  1. Just some details: The Junpei is Sorashido, a very good Shadow Labrys player. He fights Yamashita (Mitsuru/Narukami).
  2. That's actually a pretty good question. No idea. I know for sure that the fireball is not a multi-hit attack, thus, it should disappear in contact with the following bullet if it were a normal projectile. I don't think that will happen though, it will be pretty shitty since you're gonna get hit anyway. Also, I've seen some players reflect fireballs with the DP rather than normal bat attacks. The invul might help against multi-hit ones, I guess. Sucks that you lose HP while doing it though.
  3. His first Homerun super has 2 variations. One is just the swing and the other one will make Trismegistus throw a fireball for Junpei to hit. His second Super (Awakening one) makes Trismegistus fly through the whole screen and grab the opponent, then, he comes back for Junpei to strike. Please do note that this isn't a command grab, the opponent can block it. The third super (Victory Cry) is his Install. This super will activate immediately after you reach 10 Runs, does not cost SP and will cover Junpei in a golden aura. It grants him HP/SP Regeneration and better combos/damage. His run speed is pretty average, I wouldn't say is good or bad. You can check all his supers and some combos watching the videos below. Video 01 Video 02
  4. I'm pretty sure he tried already but had no clue what he's supposed to do with the character. Regular Junpei can get 10 Runs straight from an AoA near corner, shouldn't be too hard to pass that with new cancels. Anyway, I'm not very interested in Shadows right now but I do want to see if players can come up with more ideas later on. I also feel that ASW might buff them in the future, the fact that they straight up buffed them in a previous patch seems to show that they care about Shadows and want them to be competitive.
  5. Leisure Land Akihabara Tournament Part 1 一 Part 2 一 Part 3 一 Part 4 一 Part 5 一 Part 6 一 Part 7 一 Part 8 一 Part 9 EDIT: It seems parts 3 to 9 are casuals. I don't have the original source of these videos, they weren't uploaded on Nico. Probably taken from a stream by the uploader or something.
  6. Hum, well, getting a Base will reset Strikes, so if you focus on swinging the Bat near them (hit or block) you can get rid of Strikes one way or another. I still hope this gets fixed though. As for Shadow Junpei, I don't really know. I tried searching for players but it looks like no one plays him. The top S.Junpei has 300 PSR and doesn't play him at all, probably just messed around with it. I'd say Shadow Berserk combos would be interesting canceling specials into specials with clean hits but that's it.
  7. To all of you interested in Junpei, please do know that his forum is up to date and full of footage. You're all welcome to discuss what you want about him in the discussion thread as well. :3
  8. Yeah, same thing in the original trailer. It will probably be the last one, at least involving the P3/P4 storyline.
  9. I agree, shame that it happened to Europe. Also, I just noticed that the north american version will also be released on Xbox. Kinda cool.
  10. Atlus USA uploaded an English teaser for the north american version. Slated for Fall 2014 on PS3 and Xbox360.
  11. Yeah, the two versions were the same and they wanted the game to sell well in Japan. That's why it was locked. Also, on that subject, Atlus USA uploaded an english teaser for P4U2. I knew they would take out Suplexes and Ultras from the title. Slated for Fall 2014, I wonder if they will region lock again.
  12. 50 Minutes of Sorashido (Junpei) Matches
  13. Yeah, that variation is pretty hype. Also, do you know how to get a Clean hit from a Homerun super? I saw in some combo videos that it lets you combo into the Awakening one if you manage to get it right.
  14. Well, yeah, I did mentioned that his ability to deflect projectiles is good for neutral game but... It gives one base? Didn't know that at all. It might actually be pretty good against zoning characters. Does the fireball need to hit them to work? Can't wait to try him, summer please.
