Oh, lawd...

There are times when the camera itself is keyed at a low FPS to mimic 2D animation. But, it's not always consistent. It's touched on a little bit in this video.
-
I'll give hive of scum and villainy a pass just for being pretty funny. But, I'd have to fire up my PS3 and go through the CT story modes to double check those other differences. Maybe it's still somewhere on YouTube.

Patrick Seitz made another FB post, though it doesn't say much that we didn't already know.

Define "unnecessary". Did it improve the experience or the nuances? You can't just do a 1 to 1 translation and call it good. Sometimes, you have to make things flow more naturally. And even some of the "extra mile" moves like changing the terms used (Archenemy doesn't make a whole lot of sense, anyway) can add some spark to it. It is possible to go overboard. But, I don't think they did.

Not to extend this further than it needs to, but I was referring to how bothered you were by me saying "kappa" to the extent where you're associating me with "brainless morons". That's pretty bothered, dude. Kappa is like the equivalent of saying "j/k" or "don't take this seriously". It wasn't some attempt at being witty or something. What's the problem exactly? It's not like I assaulted you with a bunch of cat image macros. That is what's truly puzzling. I'm an asshole for half questioning whether this series is high quality enough to warrant purchasing multiple copies of the same game or still pre-ordering while seemingly being so upset with ASW's practices? Meh. If you want to take that as a huge character attack or something, then you can, but you probably shouldn't. Hell, I usually drop upwards of 5000 or 6000 yen a pop ($50 or $60) go to the freaking concerts. Self-deprecation? The point is lighten up. Life is too short.
-
The fact that you got this bothered by it says a lot more about you than it does about me. Loosen your panties, grandma.
-
Does this series really deserve such devotion...?
-
Well, if they're constantly hounded about it forever and ever and ever, then there's a slight chance if it'll get people to shut up. lol But, there'd actually have to be prolonged bothering about it.

Apparently, if you dig around the files of the PS3 CF disc, Mai's theme is there. So, if you're into that sort of thing...
-
I would want it like 3SOE, though. Where you could "set" the song to just be in use automatically whenever it's needed. Or at least like an "original" or "arranged" setting in the sound options like they do for the Astral Heat music. Ah, well...
-
Out of curiosity, does Central Fiction allow you to toggle the original themes back on for the older characters? It would unify the soundtrack style across the board, I would think.
-
Apparently, it's Kenta Miyake.

Regardless, this is what the edit button is for. There is no reason why you should be triple-posting.

There was a flare up. But, many people felt that the SIGN dub was pretty rushed and that some of the voices didn't quite fit anyway. Also, people had just been used to listening to Japanese voices in GG since the beginning of time, while BB has had English voices from the beginning. So, not as big of a backlash as the BB situation. I, personally, wanted them to give the actors a chance to settle into the roles a little bit and to give the localizers a chance to do a little better on the technical side of things, but they just scrapped it. I also tried to tell people who were okay with the dub not being there that if you didn't push back on it, it might spread over into Blazblue...and here we are.

They said that they weren't going to do an Extend version this time due to it splitting the base, either via people not buying the first version, or people not buying the second version. Whether you believe them or not, well... I'm not "boycotting" it per se, but I'm not getting it on day one. I haven't even given CPE the time it really needs and I'm struggling to keep up with KOF14, Revelator, SFV, and my video game backlog as it is. Maybe around Christmas or something.

I don't know when this went up exactly, but apparently due to popular demand, ASW is releasing a Blu-Ray version of the Guilty Gear Ro2N summer concert. However, while the DVD and CD is releasing next week, this Blu-Ray won't release until November. It's functionally the same as the DVD, like, nothing extra besides the HD quality, according to the description. https://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B01JY5O65Q/ref=pd_sim_15_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=JCNT39HX8VD2T8DSEA65 I'm not buying it twice, so might as well go with the Blu-Ray since it exists. lol

Shoryuken posted about the situation weeks ago. http://shoryuken.com/2016/08/29/fans-rally-behind-a-petition-for-english-dubbing-in-blazblue-central-fiction/

Well, speaking as a guy that lives in Japan, I am no stranger to listening/watching stuff in Japanese. But, that's what makes the English that much more fun. It provides a change of pace since a lot of animu tropes and character types get around (understatement). Having the changes in inflection and even just English jokes and references can make it more interesting for me. Also, some Japanese VAs do show up a lot and it helps to split the difference with the English VAs who also show up a lot.

Remember to save some outrage for that other thing we lost... A surgeon of words...

Damn, man. Poor Patrick. He always seems like a cool guy.

It hasn't happened yet with BB. It has happened with other games though, which they probably don't want to risk, as Aksys probably can't know what all ASW has planned at any given moment. And it's precisely because the America scene isn't huge that people would want the game at a time when at least a good number of Japanese people are actively playing it. It's one thing to release it a month after the Japanese version, but 7+ months? Yeah...complete ghost town online. Why the localization became so different after CS they'll probably never say.
-
They are allowed to think that it would've been more detrimental to release it later with a dub rather than now with no dub. What they're saying about a dead online or possible update is pretty true. If I remember correctly, Dengeki Bunko came out in NA after the updated version was released in Japan, rendering it useless. (Which, again, is why I don't know why companies can't just code their games to allow for add-on updates from the get-go. It would certainly help their sales and perception.) Now, if you're not so much an online warrior, your reasons for picking up the game and priorities would obviously be different and wouldn't care if the game was delayed. I'd be curious to find out if there was something that could've been done so that the localization wasn't so misaligned schedule wise (clearly it wasn't too much of a problem when Aksys was in charge for the first 2 BBs). Because it does take away from the experience slightly if you can't understand the things being said mid-match. And it is "convenient" that they can cite time reasons, save money on not doing a dub, and still charge what they always do because people will still buy it.

6-8 months? Gotdayum.

I had already pre-ordered Revelator before it broke that there was no English voices. It still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Now that they're doing the same thing with BB after all this time, I kind of want some details before I jump in again. It's really not a dealbreaker as I know I'd still have fun playing the game (and BB's plot is starting to annoy me anyway), but it's not behavior I want to condone with money unless there's a really good reason for why it's happening suddenly. Especially since this is the "grand finale" of sorts.
