  1. The Library mode, probably. Also, as was mentioned: online training confirmed.
  2. Yamanaka has claimed that even with the switch set to "quality" (exact arcade visuals) over "performance" (removed NPCs and a few minor details), the game still runs at a locked 60 outside of a few situational drops (multiple ODs, stages with lots of NPCs while stuff's going on, etc.). I'm willing to believe him, if only because he tweeted himself posing with a cardboard cutout anime girl at the Morpheus event not long after. He seems like an honest dude.
  3. I'd imagine the English patch will coincide with the American release, but there's really no way of knowing. Yamanaka didn't answer when people asked for a rough estimate.
  4. Cincinnati's premiere (only) airdasher/anime fighting game tournament series, at the one and only Arcade Legacy. Admission is $10, all tournaments are FREE TO ENTER. In lieu of a pot, we'll be offering various prizes to the winner. Your admission also gets you full access to Arcade Legacy, which includes all 50+ arcade and console games on unlimited free play. Main Game List: - Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- (PS3) - Persona 4 ULTIMAX (PS3) - Under Night In-Birth: EXE Late (PS3) - Guilty Gear XX Accent Core + R (PS3/360) - BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma (PS3) - Chaos Code: New Sign of Catastrophe (PS3) - Arcana Heart 3 LOVE MAX!!!!! (PS3) - Melty Blood (PC - WE NEED SETUPS) If I'm forgetting any games or you think there's something worth adding to the lineup, let me know. The exact schedule will be posted once we have a better idea of how many people are expected to attend. Just know that the first tournaments always start at 3pm (doors open at noon). If you're interested in sponsoring the event or helping out as a TO, let me know. Note: Being so close to NEC and the holidays, I'm not expecting a huge turnout. As such, I ask that you please post here or on the Facebook event if you plan on attending, so I know how many to expect. If the turnout is small, I may cut back on tournaments and do some more casual events instead. Rules: - All games are 2/3 rounds, 2/3 matches. Grand Finals are 3/5. - The following things are banned and their use will result in disqualification for that match: -- Gold/Shadow/EX Characters in GG. -- Unlimited characters in BB. - Winner of a match keeps character, loser can change. Anyone can change between sets. -- Arcana Heart 3: Loser can change character/arcana, winner can change arcana only. -- Melty Blood: Loser can change character/moon, winner can change moon only.
  5. The Japanese release seems to be locking her to pre-orders only, and making her widely available as late as the 18th. Digital preorders will also be receiving an unlock code for her.
  6. Monitor + PS3 with +R, Xrd (+Elphelt/Sin), BB, P4 (+DLC chars/colors/glasses), UNIEL, CC (not NSoC though).
  7. Other than the LE contents and supporting localized releases. (Hint, hint.)
  8. Thanks for posting the clarification tweet, I missed it myself. Everybody can calm the fuck down about the PS3 version again.
  9. Updated my post in the news thread with more ASW tweets regarding Xrd's console release. The image quality setting intrigues me.
  10. May's 20, minimum. We're six years after her first appearance in GG. She's likely 22-23. Her voice sounds a bit too young for me, especially for a girl trying so hard to be perceived as an adult, but it does suit the "no one takes her seriously" element.
  11. No. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NJ07F6K/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00NJ07F6K&linkCode=as2&tag=aksygameoffiw-20&linkId=PUPGCUY3DMDVKUYD
  12. There's no indication that the game itself is cross-buy. The only mention of cross-buy specifically mentions DLC. I don't know if DLC as the Japanese refer to it includes the downloadable game or not. We won't know for sure unless it comes up again, someone asks, or pre-orders go up on PSN.
