  1. Hey man, saw your thread and wanted to throw out a couple tips for you. One, you on XBL or PSN? I'd be willing to throw a couple games at you if you're on XBL. Two, for your combos... I'm still pretty new to Noel, and I fuck up a lot of relatively easy combos. When I notice it, I can always attribute it to one thing: I'm going too damn fast with the inputs. BlazBlue (and most fighting games for that matter) won't accept early inputs and just buffer that in for you. It's not nice like that. For combos, especially on characters like Arakune and Hakumen who don't have a lot of gatlings, it's all about the timing. Don't rush the inputs, but don't take too long, either. The biggest part of pulling off combos is learning what the timing on each move is. Vary your timing when you drop a combo, try waiting a little bit longer on that next hit. I guarantee you if you just take it smooth and hit at the right time the combos won't be a problem.

  2. I managed to convince my friends to attend the ranbats coming up soon at AL. Apparently a (relatively) lighthearted sense of competition stirs something within them.
  3. Beats Rising Sun.
  4. This might sound retarded but if you think you've got the time for it, try 46C? Just back up a step.
  5. Probably, I was just going off of what dragontamer was doing. *looks for the aforementioned corner BT loop* Edit: I see mention of similar combos but nothing like "Oh btw this is the Bloom Trigger loop" so I probably missed it. Good info is buried in 100-post threads, this is terrible.
  6. I can't get that second 236D to hit. Not without going black beat anyway. Edit: I recorded my attempts but can't find any of the cords associated with my camera. Lame. Edit: 2D > d.28D >wait> 6C > 5D > d.236D > 6C > 5D > d.5B > d.6B > d.5C > d.236D works. 4669 damage. I'll try and record it for when I find the cords. If you don't delay slightly on d.6C > d.236D you only get one hit on d.236D which ends up as 4564 damage. Successfully recorded 1-hit and 2-hit. Just need the damn cords.
  7. Part stick part suck. I'm gonna do some more practice tonight (this morning?). It's either a short or a loose wire. Either way I doubt it's any sort of major damage, if you crack it open it'll probably be really easy to fix. At worst you'll need a dab of solder.
  8. GGs Matthias, thanks for putting up with my Godawful Noel.
  9. I'm sorry. I think.

  10. The tigers and airplanes thing sounds way more awesome though.
  11. So apparently Saturday's gonna be a Game Day at AL since Thursday sucked. Awesome. Any of you guys gonna be there?
  12. I did mean that. I also mean that Jin is a woman.
  13. Only girls cosplay Jin.
  14. Because they're too scrawny to be any of the Manly Men and too tall to be Carl. Edit: and the outfit's real breezy.
  15. Oh God now I gotta start getting on Shoryuken fuck fuck fuuuuuck. Is it just Indianapolis? 'Cuz basically fuck Indianapolis. Cincinnati's closer and probably cooler. But if it's Indiana on the whole, well then maybe I check it out. Fuck Cincy's got a thread too. God dammit. Anyway, the 30th, uh... I'm actually gonna go ahead and say no, because one, I likely won't have any money by then, and two, I fuckin' hate going to Indianapolis. You don't even know. Also! Anything happening at Arcade Legends this weekend (Saturday, specifically)? I should have a bit of cash so I thought I'd make a trip out. And goddammit why won't Arcade Legends dot Professional Boards dot Commercial send me a fuckin' activation code?
  16. Want anything more specific than that?

  17. "the Indianapolis tournament" what? I mean, I probably could go, but this is the first I'm hearing of it.

  19. If you bring a 360* then I can bring my fightpad. Woooo. 'Course if not I'll just use a DS3. Fightpad > Dualshock 3 >>>>> default 360 controller. * I'd bring my 360, but it has a delicate nature and it's out of warranty.
  20. ...the fuck is that?
  21. I've got the same problems here. My brother and friend (both available for gaming on a constant basis) have no interest whatsoever in learning how to play a fighting game. If I bother them enough they'll try a couple of rounds, but: Friend will pick a character at random each round and mash like fucking crazy until something happens. Combos never exceed three hits, and accidental bursts are par for the course. He refuses to so much as glance at the movelist - if he can't do it by randomly shaking his thumbs, he won't bother. Brother will play Ky, because he learned most of his moves back when we had Guilty Gear (y'know, the original). He'll do decently enough, but it takes a miracle to get him to play more than one match. Now, Friend has suggested that with a local tournament on the horizon he'd be willing to actually "try" and learn BlazBlue. However, when pressed to try a few rounds so he can pick a main and actually get started, he complains that there's no need to rush, and that he'll start a month or so before the tournament, because "that's how long it takes to get good at these games." I've given up, pretty much. Good thing there's online play.
