[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion
Ctrlaltwtf replied to Shinjin's topic in Guilty Gear General
Could you not say the exact same thing about RC and FRC? One of them is always better, despite them being the exact same button only with better timing. The only thing I like about FRC is the ability to cancel moves on whiff, or in some cases before the move even becomes active. I think it would add more strategic depth however if you could use it at any time during the animation. I can see that leading to some crazy mix-ups. --- I'm personally going with "Excerd" like saying "Exceed" only with an R in place of the second E. -

I liked the way Just inputs worked in SC4. They weren't (usually) necessary at all for doing your combo string, but they did do stuff way faster and for slightly more damage. Not to mention they usually had unique SFX that made them cooler. It was a good way of rewarding super-good execution without making it a barrier to beginning players. I don't believe CSE has it. I don't know anything about the PSP versions of anything, I don't have them on my Vita. -

I figured I'd just drop this here: GG+R has an "Easy Input" option in the Button settings. I honestly don't notice a difference with it on/off but I'd assume it's some kind of input buffer. -
So I decided to finally watch Kurushii's archive of the music fest, I missed like the first half of it due to work. Rebellion was much more enjoyable to listen to live. Could anyone help me out and tell me what song is being played at 26:00?

lime and I are "everyone" now? It's my weekend, I was on CSE earlier today. I'm reading otaku stuff now.
-
Well, it's sort of like "I'm doing worse because I'm trying to do more advanced stuff" lol. Eventually I'll get it down. I keep forgetting you can do a tk Ensenga off of a 2D > coin.
-
That's enough for me. GGs. Unblockable 30F overheads.
-
Yeah, that's what this game does lol.

Ottawa: Why have fundamentals when you have gimmicks?

I just pretend it's Exceed. Except with an R instead of a second E. So Excerd. -
I thought Makoto suffered persecution as a child. How's she's supposed to do that out in the seithr were humans can't live?

Oh, I read it as "Thinking about doing a lobby fight as celebration..." "...for summer vacation this friday."

Fighting other people, honestly. Even fighting high-level CPUs can help get your nerves under control. There's a big difference between doing a combo in Training and successfully confirming it in the midst of a melee. It's like the difference between learning how to drive a car and learning how to drive. If you meant how to spend your time already in Training mode, you could try setting the dummy to a high level CPU, or at the very least setting it to random recovery options.

I am so tempted to simply say "You're on your way to P4A greatness!" or something, but I'll resist. Oki isn't quite as relevant on most characters, at least not when compared to GG or BB. Chie and Narukami are the most oki-prone characters in my opinion. After awakening you should be using Sukukaja. I know that much about Yosuke. Yosuke's got an insanely fast running speed and amazing A pokes, you should use and abuse them. From what you've said, all I think you really need is some practice. You're panicking too much when the game actually starts and you're not thinking about your options. I call this Training Mode syndrome.

Ah summer vacation. I remember when that was actually a thing that existed in my life. I'm getting on now, if I see your room I'll give you a few matches.

[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion

Well, the song that's playing during the trailer does keep yelling "BACK TO BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!" It wouldn't, actually. In GG right now the screen has to zoom-out when you get far away from each other. With 16:9 the camera would simply stay at the same magnification (thank god). All you have to do to make the stage:character size ratio the same across display ratios is to make the ratio the same across games. i.e. let's pretend wildly that Sol's standing hitbox is always 200 units wide and the stages are always 2000 units wide (not remotely based on any real numbers). If in GG Xrd they make Sol 500 units wide then the stages simply have to be 5000 units wide. -

It'll also be nice to finally have 16:9 GG. -
Won't find me objecting to that lol.

ggs. One day I will be able to input the MSD-Jack Hound without failing it 30% of the time. That shit is so satisfying when it works. Also, ever since my conn stopped blowing up I'm now getting better speeds than before Maybe this is why our conn is suddenly better (as in, on BB. GG net is always tempermental)
-
I have RT set to Taunt I think. I didn't realize it was input-specific.
-
btw pushing RT on your character in the select screen opens up different color sets.
-
Yeah, that conn failed is just a dumb thing that happens every 20 games or so. ... I just got an invite to CSE from a completely random JP person. Could you imagine how Tsubaki would be if she could explode during her D charge as a DP? -- lol dem Respect baits.
-
lmao and then it goes to shit.... Yeah, that failed thing happens sometimes.
-
OGOD, WE PLAYIN TEH GAME NAO. Yeah, how bout you host from now on.

Hardest thing I have with playing Johnny is realizing that 80% of your movelist will never hit the opponent 90% of the time.
