so much, but if I knock you down, I have a stronger plan now even outside of Guilty gear. Or like Jimmy Bones commented when watching me play recently (paraphrasing, I can't recall the actual words) : "Your offense is pretty tight, but for fuck's sake you can't block". Whatever, I'm not focusing on that at the current time nor do I wish to at the current time. I feel that when you start saying "I should improve this too", you just remind yourself that you're not at the level you want or wish to be at. I know I find it demotivating to some extent as you can't obtain those lacking assets right away. Everything in due time. This post da gawd
  5. Mon Goh t'éclate (how do I 3D fighter)
  6. I'm gonna probably run the order for BBCP import by the end of this month. I havn't updated this thread in ages, but I just want people to notice and report if they want to be a part of this bulk order. Playing all these doujin games and waiting for CP, would you guys be down to play some Virtua Fighter or some shit? Aaaaah nerves, this one is mostly lots of grinding sadly. Be in this stressful situation enough that you shrug it off
  7. Still debating coming over to Trois-riviere or not, most likely not. Pay my gas and you might have a second car coming :mrbiscuits:
  8. We went to the top of the stadium's tower and saw that there was chairs and a room locked. We figured it was possible to rent the place. Top 8 on top of montreal, entry fee is 1000+$ to pay for the venue rental. This is broadcasted on local television. Hyyyype

This shoutout post for taking a whole evening to do. Why do I bother fuuuuuuuuuck
  10. It's ok, let's do this barfight thing when hotel prices are not through the roof because of the biggest event of the year in town. that being UMAD obviously, grand prix is nothing :3 Or you guys could come to Gore if that ever happens (a house closer to ottawa than MTL where we could gather to play games) That'd be probably twice as cheap for still some good fun.
  11. LiveWire, are you still taking the offer for the hotel? I never had a clear cut "Yes I'm coming" but rather more a "That'd be cool". It's most likely floor space though, let me know so I can send to you some info about it tonight
  12. I just wanna say, the build up for UMAD this past week has been perfect. Shoutouts to the new blood, shoutouts to the supernova, shoutouts to running tournaments, shoutouts to HYPE
  13. Thank you for reminding me of this video again Hope most of you can somehow understand
  14. I wouldn't be surprised at the idea of a summer mix pack Feat. Both Éphèmère and the new one for whole summer long. Plus, on their site, they've been talking about mixology in february's news. It more or less adds up together. It'd be hype
  15. Looking at their website, facebook and twitter, I see none of this. Since summer is close, they might release a summer mix pack including it and drop support for the spring one. Where did you hear this?
  16. Throwing the idea out there to see who can make or break. This is nothing final. Gore à la St-Jean ?? Extended weekend avec le congé??
  17. I know Amane could have gotten a unblockable Gekiren in this scenario, but that barrier depletion setup into gratuitous chip damage was godlike http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBhiIuZhmG8&feature=youtu.be&t=9m6s.
  18. I had and still have the same issue with BB since my character isn't in this version nor did I want to invest myself into something that'll go away and all feels worthless. I was wrong. BB has a lot of specific stuff that you can get used to and that would carry over in another BB title. I'm a BBCSEX noob, but even if I just played BB slightly without overcommiting, I'm already aware that Air Barrier blocking, techs and rolls, Throw reject miss, probably more are part of BB and will remain a part of BB. Just playing for fun and becoming aware of these could help you focusing on other things when the new game's here. It's win-win, you don't have to bother learning 2 games in details and you get to play rather than wait 5 months. Plus, Ragna takes barely any effort to get started with if you just want to grasp what BB feels like. If you just play lightly, you won't have to bother learning what specifics define BBCSEX and you may even choose to apply a certain filter for these so you can just stop bothering. Stuff like combo optimization, the guard primer system, gold bursts, etc. etc.
