  5. Anyone notice that Ky's stage in the trailer doesn't line up with his previously revealed stage? Maybe it's like a between round change or something?
  6. I made some tweets about why I think Ky vs. Sol is a hard match for Ky a while ago, it sparked a bit of discussion that should definitely be had here so ~let's rock~ I used to think this was mostly even, with Sol maintaining a slight advantage. After playing the matchup so often i'm starting to think it's 4 - 6 Sol's favor. Sol has many ways of forcing himself in. Bandit Bringer will not only jump all of Ky's pokes, but CH them for massive damage on the way down. Grand Viper will low profile everything but lows, though this feels like one of the easier moves of his to deal with. Approaching from the air is made much easier in Xrd with Kudakero, especially when paired with YRC. Run up 2D is surprisingly effective since it also low profiles many of Ky's best normals. If you're being overly active in neutral he can always just run up DP. Fafnir is a scary move no doubt, and he can anti-air you with it in many cases. I don't think either player has an advantage here but I don't think it's particularly hard for Sol to actually get in on Ky. It's even worse that Sol's damage is off the charts in the corner, which is where I inevitably end up, and once i'm there I stay there because his corner pressure feels so effective at preventing jump outs/mashing (6H, Fafnir, Gunflame, 5K, Bandit Bringer). Once he's got you blocking obediently, you get Wild Thrown Maybe i'm just not playing this right? I've looked for as much advice as I can and watched lots of other people playing the match, it just feels like everything Ky has is sort of ineffective, and every advantage will be taken eventually.
  7. @Silent Shinobi Thanks for your analysis, it was great! Youtube link is up if anyone needs it by the way https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCHiC-NfQb4&feature=youtu.be
  8. Can you link the matches you're talking about? Seeing things helps me understand
  9. I assume high level player's actions are always intentional too much ;_; Once it was pointed out I was like why didn't I think of thattt
  10. So his throw attempt missed and c.S came out because he was option selecting? That's probably more likely now that I think about it.
  11. Something I noticed, Machaboo loves to 5P feint over opponent's wakeup. I'd say he's baiting reversals but I-no, Millia, and Zato only get access to theirs with 50 tension so it might just be his preferred method of setting up oki? He also seems to prefer ending his air combos without a HVT so he can chase the opponent more easily after they tech. 00:52 Round start 2HS, he probably thought Koishi would take to the air, CH by I-no 2S. 00:57 Escapes the botched setup with a 6P, gets a full combo and even tried to bait the burst with j.P! It looks like his block might have been crossed up when he falls under her or he just stopped blocking because he thought she wouldn't burst anymore. 01:34 He was probably mashing back throw but gets a 5HS CH. Machaboo is really making her setplay look weak and I don't have enough experience to tell if it's just Koichi messing up his setups or if Machaboo is just that good lol. 01:47 Round start j.K, looks like he's convinced she'll jump in but wanted to avoid 2S maybe? She backdashed away though so it whiffed. 02:08 Again with the 5HS CH on Koichi's oki, whatever I-no's trying it's not working. 02:14 He went for an air throw here but Karin escaped with a divekick. 02:48 c.S anti air, punishes her tech with 2H, punishes another forward tech with air throw. 02:53 Tries to set up CSE after in a bad spot, Koichi escapes with a sultry performance... 02:56 ...and Machaboo puts an end to that really quick with an HVT through her pressure 02:58 I really like stuff like this, Machaboo sets up CSE oki, runs after it, and pauses for moment as if he's about to throw, then throws out c.S. Koishi was smart and didn't bite, but if he had tried to mash out or jump the throw he would have had to deal with a c.S CH, or a c.S anti-air. I need to do simple stuff like this more often~ 3:03 Machaboo may have made koishi afraid of recovering early, since he didn't escape this grey beat And the rest of the match Ky successfully keeps I-no in the rainbow of sadness, abusing his range while she's cornered and forcing her to make drastic decisions to escape, including whiffing her gold burst.
  12. I'm really learning a lot from this, i'm very unfamiliar with Slayer so I don't have much to add but I feel like I understand a little better now. I don't know what "BDC" means, exactly. I'm guessing Slayer can cancel his backdash startup? What is it used for?

  15. There's Arcade UFO in Austin for fighting games. There's also Round 1 in Arlington. they have Initial D8/Wangan Midnight and a bunch of rhythm games, but not much in the fighter category. We meet every Friday/Saturday but if someone wants to host a meetup on the 10th I can probably come! @Scottie Yosh We'll see you two tomorrow at Epic I hope?
  16. Thanks to everyone from DFW and Austin yesterday for the games at Epic! I got tons of experience, and teams were fun too. Shoutouts to the italian cream sodas
  17. You can even Ride the Lightning through the whale, it's nice if you're in hellfire or she's about to die. For what it's worth i'm gonna agree that this MU is definitely not in May's favor, not really sure how bad it is for her at this point though.
  18. Last night before the patch I was being paired up with Japanese people constantly and had back to back 2f delay with them, which really doesn't make any sense. They couldn't block anything, a few of them even gave up halfway through, i'm pretty sure the lag was horrendous on their end but somehow mine was perfect. I hope the patch fixes this.
  19. I'll sign up with DL Do you guys have a bracket or total entrants somewhere? I'm not really sure how this tourney is going to be run
  20. Thanks for the games, I definitely needed the Potemkin experience! I'll probably be there tomorrow to practice my SIn
  21. I'll be on in about 20 minutes
  22. I'm in DFW, PSN is StrawberryFC, I play Ky I'll most likely be on tonight at 8:30pm. Hopefully we can get <4f!
  23. I should be strawberryfc on Skype. I don't know anyone who's in the chat
  24. Didn't Daisuke say in an interview that he would like for the whole original cast to make a return at some point? At least he's not opposed to the idea. I can't wait until tonighttt!
  25. I don't think you can buy it until it releases in a few hours. Digital preorders are already closed
