I have no problem with any nerfs whatsoever if this is the #R hitbox.
-
And Google removed it. Just copypaste the text into a post.
-
So, nerfs to his neutral game but not to momentum. A perfectly fine way to handle him while maintaining his traditional pressure and enormous payoffs for getting in with full Eddie Gauge.

Good lord guys, make up your mind on what you want OHK's input to be. Or just leave it at the old HCB since it didn't clash with anything. Hoop change is likely to make it easier to input sweep > hoop > RC combos. Nice ease of use change. HHD buff is nice. I'd still like a beefy stun restoration to give her that extra edge, but extra ease of use is fine for a character who's honestly the most fun she's ever been.

USE COMBOS TO SUMMON THE DADDY LONGLEGS SPIDER -
I'm still seeing confusion about this phenomenon, so I made a little video that was totally not me also testing stream settings and mic levels. http://www.twitch.tv/pichy_and_pals/c/5698290 There is one thing I forgot to mention though: THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO COMBO INTO INSTANT KILLS IN XRD. Even if you're already in IK mode, land a counterhit Fafnir and even RC it just to be sure it will not work. The game forces it to whiff. Now go make some silly kill combos on Chipp or something. I'll be back to grinding Zato unblockables.

I made a little video about Faust's janky hurtbox, and some examples of extra bonuses his opponents get from it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJG0YuMwZDc&feature=youtu.be

I'm Writing Words About Learning Guilty Gear. Feedback Appreciated.
Pichy replied to Pichy's topic in Guilty Gear General
Nope! Plinking to get out links won't help you. If you're playing Slayer, just learn the timing for f.S into cl.S and f.S into 2K through practice. Do keep in mind that there is more hitstun on crouching opponents, so those links are much easier when you land such a hit! EDIT: Oh, you're playing Bedman. Even easier then - he's pretty much just chain to 3H then do Sumo Splash! -

For the record, X, Vanilla XX and Isuka were the only games with an even roster. I would imagine that part of the reason for that distinct character select screen in X through to Slash was that it looked cool regardless of whether it had symmetry. -

Yes. The intstructions for pre-loading come in your console's native language as they're part of the OS rather than the storefront. -

Japanese PSN preorders are now available. EDIT: To find it on the storefront, go to ゲーム then PS3ゲーム then 対戦型格闘 and it's the first listed option. As advertised, it's 5980en. I'd advise keeping 800en as that's probably what Leo will cost. Also, buy Dark Awake ~The King Has No Name~ and be a cool person. -
When does the game release? December 4th in Japan. December 16th in the United States. Some time in 2187 for PAL territories. What's this game on? Playstation 3 and Playstation 4. Both release at the same time and can play with each other online! The PS3 version runs at 720p and 60fps. This is identical to the arcade version. PS4 version runs at 1080p and 60fps. If you are purely after visuals, go for this version. Is there a PSN version? YES. Pre-orders are now open. To find it on the storefront, go to ゲーム then PS3ゲーム then 対戦型格闘 and it's the first listed option. You can pre-load the game from December 2nd. That's Japan Time, so it'll be Dec 1st for you Americans. Are you sure the PS3 version won't have a gimped framerate? If it did it would make the online play between versions amazingly unstable and probably be completely unplayable. Let's trust in the dev this far at least. Will my PS3 stick work on the PS4 version? At this point, no. Not at all. Madcatz and Hori both have PS4 sticks available for purchase at this time. So will all tournaments be using the PS4 version then? What console a game runs on is entirely up the event organiser's discretion. At this point I'd wager on events for at the very least the first year sticking to PS3 since they already own the console and people have sticks for 'em. If there's one thing TOs don't usually have, it's money to burn. What about Xbox 360/One? Japan hates the Xbox, so no release of any kind at this time. Don't expect one down the road either, honestly. What about PC? Japanese devs aren't exactly fond of supporting the PC for a myriad of reasons. If one comes out, we'll be just as pumped as you! How do I play as Sin or Elphelt? Sin is an in-game unlockable. You can earn points from various mode of play to unlock things, so go for him first. Pretty much BBCP and UNIEL's in-game points system. Elphelt is a DLC character. If you pre-order the PSN version she comes available right away. Is therefore likely a first-print bonus for physical copies and otherwise 800 yen or something. Wait, that's it for the roster? Where's Order Sol/Jam/Johnny/Baiken/Bridget/ABA/Dr. Paradigm/Leopaldon/Watson the Magic Rabbit? Sin, Elphelt and Leo are the only additions to the Arcade version's roster announced at this point. As soon as ASW announce any other character, we'll be just as excited to know as you! When's Leo? I heard he's coming as DLC!! When he's done. Is the netcode good? We don't know; the game's not out! Unless there's been some serious shakeup in how their networking programmers do things, we'll assume it'll be the same stuff they've been using since BBCT. Will each country's release be locked out of playing with each other like American Love Max? No. This has been completely refuted by both ASW and the US publisher, Aksys Games. Isn't Guilty Gear really hard? How do I learn it? It's far simpler to pick up than you think it is. Sit down with some friends and play the game! If you have questions, ask them! Isn't Xrd really dumbed down and simplified? Doesn't that make it bad? First, that's subjective. Play the game and decide for yourself from your own experiences. Second, the new Roman Cancel systems remove a lot of hefty execution barriers that really hurt people opening up the potential of some certain characters like I-no. Others like Zato take just as much effort as before (arguably more since Nobiru doesn't cover like a quarter of the screen). The new system isn't so much dumbing things down as changing things up a bit. After all, this is a new game! AC+R hasn't ceased to exist if you want to keep playing XX. Who should I start with? If you're from a more traditional Street Fighter background, check out Ky. He has solid footsie normals, a strong fireball game and incredibly simple combos (chain to sweep then do the charged fireball to stay on top of them at midscreen. In the corner, chain to sweep, do the super fireball then simply do close Slash, crouch High Slash, uppercut three times for big damage!). Watch out though - some characters have ways of slipping under his uppercut even on your wakeup! Slayer is another fairly easy character with excellent footsies. His normals operate far more like Street Fighter (target combo for up-close, confirming standing kicks into a single special move etc.) than the rest of the cast. He also has one of the best backdashes in the game. If you like modern Dhalsim's poking game and Super Turbo Dhalsim's ludicrous offense options, give Faust a whirl. You can learn the game poking all day and discover a whole new world of making people miserable as you learn how the game works and how he uses its systems. Who's top tier? Faust, Sol, Milia, Ramlethal, Chipp, Zato. Listed in order of difficulty for either execution or neutral game reasons. If we know this, why play anyone else? A mix of character tools and universal system mechanics mean that everyone has some sort of option for just about every situation. Try out everyone and see who fits you best. Being comfortable with a character and finding your own answers to situations will take you much further in the long run than just mindlessly following a flowchart someone else threw at you. Knowledge you own is knowledge you're applying without even realising it! So if this is out, does that mean Blazblue/Persona/UNIEL/Arcana Heart/GEXVS/Skullgirls/My local Sengoku Basara X scene won't play those games anymore? Play what you enjoy playing. Videogames are fun. How do I block Milia? 1. Be Praying 2. Be Praying 3. Be Praying BE ATTITUDE FOR GAINS...

