  7. Yep. I have the physical US version preordered (I like to have the game box, and the preorder bonuses were nice!). Providing that JP version isn't region locked, I'll download it day 1, since I'll be able to play it 4-5 weeks before I'll get the US version. The wait would probably kill me otherwise, too hype for this game!
  8. Close 5C is +1? Ok, a little theory fight on blockstrings. If you start your blockstring and don't use 5A and 5C in the start/middle of it, you could technically end it with 5AA>cl.5C and be +1. Why this should work is because 5AA pulls you closer, letting cl.5C come out. From there you should be able to 5A/2A again and beat mashing?
  9. Can someone confirm this: if I want to shield a multihitting move so that I get the -3 frames of blockstun, I just need to Guard Shield the second last hit, and I will automatically Shield the last hit? Is this correct?
  10. Ok, so I was messing around with Akatsuki's B+C reflector. I noticed that when you reflect a projectile in the air and press 2/1B+C when you do it, Akatsuki goes upwards. I was reflecting Ories 22C for lulz (like 11 B+C in a row), and tried the same in the air. Normal air reflector keeps your momentum, but j2 B+C flies you up. You can imagine it was pretty hilarious when I started j.2 B+Cing Ories 22C and Akatsuki starts flying up with each reflector "My people need me"
  11. So about Orie. Seems you can punish her 214>214A followup (where her persona does the 2 spin slashes) if you shield it. Just Guard Shield the first spin slash and you automatically shield the next, then dash 5B.
  12. Oh you're right! Yeah if you replace the first cl.5C with 66B th combo deals around 100 more damage. I just thought that raw 5C did more dmg than raw 66B so it must be the optimal route. Didn't think it would affect prorations like this!
  13. To join on the discusson of 6C corner combos, I improved mine from a few pages back: 6C>66>cl.5C>cl.5C>236A>f.5C>8 j.B C>land>j.2C>5C>6C>214B. 4071 dmg with vorpal, 3705 without. You can change the ender with 22B/C or super for more damage (for super replace 6C with 236A>41236D for 5141dmg w/vorpal) It's a bit tough linking the first two close 5C (you have to let them drop quite low for the first cl.5C) but I think this one of the max damage corner punish routes!

  18. But can you get a combo from AA grim reaper CS? It launches them so high and they tech before you can reach them. Seems better to save the vorpal.
  19. I was thinking about this. If you CS and check if they're in the air and Grim Reaper them, wouldn't want to use that meter like this: CS>623A>22C>combo? IIRC if you them with 623A/B while they're in the air and cancel to 22C, the last hit whiffs and you get a combo.

  22. I think that was 5C > 5C, not 66B > 5C For example, I use this combo when I hit raw 6C in the corner: 6C > 665C > 5C > (vertical jump) j.B > j.C > land > j.2C > 5C > (6C > 22B/C) OR (236A > 41236D)

  24. I can't think of much better combos atm. I'm getting my own copy tuesday, so I've only played a bit at my friends place. Question: how do you do diagonal jump j.B>j.C>j.A>land>stuff? Just BCA really fast or is there a specific timing or height? Tried it a couple of times but couldn't really pull it off.
  25. What would be a good use of Chain Shift in combos? I imagine in the corner something like 214B>CS>j.2C>stuff? Also does Akatsuki have practical Veil Off combos? He can't really combo after his EX moves so you can't do stuff like EX into EX into super, unless I'm wrong? Thoughts?
