  5. It's called X-Raying, basically it means that Object A is always rendered in front of Object B, despite them clipping through each other. Imagine something similar to Layers in Photoshop. The term comes from when modelers needed to edit the bones of a skeleton rig after it's already placed within a mesh. By making the Skeleton always show it becomes simple to select and edit it even though it's technically "behind" or inside a mesh. It sounds simple at first but it can sometimes really fuck with your head when you see it in motion. I don't think there's any of this "HD 2D" editing he is talking about, I'm not even really sure what that is supposed to mean. 3D animation is technically nothing but a sequence of rapidly rendered 2D images.

  8. Just finished a Valkenhayn wallpaper. This one's not in theme with my previous works. (2MB 1920x1080) http://imageshack.us/f/11/valkenhayn3.png/ I feel like it may be a bit too designed specifically for my own monitor, though. When I view it on my (admittedly crappy) sub-monitor there is some noticeable banding especially around the glows.

  10. You are seriously underestimating the power of 3D visuals. Lights and camera manipulation have been around forever so it's not surprising that all the angles look good. Light sources and effects (and a ton of other things) can be tracked to the camera or offset from the camera in certain ways that they give attractive effects no matter what angle the object in question is being shown at. Simple example: A fill light is tracked to the character that points directly into the camera at all times. This prevents the character from ever having overly dark shadows no matter what angle he's shot at.
  11. Neat, I usually go the opposite route with box modeling > multires modifier > sculpt on top of a base mesh. The hardest part is staying motivated to actually finish it! Good luck.

  13. He may have been trolling, but I got used to just jumping over 360s all day when I fought Mucky. And by jumping over 360s, I mean getting lag spiked into 720s and swearing loudly about my jump not coming out.

  17. One thing I hate about those on pad is that you can't assign P+K+HS to a button. Which means you have to manually push those three buttons at once on pad (which is pretty freaking hard). On stick obviously it isn't an issue though. If you do the usual P+K+S you'll always get the travel follow-up because the S button overrules the FRC.
  18. Does anyone know the proration values for Gashou (S) vs. Zaneiga (S)? That's a question I've been wondering for some time because it seems like most players prefer the Gashou > ??? route now instead of our beloved Zaneiga > 6C I checked the wiki but it doesn't have it yet 8(

Shoutouts to losing the match by hitting Rachel 2C with Haza 6B. Shoutouts to 30F overheads. Rapid Cancels when activating Haku-men's AH, it's like the ultimate form of despair. GGs xGiru

  22. I need a break from BB, I'm starting to sink into some really bad habits on that game. Anyone want a set on P4? - Where'd all these rooms come from? - 0 bar Yosuke shenaningans. It would've been so immensely epic if that chair fall had killed you.
  23. My prediction for E3: We'll see the Xrd trailer again, and perhaps a very tentative window (i.e. Late 2014/early 2015) Then we'll see some stuff on CP release dates. I think the question of 360 NA release will be answered, whether it's yes or no I have no clue.
  24. Well, we all know the community's opinion of CP Haku-men. I'm actually very eager for CP v-13. I like what they did with her mode switch. I've always thought her projectiles felt a bit out of sync with the speed of the rest of the game, but with everything sped up in CP I think she'll feel a lot more cohesive to the gameplay.
