NEW ENGLAND THREAD *(A fusion of states and Shit talk)*
blueNINE replied to Otakuchin's topic in Offline Community
It's a shame indeed, but BG should hold us down. I preferred DM, but BG should do the job. Mike and Meghan (from DM) might have another space for us eventually, though. We will see. Sick. Who's running it? Less than two weeks now. For which tournament? -
That would be me! And you, sir, are the Johnny player that I never got to play...heh. I'm glad it seems you can make it to FFA! I'm looking forward to getting some games in. Hopefully I'll see you while I'm over there and we can play some more. I'll be arriving on Tuesday the 5th and leaving on Monday the 11th of January (though I'll be at Anime Los Angeles from Friday 'til Sunday evening).

Yesh, the thread is still up -- http://www.aksysgames.com/forums/topic/263. However, most of the community posts here, not on the Aksys forums, and so there haven't been many responses there. This is true. As I posted before, I heard from Aksys, and they suggested I contact Arc System Works. And that is just what I will do this week. So if anyone would like to post their suppose before this goes in, please do so now!

Still going, still planning to bring a PS3 with SFIV and a PS2 with GG. I noticed that I'm not on the list of people bringing GG setups. Battlegrounds should be fine for the tournament. As previously mentioned, ACT was there once, and though I preferred DM, the venue was pretty good, and definitely got the job done. While it is not right next to a Burger King, there is food nearby (including a Papa Gino's across the street). As for the issue of space...it was mostly fine, apart from the table used for the MtG (or whatever card game) tournament, but I realized that if they were to turn that table by 90°, there would be plenty of room. To me, with no DM, BG is the ideal location to move to at this point. Oh...and get hype for Saturday!

Nooo... That's really a shame. It has been fun, and we will see you on the 21st.

What's good, SoCal?! It turns out my band, The Spoony Bards (video game/anime cover group), will be playing at Anime Los Angeles, and so I will be in L.A. for a few days. I definitely want to play some games while I'm down there! From what it seems, FFA and AI are generally the best places for that, at least for GG (and maybe also for SFIV). Is that right? Also, it might be possible for me to play during the con, if anyone is interested. You can just let me know. Anyhow, I just wanted to give a heads up. Looks like I'll be free to play on Wednesday and maybe Thursday before the con. Also, Sanoshi and Jo -- I remember meeting you at Evo! I hope we can get more casuals in while I'm over there.

I'm in! GG, SFIV, and TF. Finally, indeed. Level up that Ky, son!

I think a more definitive name for this tournament series would be great. Any ideas?

(Spoke with him about it earlier.) -
I just read your entry about Evo and SBO. Thanks for posting all of that, man. It was cool to read about your experience at SBO in so much detail!

GG is still alive. If you go to ACT (or any of the major tournaments), you will see. I said what's up when you posted earlier, Psyco. Haha. Why don't you go to some tournaments? Shame that Shibuya is still in NC. -

Will definitely be going to ACT and the next DM tournament (which seems to need a definitive name, by the way). -
Sweet. I am down for GG, SFIV, TF, and maybe T6 if I somehow learn to play it by then. (Maybe if Springfield teaches me the game...)

Find those rides, people! Kona, 4:30 p.m. is hardly too late -- this will probably go until around midnight or so. Maybe you can get a ride from CT? Aren't you on the way from there? People can come as early as noon on Saturday. See you then! -

I am down to go to Sarge's, if people would really like to do that. I think Springfield or Amherst would be better as a central location, though, especially considering New Hampshire. You coming on the 19th? Hehe. http://sargescomics.com/ It is very cool. They have some TVs in the basement, and let us play there for free.
