  1. i wanna know more about axl's stance. it looks very good. it seems that while he's in it, hitting him OR his chains results in a counterhit. the only person who had any real success against it in that vid was the final ky player and usually he did so by putting a projectile on screen right before the axl entered stance (ie: after a blockstring that left axl at range) or just getting hit a bunch and eventual hitting a chain. so how do you think people ought to deal with that kind of fullscreen pressure? superjump/AD in? but he kinda has that angle covered right? maybe preemptively sticking out a normal or using some kind of invincible move...i dno. i'm sure this kind of thing must be a challenge for pot players.

  5. man... it might just be me but the one thing i really noticed about this video is that meter seems to build quite a bit faster in this game. for example at 1:42 in the video, lust shaker on hit builds about an extra 25% tension while at 2:19 it builds around 10% or more on block! No one ever seemed to be lacking meter despite using quite a bit of it. i think this is really positive because now it seems like using a regular old RC to extend combos etc. becomes much more viable from a resource management perspective! hopefully this leads to some creative stuff.
  6. ogawa/nemo/fab have been tweeting quite a lot about the game. if anyone has pretty good japanese (i certainly dont) want's to check those out, you might find some interesting opinions.

  8. yeah despite the complaints against frc's etc. being an artificial wall/ deterrent for new players at least the rules behind RC's/FRC's were very simple to understand. it seems like by trying to simplify that system they've kind of made it a lot more arbitrary and needlessly complex. maybe they could have just made frc windows quite a bit larger or something. of course i dont want to pass judgement too soon because i havent even touched the game or seen much of it even.
  9. i was under the impression that you still would have to block accordingly (ie: that low moves would beat a standing blitz shield) but maybe someone with a deeper understanding of this could clarify.
  10. i just checked and i guess its just those inputs neutral to BS standing and down + those inputs to BS low
  11. i think that general game speed and pace are kinda seperate things. guilty's pace is pretty high because the movement etc is fast (obviously) but also the length of combos is considerably shorter than other games of similar speed. from what i saw of those vids the pace seemed like gg to me...

  13. i was wondering if someone could clarify the changes to the clash system. i was under the impression that there would be several different kinds of reactions based on the buttons used (and super wacky anime mode if two very powerful moves clashed which i know is still in it). is this still the case? i thought i remembered at some point hearing about a change back to a more XX style clash system but i cant verify it so maybe i imagined it.
  14. damage does seem pretty high... at 5:13 zato goes into a simple combo in the corner with hardly any risc bar built up and takes off a huge chunk of millias bar. for now i think thats cool as i like the pace/riskiness of high damage games but im also kinda scared that the combo system hasn't been explored yet and who knows what kind of infinites or tods or whatever nonsense people might find with this already very high damage output.
  15. disappearing/reappearing jackets is the hot new thing in the world of GG. i'm so pysched! not even scared of the fact that i expect it to be quite a bit different than the AC mold. in fact that makes me even more excited/curious to see how it winds up!

  19. i've run kind of a stupid problem and im not sure if this is where i ought to ask it but i'll do it anyhow. i finally got tired of waiting for +R and decided to get a JP account/codes. this all went relatively smoothly until i finally downloaded AC+ from JP psn and waited for it to get patched only to find that i still am stuck with AC+ as opposed to +R even after the initial 231 mb patch. does anybody know what i did wrong and how can i get the +R patch?