The rule for Potemkin corner combos in Xrd is pretty much "if you RC'd something, you can do 6K loops." -

It absolutely will be. If you want the American copy, it'll be out on the 16th December. You just need to make a US Playstation Network account. You can use information from this importing guide but simply say you're from American when making the account instead of Japan. The account won't accept your credit/debit card, so you'll need to buy PSNbux cards from an online store. Play-Asia have fast delivery but a bit of markup. DLC has to be from the same region you bought the game. -
I would assume they grossly overestimated the time it takes to build the art assets and implement them.

Down here in SA our fighting games major is back for a second year! We definitely have the strongest Anime support of the Australian events at this point and would love to build Australian Anime connections further. Everyone who came down last year had a great time. It also happens to be a couple of days after Xrd's japanese launch, so we'll be running a free launch tournament with a $250 pot bonus! Likewise for Smash 4 if you want to give that a whirl as well. Where is it? Rumours Cafe, Adelaide University. Adelaide Uni is smack bang in the middle of North Terrace within easy access to the rest of the city. When? December 6 and 7. What games? Blazblue Chronophantasma Under Night In-Birth EXE-late Persona 4: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold Guilty Gear Xrd ~Sign~ free entry And if you care about other games: The King of Fighters 13 Ultra Street Fighter IV Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 Killer Instinct Injustice: Gods Among Us Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo Street Fighter 3: Third Strike Online Edition Capcom vs SNK 2 (PS2) Super Smash Bros. Melee Super Smash Bros. Brawl Super Smash Bros. Project M Super Smash Bros. Wii U How much? $40 competitor fee if you pre-register. 50 at the door. $10 for Blazblue $5 for UNIEL and P4UUSH Guilty Gear Xrd is free Accommodation? The Crowne Plaza is offering a deal if you mention Southern Cross Championships. It's not too far from the Uni, so you get to enjoy a pleasant walk in the CBD! Otherwise, can always try mugging locals to lend a patch of floor to pass out on or whatever your preference for that proper poverty fights experience is. Online Signups? Bam. Right here. Shoutouts to Shadowlogic for letting us use their storefront. Facebook page? Here you go. Is there any sort of general Australian anime facebook group while you're here? You bet, kid! For more information, hit up the South Australian Fighting Game Community website. It's over here. I'd love to see you there.

AllyofJustice's latest bout of foolish inanity brings up an interesting viewpoint that many people seem to have about GG: That Potemkin is the only grappler. Wild throw is a key element of Sol's offense. Overhead Kiss is one of the easiest ways for new May players to understand what their options off of anti-air hits are. Bloodsucking Universe started as the single greatest threat in Slayer's arsenal back in XX. Sure it's had many nerfs since those days, but it's still yet another factor you have to be thinking about when Slayer's in your grill. What's the one thing you don't want Zato to land on you while Eddie's out? Damned Fang. Chipp's is a bit unconventional, but the ability to blow up people trying to stick out lows in footsies or defense is certainly a grappler tactic. Don't get me started on Faust. Hell, 1f throws in and of themselves allow the entire cast to use offensive and defensive tactics that would otherwise be exclusive to grapplers in games with slower normal throws. Look at how often Milia lands throws during offense. After all, SF2 Chun-Li and Dhalsim aren't really considered grapplers yet in a great deal of matchups it's that damnable st.MP/throw OS or meaty slide tickthrows that get the wins. Xrd's already got seven grounded command grab characters. I-no plays a tech grab game that's like anyone with a Heat Grab/Atomic Collider anyway. So let's say eight. That's about half the cast who honestly we can say are grapplers. And yes, Iori Yagami is absolutely a grappler. Look at what that son of a gun does in 98UM or 13 with the thing. -

Going from #R to Xrd, Ky only gained combo options. Everything you learn there will work fine.
