  1. Hazama, Relius, perhaps Azrael. But those guys are evil in the end, more than jerks, they are just bad to the core. In that regard, Jin while an ass is still a good guy in the bottom. Or perhaps I am missing someone.
  2. Yeah, I guess you guys are right. I am getting way too touchy about it. Sorry for dragging it. Let's move on, don't wanna turn this into an argument over those two.
  3. Okay, let me try to rephrase: Tsubaki went against Noel out of jelaousy because she thought Noel took her place. Okay, but Noel was her dear friend and they really loved each other. What makes Jin so important that Tsubaki is willing to kill her friend to get near him? What did Jin do to grow on her so much? There must be something, I am not denying that, but nothing really convincing has been shown. They just say a lot Tsubaki and Jin are in love, but never show it. Showing and not just telling is necessary to make convincing writting, especially on important parts of the plot. The little scenes they shared may work to hint they have something going on, but fall short to justify a love that makes the biggest jerk in the story become completely heroic for her and a girl who us shown to be rational, intelligent and level headed (until mind control kicked in) completely lose it for love. DeadmanJV2: True, she did stop right before finishing her, but she did went all the way until that. It shows how big Jin is for her. When mind control made it's effect she went to the extremist side and the color changes as you say. I think I am complaining too much, still. Sorry bout it, let's drop it here, this is about CP story after all.
  4. Yeah, but it's kind of hard to swallow that Tsubaki is so lovestruck that's willing to go against her friends when we don't even see her relationship with Jin (a couple of cute scenes do not make a convincing relationship.) I mean, why is Jin so important to her? Why is she willing to go against Noel, he dear friend who she really loved, for this guy (who is shown to the players as a horrible person for the most time)? She has a huge deal with him, but it's never shown and just telling and expect the players to go with it, it's kind of pretentious, imo.
  5. Sorry for the silly question, but why do Overdrives see so little use? I mean, they are basically a super mode with no apparent drawbacks, I am aware that "apparent" is the key word here, btw.
  6. Thing is there is a whole bunch of symbolism splattered around that "shows" their love, their birthdates, Camelias, the Childish Killer theme. But the important part, their actual relationship is never explored properly. We get many comments and teasing that Tsubaki is all over Jin, but we never get to see them having a moment, talking about something peacefully, doing something for each other. Nothing really that shows actual chemistry or why they developed love for each other, we get some tease scenes, like Jin wiping out Tsubaki's cheek with a napkin, that while really cute, it was in Noel's story as a way of showing that she supported those two more than their relationship. If they showed why Tsubaki is so crazy about Jin, like Jin was the sweetest guy in the world with her or something that makes understandable her feelings, it would be easier to empathize with her, maybe not justify her jelaousy, but at least understand why she is so touchy about Jin.
  7. Well it is the official one, though if it wasn't because it's said out loud by the game they are in love and Haku's scene, it would seem is a one sided crush on Tsubaki's side. Jin shows concern about her, but it hardly looks romantic for him.
  8. Say, well sorry for bringing this again, but didn't have time to reply before. This is not a rant, btw, but my apologies if it comes out as one: I think the problem that makes Jin's development seem halted is not only he still has the niisan mde untouched, he is overall the same outside wanting to chase down Tsubaki. While it is understandable if you think that they aren't rushing things so his growth comes as well done, I think it wouldn't have hurt to have some hints he is getting better; for example tone down the nisaan mode a little bit, or reduce a bit the jerkyness. Then again in CS he went on a whole new level of epic in just a few scenes, so I guess some misunderstood (myself included) some moments of inspiration as some geniune instant growth. But also, he did leave to train with Jubei for a while, so it makes sense to think the old cat actually helped him to overcome a few things in their time together, use his powers or something, everything pointed out he was working on his issues directly aside his epic moments in CS, so the slow process comes as confusing given all. However, this "pacing" argument you can use to justify's Jin's "slowed" development doesn't seem to apply to Noel who is shown to be quickly overcoming her fears and becoming brave. That's not a bad thing, she really needed it and I really like she's actually becoming competent. Say, this is more of a personal thing, but personally what makes me worry a bit too much about his growth is his overall "small" role in the story so far, despite being promoted as the game's third main character after Ragna and Noel. In CT he was posed as a threat to be swatted aside by Ragna, in CS it wasn't until the very end he went into the main heroes wagon, but so far there have been only setups and people saying "you will be important"m but nothing really has paid off. Now comes CP and while he is in the quest to save Tsubaki, everything points Noel will basically be the one to get it done, no mentions to the power of order, no mentions to his involvement in the Ikaruga war, even his romance with Tsubaki has been barely explored by his side of the story, we get many thoughts on it from Tsubaki though. If Jin wasn't promoted as a main character there would be no problem, though. Interviews that mention how Ragna and Noel and Saya will actually have relevance and keep leaving Jin out despite he is also part of that family can make you really paranoid with this whole deal (then again I am aware that's a personal issue). You can argue that Hakumen covers Jin's lack of importance, but I dunno, I really can't unsee those two as completely different characters, not only they have different personalities, they exist in the same time and space, they have different lifes that shaped them differently. I am sorry for the long post and for insisting on this point. Carry on, guys.
