On the topic of the 6A jump combos, is it worth mixing up an air throw into that, ever? For example, > jc. > j. > jc. > j. > + Basically replace the with +. I can only get it to cancel early in the last j., after a couple frames it doesn't seem to wanna take. Anyway it does slightly better damage as I recall, and it's a nice change of pace from but it's techable (and how). So yeah, is it worth ever going for that? (Also, I got all giddy when I found out a combo I'd picked up after a couple tries in practice mode is a BnB. I was just there to make sure I could do all the moves so I didn't waste time in Story mode, haha.) Edit: wait, apparently the can be cancelled into a throw, too, but with a rapid cancel. Worth the heat, in that case? If you RC into a throw, does that give your opponent the extended tech window, or not? I should read the general threads.

I can answer both questions in one fell swoop: I don't know! No but seriously I'm a scrub. The only person I've actually played GG with picks random and mashes until I finally let him do something else. I know the basics but I haven't picked a character and I can't do much beyond basic gatlings -> super. I haven't even really touched GG in a couple months now. BB I'm a little better with since I've gotten in a few games online but other than that my only competition has been story mode so far. I've been using Arakune since I got a decent hold on him pretty quickly, and other than Ragna/Jin I haven't really tried anyone else. As for tournaments, well, that should be pretty obvious. But yeah I'd love to come up and play some time, worst that could happen is I get my ass kicked over and over again, right?

Gwyrgyn meant "biggest online advertising-laden pseudo-game community." Also, forum RP is bad enough, but on Gaia? Jesus Christ, man. Anyway, what were we talking about? Viper = SNK? I don't get the reference, as I rarely play SNK fighters. Played the shit out of Garou back on GameTap, though. I should get GameTap again, damn.

IMO there aren't any GG players that aren't/weren't SF players. Even if you didn't play Street Fighter... you've played Street Fighter. I like how we're both using IMO wrong, too.

I'd say use the Request an Avatar Thread in Zepp Museum but I'm the only one answering requests right now as far as I can tell. If you want anything specific you can just PM me. And if there's casuals my odds of attending just shot up to about 85%. It's only about an hour away, too, and last I checked gas is cheaper than hotels. Wait what the fuck there's an arcade about an hour away from me with Area 51(!!!), Tower of Doom, Sunset Riders, MOONWALKER(!!!!!), and I've never been there? That's nuts. (But, why no BB/GG cabs? Or are they just not on the list? I must investigate further. Edit: oh, console room. Boss!)

You have Photoshop CS3 right? The animation is actually pretty straightforward in it, although DoomieJ's avatar provided a unique challenge because the sprites for the EXE Beast are all broken up within the square image. So you gotta get all the frames, adjust them within themselves to form the actual image, THEN animate it. But basically if you can make layers you can make animation in CS3, it's very easy. I wish I had some of my old avatars around still, but I rather foolishly cleaned out my website.

I actually picked up a dafont pack as a torrent, it had every font on there as of a year ago. My Windows XP installation on another drive has like 4,500 fonts installed. Loading the text tool in Photoshop takes about a minute. I'm trying to be more careful this time around, especially since my hard drive is on its last legs.

When you pick a font "genre," if you will, there's a text box at the top (between the menu and the listings) that you can add your own text to. Fonts that allow it will show that text instead of their names.
