BlazBlue Calamity Trigger - How has it aged?
TAI-X replied to SkagMaster's topic in BlazBlue Gameplay
It must have been hard for CT Arakune players to adjust to needing multiple hits for a curse in CS. Anyway, there's really no reason to play CT anymore except for the story mode, and there's a nicely summarized version of that available in CSE. -
DS:R VS & VH X360 Tags & Online discussion
TAI-X replied to Kyle's topic in Vampire Savior Online Play
If anyone still plays this on XBL, I'm looking to get back into it. It's almost impossible to find randoms anymore. -
Counterpoint.

The PS3 has been out for a long-ass time. Many Japanese developers are very used to working on it by now and highly attuned to its intricacies. Also, if the games were on PS4/Xbone they would feel compelled to make the graphics much more advanced and detailed to justify the hardware, which would be too much for them to handle.

I maintain that SNKP obviously does not have the resources or the experience to develop for next-gen at this time.
-
Does using custom soundtracks have an adverse effect on the game's performance and framerate, like it does in Macross 30?

[FB] To the Gundam VS community, I want to have a simple discussion
TAI-X replied to RoboP's topic in Gundam Extreme Versus
A Gundam game getting localized by Bandai is never, ever, ever going to happen again. Enjoy the game and be glad it's region-free. -
They're not ready to develop for next-gen. The recruitment notice for their new SamSho/KOF projects specified that the games would be on PS3/360.
-
They're not worried about their own games being pirated because of GGPO. They're worried about being mentioned in the same breath as emulators and pirates.
-
As easy as it is to forget, those old arcade roms are technically no less illegal than games that just came out yesterday. The only legal roms are these ones.
-
GGPO has the stigma of being associated with emulation and piracy, and a lot of companies won't touch it because of that.
-
Bought from Solaris Japan. Best import game sales site no one knows about. I can vouch for their great customer service.
-
Looks like the Wayne's World reference flew over your head. As far as priorities go for Arc, getting the +R patch on PS3 to Americans is at about rock bottom. Maybe deeper. They're not going to directly make any money off it, after all.
-
People seem to be allergic to doing that. I don't know why. 360 will let you play Overture though, which I think all GG fans should give a chance.
-
Get a 360, philistines. The NA PSN patch is coming out about the same time that monkeys fly out of my butt.

Dengeki FIGHTING CLIMAX: Announced at TGS.
TAI-X replied to InWithTheAshes's topic in Misc Fighter Central
If only Dengeki owned Attack on Titan and Kill la Kill. -
I groaned when I saw it in action. Looks like it was made in Flash. They're obviously trying to ape Skullgirls, but without any idea of how to design interesting characters, animations, or fighting mechanics. This game and Death Cargo are the modern equivalents of shit-tier 90's fighters like Bloodstorm and Kasumi Ninja that sold themselves entirely on gore and lurid flashiness. (MK gets a pass for its iconic status, relatively high production values and for UMK3 actually being a solid fighter.)

Dengeki FIGHTING CLIMAX: Announced at TGS.
TAI-X replied to InWithTheAshes's topic in Misc Fighter Central
Aside from Shizuo, Akira, and the assists, this has one of the blandest fighting game rosters I've seen in a long time. It's not just that I think that 90% of recent anime is garbage, but the characters are so incredibly boring. -
[FB] The DLCs List and Discussion Thread [Last Update : 2/14]
TAI-X replied to Setsuna Yuki's topic in Gundam Extreme Versus
It's not happening. Aside from the overpriced, DRM-infested Unicorn Blu-rays, Bandai has completely given up on the Gundam franchise (and anime/manga altogether) outside of Asia, because it wasn't making the megabux they wanted. Shin Gundam Musou and Gundam Breaker aren't getting localized either. -
About as soon as Shenmue III. They had their chance to patch it in, they didn't deliver. The port is already full of bugs and has dire loading times; FK obviously hasn't the faintest idea of how to program netcode.
-
They went with 360 because XBL has the better online infrastructure and the system was doing fairly well in Japan at the time. I own Overture, but haven't spent much time with it because I suck at strategy games. I'd be interested in playing with someone online if they want to try and teach me.
-
FYI, Isuka PC has been available on Direct2Drive (now Gamefly Digital) for years. They shouldn't bother begging for more ports. Arc stopped porting to PC after BBCT because they got burned by piracy too hard.
-
As we saw with Metaknight in SSBB, these things snowball quickly once someone takes the initiative to ban. If Kokonoe is not rebalanced before EVO (very likely at this point), it's practically a given that she will be banned from the event and every other tourney that matters.
-
I was probably wrong. Maxi Boost loketesters said that the game looks no better than previous versions and seems to be still running on PS3 hardware. So the Maxi port will probably be Bandai's Gundam swan song on PS3 before they completely move the franchise to PS4. I'm fully expecting the first PS4 Gundam game to be another Crossfire-level stinker before they get it right.

If you have a physical copy with a pass, I've heard that the codes are authorized through the game's own infrastructure instead of a PSN download, which hopefully means you can use them with US accounts. Don't quote me on that though.