  13. Air IB also resets your air options, so he can keep jumping after it.
  14. I'm excited to announce our new monthly fighting game series ALPHA ATTACK. If you remember, we had an awesome event this time last year with the same name. I've decided to carry the name on as our new monthly event. We will try to keep it at the third Saturday of each month so as not to conflict with Godlike Saturdays. If another event close enough that a bunch of people will be attending falls on the third Saturday, we will find another date. There will be 4-5 main games each event and 2-3 side events. One side event will always be free entry. We will try to keep it fresh each time with a different roster of side games and main games as they are relevant. We will also ALWAYS have at least one tournament on an arcade machine. Most likely one of our Blast City, Astro City or New Net City candy cabs. Head to head setup if space allows. This month the games are: $5 entry game 12pm - Super Smash Bros. Wii U run by $10 entry main games 1pm - Soul Calibur V (PS3) run by Trent 2pm - Persona 4 Arena Ultimax (XBOX 360) run by Scott 3pm - Injustice (XBOX 360) run by Paul 4pm - Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 (XBOX 360) run by Quentin 4pm - Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (PS3) Phil 6pm - Ultra Street Fighter IV (XBOX 360) run by Nick Side games: 3pm - Mystery Game (various consoles) $3 entry - run by AL 4pm - UNIEL (PS3) $5 entry - run by Circuitous 5pm - Akatsuki Blitzkampf (arcade) FREE entry - run by AL 6pm - Guilty Gear AC+R (PS3) $5 entry - run by Circuitous Location: Arcade Legacy 662 Cincinnati Mills Dr Cincinnati, OH 45246 Cost: $10 venue fee. PLEASE POST HERE IF YOU CAN BRING A SETUP. DISCOUNTS ARE FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. Note: The tournament will be taking place in the center court of the mall, not the arcade! Tons of space, but if you want to play arcade games, you'll have to head to the arcade. Please keep your TOs informed! Setup List: - Circuitous, full setup GG/P4/UNIEL - JetM, full setup GG/P4/UNIEL Tournament entries listed above. Stream: http://www.twitch.tv/arcadelegacy Payout: All games have a standard top 3 payout. 1st place gets 70% of the pot, 2nd gets 20% of the pot, and 3rd gets 10%. The free side game will have a prize.
  15. While the DLC is free, you can download it even without owning the game. It'll stay registered to you, and you can use it once you do get the game.
  16. It was a good reason. It's why I'd pick her if I was just picking someone up at random. I wasn't attempting to discuss her design, I was discussing a reason she might get picked. Do people really not see the difference?
  17. Now instead of getting thrown after it we can get punched. Joy of joys~! It's really more of a combo tool than a reversal now, anyway. At least Heavenly is invincible into active frames now, you can actually use it as an anti-air.
  18. A specific thread is always a better place to discuss a thing.
  19. The terminology makes perfect sense in 3D. When you're blocking high, anything coming at your body (Highs, Mids) are blockable. When you're blocking low, you're only blocking your feet. Highs go over your head, but mids still make contact. You're only blocking your feet, so you eat the hit to the head. It doesn't suit 2D games perfectly, since only certain attacks are overhead with no real regard for the animation. But the terminology is short (mid vs. overhead, and all single kanji in Japanese) so it's easy to use. It's worth understanding.
  20. Probably not with this revision. ASW's got a pretty clear track record as far as quantity and schedule of DLC characters. I also wouldn't expect any returning characters to be DLC at any point. I can imagine ASW and the fans both seeing that as a bit of a betrayal - here's your favorite character back, just 800 yen! We'll find out eventually, though.
  21. Behold the power of compromise. Post about Leo here. Maybe this topic can stay somewhat useful, we had a pretty decent run going for a while.
  22. To keep the general news/gameplay disucssion thread from getting ridiculously cluttered, please post all your Leo hype/speculation here. Thank you for your cooperation.
  23. (btw we actually have a rule on Dustloop about stupid image macro posts. Maybe avoid those.)
  24. Holy shit it's like you peered directly into the depths of my soul. If you want to understand why, look at your own post history. There is, in fact, a substantial difference between discussing a character's gameplay based on seeds of knowledge that we have from videos and descriptions, and straight-up guessing with no basis at all. The latter is what I'd prefer to avoid. It doesn't feel like a difficult thing, but maybe I'm weird.
