  1. Hmmm I see your point but the things is that j.B has a deceptively big hurt box, I can understand why the players would refrain from using it as much as they did on week 1. You can react to an approach like that, but you can also condition the other player to believe you will :P
  2. Actually a side melty tourney could be well deserved. The big plus is that it doesn't take away any potential tourney setup
  3. I disagree for a very simple reason, you'll overheat. You'll get your 1 combo and that'll be it. Sure, tons of damage and maybe it'll be worth it in the end, but the mid game becomes scary because you have the threat to do damage without even having to outsmart your opponent's defense. Literally, you don't have to bother as much as for smart pressure and it boils down to whether or not you can bait your opponent DP or not. Look at the MU matches, he just goes trigger happy when he can and it matters not if she got hit or blocked, and that's how he won.
  4. Combos? I was more under the impression that when you intend to drill, it matters not whether your opponent blocks or not. I think that's the mentality to adopt regarding his drill skills, at least I'll try so. Remove the barrier of mixups and string pressure, you have chip pressure forcing their choices to a very limited set of options when on the defensive. What the hell is a mixup? I get 20% on block! Moi je vous comprendrais aussi. But I think it'd be better to stick to english in the threads lol
  5. I read my fanfiction about you and Izayoi everyday :st1ckbug:
  6. That or mid-day Schwartz. It's not too far from foonzo even at walk distance. That smoked meat, that atmosphere. There's quite nothing like eating there feeling like you've known the employees forever even though it's your first time. Here's a better example, I went there and some japanese tourists were visiting that famed joint for a take-out order and the guy serving them was all like "I love your products, I have a Sony Playstation 3" and he mimes himself playing with a controler to make sure they get it. That joint is pure magic.
  7. Yeah but his attacks have so many frames that if you dodge them entirely, I'm fucked in many ways.
  8. The layer of deepness of that post is unparallaled. A true metaphor of our whole society as whole.
  9. If amane hits drill level 3, it doesn't matter if you block or not. Can't wait :3
  10. http://youtu.be/lhxNjEcoav4?t=6m8s Notice how j.5C CH lifts the guy. This is such a good reward. J.5C fab hop back j.2C should link I assume, j.5C fabhop fwd combos and j.5C fabhop is actually decent pressure on block.
  11. I wanna get the maximum out of this event since it'll be local. I might even consider taking a day off before/after. If any of the out-of-towners plan on doing shit OUTSIDE of the tourney, let me know and I would gladly join you (with the the 99,9% chance of having a car in the process)
  12. In the ragna video, you can see why the j.B gameplan falls apart. http://youtu.be/DcymtAzMtZc?t=11m54s I think that unless properly spaced (tip of the scarf angled down), the hurtbox is deceptively worse than you can imagine. I'm assuming though that at this range and height, you're better off using j.2C or j.2B. Both are light combo openers and are most likely anti-air baits since j.2B changes air trajectory as well as j.2C. Though J.2C can be done from a safe distance. But I was wondering why j.2B fell apart so fast. That's the answer: Requires a much precise range Not a lot of hitstun, seems hard to get from j.5B to a ground string while remaining a true blockstring
  13. No hard feelings, I was just so mindfucked ;_;
  14. This Was a reply to this It was a very confusing series of post to me. Assumed it was trolling of some sort (especially with those icons). Guess I'm wrong then, but the replies still didn't make sense... Mad is in june and the only thing we have in january is Nemesis... Also, I'm pretty sure I could work out some help with the driving around town too. I'm also pondering if I actually sleep at the hotel or take the 1 hour drive to go home that weekend :S
  15. Yo I was thinking about this since I'll actually end up being free on the said date. Didn't you guys want to do a christmas something tournament?
  16. More like... really... that bad of a troll?
  17. Aussi, tu peux aller signup si t'est intéressé sur sankishin.com/board. Une fois que t'est logged in, ya un chat dans lequel on hang out.
  18. ... really? The guys play CS extend on ps3 and we're all able to speak both languages or at least everyone can manage english with ease. EDIT: Je viens juste de voir les posts de Bibi -,-. Also, c'est normal au début. 2d fighters ain't easy, especially when you play against guys who've been playing the same game since it's been out.
  19. I don't think it's because it's bad though, I think it's because certain matchups won't allow you to be able to freely use it. If you take a look at amane matches where they use it a lot, you'll notice that most of the time amane gets hit or loses control of the match is when j.B fails. When you are faced with a matchup or a player that can deal with that j.B gameplan, you're forced to learn how to deal without it. It's like some of the guys who played the japanese at blazblue during NEC. They were saying that they're so used and conditionned to mixups that you feel you can't use it on them, so you have to beat them using something else. if jump.B is good but they condition themselves quickly on beating it efficiently so early in the lifespan of the game, then it's most likely the explanation as for why you might not see it that much. Or maybe only during certain matches. Oh and I assume it's also due that they've gotten more efficient at using the drill and if your levels are up, your gameplan changes.
  20. I've been thinking about how Amane's super complements his playstyle. You see, you will be pushed back into the corner often because of the character's playstyle and backwards fabhop. His super is the only reversal and puts you behind the opponent making it efficient not only at getting out of the pressure, but also of the corner. I've been wondering though, do you actually go behind your opponent on block too? Because if that would be the case, then even if you miss the super and eat the punish, you'll have to force them into a mid-screen corner carry combo. Might be worth thinking of the super as more than just a reversal but as a viable trade to get out of corner. At least very early on in the game's life span.
  21. Yes, but MAD > Nemesis as Nemesis is a general tourney with multiple games while MAD is just our games and just that. If you can only make it to one, make it to MAD. If you can make it to both, then move along and see you in january :P
  22. Global warming, our planet is destroying itself and there's only one solution:
  23. If you're like more black than a regular black is, it sort of cancels itself out and they'll let you in no problem
  24. I see you've seen my notes for my advanced guide.
