[Accent Core] Sol Badguy General Discussion

Nobody's actively trying to hit with that move yet that I've seen. They're just running Slash tactics and occasionally trying to just randomly do it. -

Comparing HOS and Sol FBs: The thing is, I don't think HOS's Fafnir is completely safe on block, whereas I am pretty sure that Sol's is (I would not be surprised if it was still like the old games and gave small advantage on block). Sol also has the clean hit which allows followup midscreen (HOS Fafnir has to be counterhit). In addition, HOS doesn't have the TR followup, which costs extra meter, but adds damage and also probably comboability if you don't get the clean hit and you combo off of the wallbounce from the TR. In this respect, the only real advantage HOS has is that his FB hits low. That's still pretty great, but eh. Doesn't make Sol look any more interesting in AC. I'm sure he'll still be a good character, I just got used to always having something new to mess with in each game and so far he just looks like Slash Sol. =\ -

The standard followup after a BB seems to be dash 2D -> VV. Bleh, whatever. I don't like what I've seen so far. Sol looks kinda boring now. -
It's entirely possible that Potemkin is back to being a sucky character. =/
-
Probably because people hadn't quite fully understood GG yet back then.
-
You're kidding, right? They made them blazing white with a colored outline back in #R, making them way easier to see.
-
Of course, this may be why P.C and 012 are considered better players than isa. The downfall of many a Sol player can stem from the misconception that he can just rush down all the time mindlessly. =/
-
isa seems to be the most aggressive. Funnily enough, it's rare to see really rush-rush Sol players at higher levels, they are much more conservative and like to pick their shots, then rush once they get you on the ground.
-
Maybe not broken, but definitely has the potential to be a high-tier character. He's seriously like a better Sol at this point.
-
Are you making stuff up again? I know that if I go into training mode and do OS DI and the computer blocks it, he goes straight into the stunned animation without being able to start the autocombo. Maybe it's a glitch you're talking about.
-
Um, no, because if they block the DI, you don't even get to do the auto combo. It ends right there and HOS goes into stun.
-
Goddamn, how could I have forgotten about 012? He's great. Hard to find vids of him, but he is quite good.
-
It has more forward range now, but the hitbox downward has been severely reduced. Add in the fact that j.HS on CH gives slide down from Hell and there's little reason to jump on someone with j.S unless you are trying to set up fuzzy guard mixups.
-
Yeah I forgot about P.C but he always plays at a-cho and I hate downloading their vids for some reason. =/
-
With the way Eddie's summon is set up in AC, giving it the ability to build guard gauge would be crazy.
-
isa plays Ky now. He seemingly switched back to Sol for a few matches back on Chariot, but for the recent G3 23 on 23 matches he was back to playing Ky. Most of the good Japanese Sol players who were at SBO don't have matches of themselves online, at least not ones that I can find. Mausu is a decent Sol player. There's always Kishitaka as well. Those are the only ones I can think of that still play. If you're lucky you can check older updates in the multimedia forum and catch the matches posted earlier last month with isa in them, he plays really well.

No rumor, everyone has 5 new "normal" colors and access to 5 EX colors. Since HOS was only in Slash, all of his EX colors are from Slash.
-
But you always manage to get on my nerves by being a smartass! Good job! =/ HOS is broken cuz I say so, neener neener.
-
Never said that was all that made him good. You haven't been paying attention...again.
-
For level 2, you will probably just use level 2 Storm Viper, since it still has a long untechable time after the third hit (although not completely) and does more damage than level 2 BRP.
-
But again, that doesn't change the fact that getting charge is way easier in Accent Core. The Eddie thing is probably a matchup-specific deal. Unimportant Guy: Unfortunately, level 2 BRP no longer gives knockdown on air hit. You see it used several times in the Chariot vids by kaqn and it always gets teched. Sucks.

Man, that would be nice. Too bad any hit during slide down is basically a juggle move/juggle starter. -

The move still has to reach to the ground though. Might not work. -
I don't see how you can sit there and say kaqn only charges cuz people zone him. That doesn't change the fact that charging is way faster AND you lose your charge gradually as opposed to all at once when you do a move. Case in point, watch him hit the Dizzy player with a level 3 Rock It, cancel the last hit into hj.S-HS-D -> Storm Viper and have the SV be a level 2 move. Absolutely wonderful.

kugzy took the words right out of my mouth. Looks like GG to me. It definitely seems candy-ish, but it's still GG.
