Yeah, I'm done for now as well. Might reset my modem later and try again or something. When lime left I was like "No lime don't leave!". At any rate, sorry about that fellas, but the delay was a bit frustrating. We all had 2 bars but they felt like 0-1 bars. You're all pretty good players too. Oh well, till next time I guess. C'est la vie.

So apparently that walking thing with Terumi is a counter-distortion. Oh boy. Yes, it was unfortunate. BBCP netcode is random. You won in my eyes though, lime.
-
Invite me as well if there's still a spot open. PM'd you my PSN.
-
Pretty sure that it wasn't a question, more of a "You do what you want and I'll do what I want" type of thing. But honestly though everyone should probably be doing it. Makes things much quicker.
-
If anyone is interested in playing a set with me right now please let me know because I'll be getting on in a few. This^. Yeah, it's not very good. More of a troll-tactic then anything else.
-
Yeah, but see, then we're assuming that everyone who visits the combo thread has already seen the Wolf Sweep Loop before. Which isn't always going to be the case. At least with my way they can see that yes w[5C]'s are indeed in the combo and it's not just a command dash & wolf brake being repeated. And even then they might be confused about the holding. I do agree with that last bit about an explanation being important no matter which way we choose to notate it.
-
Sure. Oh, perhaps I should have been more clear. And sounds good. But Kiba! Whiffing sturm wolf is so embarrassing, I get taunted then fatal'ed. It's horrific.
-
Not really sure if I agree with this, it's notated like that for a reason. I want people to know that they do indeed need to hit people with several w[5C]'s for the combo to work. Simply notating it as [3D > 4C] xN just looks like a command dash & the wolf brake. Even though you're technically not inputting another w[5C] after the w[4C] I want people to know that the opponent will get hit by a w[5C] after the brake. The best way to do this would be just to leave it as [5C > 3D > 4C] xN and make a note about holding the w[4C] and about how the combo works in the OP. This way people can't complain about abstract notation and leaving things out.

Surprised? Fighting Tsubaki/Izayoi is okay with me but I just haven't seen too many CP Hazamas yet. The h[5B > 2C > 236C > 9D] route that I really enjoy executing sadly doesn't work on Tsubaki/Izayoi either. Neutral with Hazama is always really fast-paced and interesting as well. Plus I used to face Hazamas all of the time.

I'm talking about using the brake during movement/pressure. Eh, not really sure how to answer this question. They're not particularly easy, that's for certain, and probably not a really good idea on netplay either. They're very wolf meter intensive as well. Most Jap Valkenhayns opt to stay away from the Wolf Sweep Loop, but I feel as though it has it's uses. It'll take some serious work but I feel as though I can get it down, make sure to learn at least 2 reps for wolf pressure though.
-
No one really plays Valkenhayn in NA so most people don't know how to fight him properly. Surprising I have actually faced a whopping 4 Valkenhayn's on netplay thus far, though I knew 3 of them from Dustloop. Also, GG's to NarukamiV for the late night matches.
-
Err, yes. Everyone has. I've gotten used to most of it, still having issues with the new wolf brake input though. Unintentional w[j.C]'s coming out at superjump height when I'm nowhere near my opponent are very annoying. There is no real trick to getting used to it. Just grind it out really hard. Ingrain the new inputs into your mind, make it all muscle memory through consistent practice.
-
What did I do, we only played like 5 matches. Anyways, you should learn Valkenhayn, he's really fun in this version. Kicking people in the face with itty bitty wolf feet is extremely satisfying. The D change is just something that we'll all have to get used to. But honestly, the hardest part about the D change is the new input for the wolf brake in my opinion. Fixed. Oh yeah, 21 frames, the animation of him lifting up his sword makes it a bit easier to react to. A friend of mine was pretty happy when he found out that zantetsu was actually useful in CP. You were getting hit by my rising w[j.C] a lot, I mash that thing so hard though. You actually got me a few times with j.D as well which I really didn't expect at all. Those 2D > Shippu > Kishuu Cancel > Short Combo comebacks really hurt too.

