Montreal: Le Thread Generale Pour Weeaboo Fighters

And I don't even know if this would be possible without drill 3 as properties might change, we don't know for sure. So to get to drill 3, I'd need to build that drill first and at that point, I can just kill you with a regular combo. This is really just combo video material and potential showcase. Though overdrive into that super is pretty scary. -

It shouldn't be that bad and there will most likely be revisions. And I mean... I can't picture getting the following : Drill level 3, corner, 100 meter, overdrive, j.D combo opener... -
Well in a way you still can play a full screen game, maybe not just with projectiles. Because the ground drills are not one single special. You need to enter his stance and then choose where to lay them. It feels like it's a tool you'll slip by your opponent every once in a while (besides on knockdowns) to remind them you have it. About zoning, the scarf/knots © attacks look amazing as you can convert them into a combo if they hit. This means you'd still win or at least be at an advantage while at fullscreen. And in the mid screen game, you have great normals that push back the opponent to the range of your C attacks. Combine that with your command dash to have further control on your spacing and you can zone/space out like a boss. This is mostly an analysis of his design on paper though. Dunno how that translates in practice Yes, it did throw him back in the corner, but there was enough space in between amane and the wall for that to happen. I'm still not convinced it does it guaranteed.

Yes, this gives us quite a great use for excess meter, it should still be fairly damaging even without drill 3. Also, from j.5D (if I'm not mistaken), you can combo into your drill normals. That combo answered so many unanswered questions

Well well well, look what SKD posted in the amane thread: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JODfdqU204&feature=youtu.be -
And the best part is that the running animation annoys some people, so it's a built-in taunt combo
-
The more I think about it, the more it feels like Amane's main goal is to frustrate the opponent. Floaty movement and attacks with weird blockstun or hit sounds, dressing like a girl with an aggressive male voice, long range harass, annoying amount of active frames and chip damage. Amane's scarf has a hitbox at the knot only. Not the whole length Drills can be held for I believe up to 3 seconds (all of them, including normals), ground drills can stay active while you move. Since you need to hold the button to keep them active, no I believe you can't have more than one at the same time. And they seem to be pretty bad zoning tools because of their fixed distance. Also, if you hit amane, they disappear I believe they charge the same amount on hit/block, but double check that statement More than honored, be my guest

Everyone's gay for ... I mean

Lots of stuff to check here. At 55 seconds, it looks like 5B > 5D isn't a true block string (which would be cheap) You can see at 1:25 he hits the opponent with the second hit of a C move. Notice how long azrael is stuck in blockstun Also on another related note. If you center your gameplan around your drive meter, what do you use meter for? Supers I assume would be very good for finishing off opponents and that's it... but considering drive attacks build so much meter, you'd get infinite amount of counter assaults and other meter usage lol. Also, I'm thinking about it, if you play a drive management game, how much does getting combo'ed or getting hit would lower your drive gauge? Once again, thanks again bedsheets

Thanks a whole lot for sharing the wealth man. It's appreciated for us Gaijins Wait for a tager vs Amane match or something like that. First thing our local tager player asked me is if he could go through that way. That property would define certain matchups lol.

Time to grind dat ABA yo. -
And do ALL drills move have to start from that stance, or only some of them like the ground drill? Thanks for the heads up btw.
-
That is pretty cool, though on retrospect of my statement. I wonder if you can even cancel normals if they hit just carl's sister. My example I showed was that, might not be the case. Unless his C attacks would be cancellable on hit only... which I'd doubt :S. In any case, since they are cancelable, this would be your threat for full screen mixups. Get them in blockstun with C and then you have 3 options Command dash to overhead Something else that would make you move close to do a low move Cancel into your drill stance If you condition your opponent to believe you'll do one action, he'll be expecting it and reacting to it. But it's a win for you since, overhead dash is a block reaction from the other or DP. If he does that while you drill stance, since he'll be waiting and anticipating something else, you can slip it by easily/bait normals. Now, I don't know the extent of the drill stance, what does it do exactly? Does it charges up the drill or does it only gives you access to drill related specials? Need more info here on my side as I dunno bout it.

http://youtu.be/hLY2BRMrLNE?t=10m0s Correct me if I'm wrong, but here he does at the beginning a C move followed by a CMD dash. From the looks of it, it doesn't look like it was cancelled, but it looked he did the dash post-recovery. I'm assuming the C moves might not be cancelable into w/e we want them to be. Other than that, when you activate overdrive and reach level 3 drill, does it reset after overdrive or stays at 3? Because if it stays, I'd always start second rounds with overdrive and just gain instant decent drill level. If you're at 0 meter and you can just gain 25 for 1 blockstring and 10%, it's gonna be scary.

