  1. Madcatz have also just announced versions of the TE2 for all consoles. The PS3 stick works for PS4 as well, with a toggle switch like a Qanba Q4. Markman's respnse to the USF4 art was that the stick will be very easy to mod, so you can replace that with your favourite softcore pornographic fanart or a picture of Rob Stark getting shanked or whatever you cool kids do with sticks these days.

  3. I import every game. I get people to play them. They don't keep at them because they can't be bothered going through the rigmarole of buying a game that isn't available in the region for themselves to train. The tolerance for importation in scenes is a great deal less than it used to be, and it does nothing but hurt potential newcomers from getting into games. You can make quips about people not being dedicated if you like, but I watched Persona 4 Arena's interest live and die by its availability, even with every scene in this country having access to 2 copies at US/JPN launch. I'm being optimistic that they learned from P4U. The only revision of an ASW game we've received on time is CS2, simply because it was a patch.

  8. Okay so from 20 minutes of play: - You can't do BR dash BR dash BR - No rainbow step - Can't sidestep then tap jump - Blocking is its own button - Red lock range is tiny. Understandable since they're trying to make it about dudes punching each other, but still saddening - There's an option to input your additional weapons with either unique buttons (pad friendly) or as Shoot/Melee + a unique button. No option to just have Shoot+Melee/Shoot+Jump/Melee+Jump - EX activation's its own button. Appears to do character-specific things. Need to test. THe interace is fine, and I don't mind the visuals. The game itself feels extremely clunky right now. Atrocious mouse support in menus to boot. Feels like a console conversion even though it's PC exclusive. EDIT: I guess you can do BR dash BR. The timing's much slower than before. That or the training bots just don't dodge when they could. Again, clunkiness abounds. Need to test the actual multiplayer with more locals.

  10. Neither is Jewpuncher. KK's an attempt to have a forum for all the poverty games, but is suffering immensely from lack of awareness and interest from the people who do play the games in tabulating data.

  12. This'll be the third game Parace's been in. Given how utterly busted her moveset and arcana abilities are, I highly doubt they'll have made a readjusted or playable version. Plus she'd mess with the symmetry of the character select screen.
  13. I've been musing over this throughout the day and been thinking about how the shift towards social media has changed fighting game communities. People discuss matchups, framedata, situational punishes and so on all the time in Twitter, Facebook groups and so on. Such sites have excellent regional search functions, making it pretty easy to go hunting for local groups in between bouts of Farmville and hitting the Like Button next to someone's joke about Rob Stark getting shanked or whatever the cool kids do. We can attract people to local groups easier, but have lost a certain permanency to information as it's found. Permanent information can pretty much come in three forms for fighting games: 1) Official mooks with framedata etc. 2) Discussions amongst players leading to information consolidated on wikis/fancy fan-made guidebooks like that one SF4 Makoto one. 3) Video records to demonstrate the theory constructed from the above two sources in an easily digestible way. These are things we need to help ease newcomers into learning the games themselves. These are the things that the growing amount of one-off discussions and region-based groups can't really help with. What I'm getting at is that we need less splintered websites causing information to get lost in the wilderness. We need to have the airdash games on a single site so we can more easily say to people "this is where you go to get info and have discussions. Just this one address should get you started". Dustloop already has the largest install base, so it should be easier to have the few cool cats on Melty Bread, Homing Cancel and so on post here than to move things elsewhere. KusogeKings is a pretty good demonstration of what happens if you try to include all the forums for games without having any sort of established reputation or userbase. From there, we really need to make sure we used the single hub as a way to get the ball rolling for real on converting ideas from discussions into useful information for players. It'll take effort, but that's what fighters are all about.
  14. Yeah, I hate it when people can get a degree of reward for making correct reads while you steadily teach them the importance of neutral, blocking, throwtechs and situational punishes.
  15. She loses icespike FRC (so hopefully her combos work more like / or AC than #R) but gains things like lightning spear and spinnyscythe YRCs. Those are huge buffs to her neutral game.
  16. I'll budget time for it the same way I do any other game release I care about. A healthy balance in life is useful for staying focused and not burning out.

  19. Zenia, Mei Fang, Kira and Kamui all got good buffs. Akane and Nazuna, not so much. Of course, the game's one that very much rewards playing the system more than the character. Just play whoever you enjoy most and share your excitement for the game!!!!!