6D start-up nerf made my life a lot easier, yeah. I'm used to fighting Hakumen in neutral so I have these weird movement patterns, my movement would be better if this new wolf brake change was easier but meh. I really don't like going air-to-air with Hakumen so I always try to out maneuver him. One thing I noticed is that anything into Zantetsu = damage. Every time you'd hit me with it I'd burst. And doesn't that thing have like 26 frames of start-up? I kept failing to block it, hah. Never used to see that move in Extend. w[5B] and j.B still trade like crazy. Was expecting to see more tk.Hotaru as well, was going to see if I could low-profile it with a well-spaced 2B on wake-up. I was also expecting a lot of 2D since it retained it's 1F start-up. Forgot that Hakumen 6B CH = combo in CP, until you did it on me. Also, I probably shouldn't have sat around as much because damn he gains stars really quickly now. Overall, the match-up seems to be pretty similar to Extend.
-
Lmao GG's mAc, golden Hakumen too strong. Hopefully I helped with your match-up thread or something in some tiny way.
-
When it comes to fighting games enduring the hard times will almost always lead to good times later down the line. Try not to think about who you are, think about who you want to be. Use your own aspirations as a form of motivation.

What is "absurd level god tier?" I don't think that Extend Valkenhayn was absurd level god tier, he was just S tier. You're pretty much right about the fact that he is now stronger in a few aspects, but weaker in many others. As for being a whole new character, I disagree. And unlike most people I honestly believe that CP Valkenhayn is overall easier to use then Extend Valkenhayn. As for tier ratings, who the heck knows. First Hakumen was the CP god that everyone feared who was said to be da bess', then it was Litchi, and now we're all riding the Kokonoe hate train. Things change. The interesting thing about CP is that there are just so many strong characters that are possible contenders for S tier spots (Taokaka, Kokonoe, Hazama, Jin, Relius, Hakumen, Litchi, Valkenhayn, Rachel?, etc). If you'd like a definitive/conclusive answer, I can't give you one. But he's definitely a top contender, and is still a great character.

Added both to the OP for the brave souls who want to attempt the loop.
-
sam, it was cross-continent netplay. I may be willing to try again...someday. Glad you had fun though because I did as well, Valkenhayn mirrors are not something that I get to do often either.
-
GG's to NeoGio and badlime. When I first saw Gio I thought that I was in for some Valkenhayn mirrors, but he's apart of the Tao army. So many close matches. Wanted to stay for more matches with badlime's Hazama but I was starving and it was really getting to me, but he had to go anyways so it was fine. Learned some interesting character specific things about Izayoi and Tao's aerial hitboxes, which is great. Adjustments will be made. Also, I refuse to use wake-up sturm wolf from now on unless I plan on losing. Hah.

Staying up till 3:00am in order to finish season 2 of Game of Thrones then heading onto BB netplay for a few matches probably isn't a good idea. At any rate, special GG's to KillerOmen (pretty sure that was his PSN) for putting up with my Valkenhayn whilst using Tager. Those weird set-ups with magnetism were downright hilarious, I'm almost tempted to upload a replay.
-
Didn't think that there would be this many Taokaka players.
-
There's always been a lot of beginners on Vita.

Practicing combos for hours upon hours and then heading onto netplay to drop them always sucks. The w[1D > j.D] was coming out way too slow for some reason, which kept making the 2C whiff, wasn't happy about that. I actually use a visual cue for the timing on those combos. I might be the only Valkenhayn player who's actually using Hima combos as well. Also, those Tsubaki DP's. A few of those were my fault though, kept auto-piloting into habits that work on people who don't know the match-up. Not many people DP right after my 5C/6B. Speaking of which, things get really interesting when both players know the match-up. We actually had a pretty good back-and-forth with the Valkenhayn mirrors. I'd win one, then you'd win once, then I'd win once, etc and so forth. And all of our matches were quite close (third round, both players at low health, that sort of thing). Though the amount of drops was really horrendous. But I still had fun. You shouldn't have stayed up till 4 though, gotta get that good nights rest. Kinda hypocritical for me of all people to say that though. Hah. Yes.

Oh boy, hah. I do love the combo thread though. Fixed, and for some reason Jourdal put himo no hin as the creator, he's fixed it now though. It's actually a collaboration.