I guess it's a lot of getting used to just to begin with. I don't feel my hand truly hovers above the buttons, I actually rest my hand in a palm position with only my joints hovering above buttons and with my fingers resting on the top 3 buttons. Unless I have a terrible memory of something that only feels natural at this point to me, that's how I do it. -

It's a small scale. If we have 8 players or so, I try and do a weekly freeby tourney for fun. If people just want casuals, then I don't run shit. 8 to 12 man tourneys are fairly simple and smooth to run. I'm not really burning myself since all the effort I put in these tourney is running the bracket lol. -

I'd willingly run you a bracket (free tourney) for BB either this thursday/sunday/tuesday if you're all up for it. Been a while since I ran BB for you guys besides last sunday. Also, last one I'd run before NEC. Gonna stay cozy on thursday evening and sleep well. -

My memory sucks regarding this, but: Me, pochp, brice, kirbster, kaeru, bibiquadium, samthegreat, nedel, sophisticat and I'm definitely missing one -,- We're nine on that roadtrip and kaeru's going on it's own/by plane if I recall correctly. Sorry for the one left out of my memory -

Your budget? maybe one detail wasn't specified in my walls of text, but when we discussed that idea, we also talked about counting that fee in the gas pool. Everyone would pay their share of what that bus ride would cost. Might just end up with an extra 10-15$ for this :P or as I specified earlier, I can help with $$$ issues if it's just to make things easier so long as I'm not being overgenerous about it. -

If this info is correct http://www.greyhound.ca/en/locations/terminal.aspx?city=111252 , then it's pretty much at Berry-UQAM. Sounds pretty neat -

I don't want to come off as imposing, but I really don't mind pushing a little extra money to make sure everyone can go. For instance, Bibi jumps in last minute so long as someone pays the trip and he gives the money back the week after. Stuff like that isn't a problem. When we were faced with the problem of you and greenix having to come back for monday when the drivers planned to leave that very day, the solution of tipping a bus trip was brought up. Now here's my personal conflict here, I can make this solution happen without any problem and I don't mind it, I just want to discuss it before imposing something that pleases me onto others. I'd feel like a dick saying "NEDEL YOU STAY HOME OR YOU TAKE THE BUS RIDE ALONE DURING THE NIGHT OF SUNDAY". Oh and one last edit, I know I make it seem as a problem in a way as in "We have to deal with Nedel", might come off wrong, but don't ever get the idea it would be easier for us if you stayed home. -

It only seems logical, except for one thing you guys MIGHT be unaware of. Nedel has to be back in trois riviere by nearly 5PM on monday. That was one of our first issues with transportation. Every driver or player were fine with the idea of taking monday off and leaving that day. So unless a driver and the players who would be with him are willing to leave VERY early on monday or have a trip back by sunday evening/night, this does pose the problem we had at some point. Our easy solution here that would try to please everyone is that we'd chip in the gas pool for bus ride back for Nedel since he has to while we'd leave as planned the next day at a regular hour. Still, if we rent a car, we have to consider that one last detail. Though, in the case that everyone pays 112$ for transportation, splitting only one ride back on a bus ride would probably a little spare extra to add IE maybe 10$/people. It's not that bad, but we just have to consider it at least. -

I don't know the specific amount of people as I didn't take any responsibility towards that. But we planned that we could manage with 2 cars excluding Kaeru. If I'm not mistaken, we were to be 8 total in those cars. And from what I know, Greenix couldn't make it after all while Bibi jumps in last minute. From that point of view, everything is fine. Now the real thing is that Pedro's car can't really risk making that trip without breaking down or being risky. Dunno the details, but the car's a no go. We have 1 car and 8 people. So I suggest we put everyone in the trunk and just pray we'll be fine... No, seriously though, the idea of having a small crew work out the bus trip was floating around yesterday and at this point, it might seem like the only option for all of us to get there. I've only been told that I'd preferably need someone who has once made the trip in my car so that I know about stuff like toll roads or any details like that. Though, once again don't take my words 100% granted and wait for Brice/Pedro to confirm as I only speak from what I know. -

From what I understand about the situation, we planned 2 cars (me and pedro) but one is not an option anymore. We havn't really talked in details how that'll work out besides Pedro saying we could have a bunch of people leaving thursday night on the bus and arriving early friday. Rest goes in my car for a friday ride. That's all I know about the current situation. Oh and, those 2 cars didn't include Kaeru's whereabouts since we didn't know exactly how he'd get there/comeback. Or at least I didn't