  15. Ok, let's try to spark some discussion in this thread. After watching tons of videos and asking people who play the game about this character, I think I have some idea what Junpei is capable of in this game. This is only my opnion about the character considering the info I've gathered. First off, the basics. Junpei is a "Power Up" character who starts kinda weak and gets stronger if you play him right. Some other characters who also are power ups: Labrys, Izayoi, A.B.A, Frank West etc. To maximize Junpei's potential, you have to get at least 10 Runs (Levels). He gets levels by basically hiting his opponent with the bat having all bases full. It's a pretty easy way to level up in my opnion, the only problem is that you need momentum. If you started the match taking damage or dealing damage is something pretty important for the character. Of course you can turn the tides after a bad start, but it will be hard. When Junpei finally hits 10 Runs, he activates the Bropei Install and gets much better overall. He gains the following things: - Clean Hits. With this, he can do longer and more damaging combos with his bat. - Can apply good corner carry. - Gains a pretty nice okizeme with 5D in the corner. - HP keeps regenerating (except when taking damage). - SP keeps going up. His Install never goes off after activated. It stays active until the end of the match. It's very important to reach 10 Runs as soon as possible. Taking all that into consideration, I separated his strenghts and weaknesses myself: Strenghts - Good pressure game. He can cancel some normals on block with jumps and hops, his sliding is an overhead AND a low, 5AA makes Junpei go forward and is jump canceleable, some special moves have super amor and so on. - Solid neutral game. Aside from good jumping normals he can use for that, he also has Deathbound (which is a very interesting tool) and a pretty good low profile Sweep to help him in some situations. The fact that he can strike projectiles with his bat and return them to the opponent also helps his neutral against some characters. - Good defensive options. His Furious action is useful and his guard cancel is pretty good. Weaknesses - Needs to get 10 Runs to do what the cast can do normally with little resources. (except for HP/SP regeneration). - Outside of Victory Cry Install, Junpei has absolutely no damage and lacks corner carry. He also has problems getting knockdowns. - Can't combo properly midscreen without using SP. As you can see, Junpei is pretty weak outside of his install. When he gets it going though, he can be pretty dangerous and get rid of his main weaknesses. I think the reason why players think he's not strong is because he can't keep up with the cast outside of his Install and thus, needs to work more. If I had to separate Regular Junpei and Install Junpei, I'd say regular Junpei is about as strong as Labrys tier-list wise and Install Junpei is strong enough to be together with Yosuke and Akihiko around the mid-high section (considering both of them are still there in this version). To wrap it up, I think he's pretty viable for competition. He's going to have problems in some match-ups to get his Install going but in others, he'll get it no problem. Anyway, If you disagree with something or want to share your thoughts about the character, feel free to do so.
  16. Hype denied. There are a alot of secret things in this game to be honest though. I wouldn't be surprised.
  17. Is that glorious Adachi!? Can we start to hype ourselves or nay
  18. "Though not confirmed yet, it has been rumored that this sequel might be region-free, as opposed to Persona 4 Arena which was locked." There's no reason to region lock if the release is going to be JP only for a while. If they announce simultaneuosly releases like the first game though, then the lock will probably happen.
  19. James translated on Shoryuken.
  20. Couple of Sho matches got uploaded on nico. Take a look at this one. The Sho player uses the "High Speed Movement" and "Dodge" pretty well.
  21. Chie can only combo off of it in the corner iirc. It is hard to punish, yes, but this DP only stays active for 3F. Sure, you can mash, but everytime you mash, you get that portion of blue HP which can lead to your death if you're not careful. I'm not really trying to defend it though, I think this DP is pretty good all things considered. Just pointing out some things. Also, the first hit needs to be blocked low, it isn't unblockable.
  22. I don't know really. I didn't think they would make a sequel to P4U in the first place and when they announced it, I got really, really surprised, I think it's difficult to keep going since P4's story is almost completed. They could make another one for P5 and so on but that wouldn't be right, I mean, it would be a whole new cast, thus, a whole new game. Anyway, Atlus and ASW did great with P4U and hopefully the sequel will do well too. I hope they keep going while keeping the old cast playable and adding more characters, if possible.
  23. I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that P4D is actually the last chapter in the P4 story. So yeah, canon.
  24. According to Xie, Aigis needs to be at 0 bullets, no persona cards, broken Orgia and 150 SP to use hers.
  25. Apparently, at least 3 characters can execute a hidden super for 150 SP. Narukami, Aigis and Kanji. If Kanji can, I believe everyone can do too. lol As for if they're real or not, Xie saw some of them.
