Have to say I'm disappointed. Nothing against goth lolis, but this one is an incredibly boring and unoriginal design. I can also see her low height possibly causing problems, i.e. Yoda in SCIV. At least we get a new stage out of the deal. I'm actually surprised it took this long for DOA to get a loli. I guess they'd have trouble including one in the Xtreme games, at least outside Japan.

US release in less than a week and no one's talking about it? I know everyone's occupied with BBCP right now, but come on guys.

This really should have had an arcade release, or at least a PS3 console port that got updated to Cross.

Indeed. It seems that most of the game's remaining players have migrated back to Ausf Achse. Bit of a shame, as I really like Perfektewelt's new aesthetics, and EN-EINS looks like a great addition to the roster. I emailed Subtle Style a while ago asking about a console/PC port of Perfektewelt, and they confirmed that they had no plans for one.

Most of the extra colors are unlocked in the gallery. Terumi and Kokonoe come with their extra colors. There are two more colors for each character that are paid DLC. -

DLC obtained on one PSN account can be used by all accounts on the same system, as long as the account that made the download hasn't been deleted from it. -
If you're going to play something as a warm-up to Xrd, the best choice would actually be #Reload.

You Growler. With someone other than Azrael, I guess you have to jump away and hope for the best.

Had a lot of trouble with this. Kokonoe needs time to arrange her setups and defenses, and that douche Terumi is too aggressive and speedy. Trying to out-pressure him didn't fare much better. Any tips?

I randomly stumbled on this bug in Challenge Mode. I'm absolutely sure it is not a controller issue, because I was still able to navigate the pause menu fine. Has anyone else seen it, or has any idea what might cause it? When the game started, I wasn't able to control either character, and the function buttons wouldn't respond. The only button that would was start. If I selected demo play for the challenge through the pause menu, the Azrael dummy would do the inputs instead of my character. I think the game somehow got confused and thought I was controlling dummy Azrael, but because he's locked out of player control in challenge mode I couldn't control either character. Though, it was somehow able to transfer the demo play inputs onto him, even though it just resulted in random flailing. Going back to the challenge menu would cause the bug to happen again. I had to go all the way back to the main menu to reset it.

Capcom must have lost the FSN license in Japan now. I was hoping for a PS3 release of the PS2 version.

Considering dropping my Kagura main because he has such a rough time with zoning and speedy characters. Against Tao, I get hit out of pretty much everything except his A and B normals, and those are way too short and limited to reliably catch her. Flash kick can sometimes do it but I get punished hard if it whiffs. If Kagura can get, say, a 3C knockdown he can get a pretty good rhythm going, but it's so hard to get one against certain characters.

Nicalis is one of the most incompetent VG publishers I know of. They sat on the La-Mulana remake license for an absurd amount of time before spontaneously canceling the game and handing it off to another company. Handhelds aren't a proper home for fighting games due to issues with controls and multiplayer, and the PS4/Xbone are waaaay more powerful than needed to run Yatagarasu. I guess putting it on PS3 and adding the AoC update to all versions would mean they actually know what they're doing, though, which they've proven to not be true.

How do I combo from Black Hole?
-
It really depends on how much demand there ends up being. You could still get sealed units of Aksys' Deathsmiles "limited edition" years after release in many places.

You won't see many Kokonoes online for a while because she's a technical character with a steep learning curve. Not enough to stop me from subbing her, though.

[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion

If Robo-Ky and Order Sol make it in, I'm betting it will only be as cosmetic alternate costumes for Ky and Sol. They're not going to prioritize them over popular or new characters. Shame that probably neither of my +R mains are going to make it. -
I don't hate the arcade lobbies as much as some of you folks do, but I wish that ranked match wasn't a wasteland for US players. I think it's because no one knows how to restrict searches to their own region.

Under Night In-Birth, PS3 release confirmed (Jul 24, 2014)
TAI-X replied to Hecatom's topic in Under Night In Birth
"Jewpuncher" is a stupid-ass nickname and I wish people would stop using it. Akatsuki Blitzkampf has nothing to do with Nazis outside of a vaguely militaristic theme, and all the uniforms are much more Japanese in style than German. -

I think it's a given that this will be the "SFIV version" of GGXX. Now, I'm not saying it'll be as slow or degenerate as SFIV (which is clearly not true at this point), but they are simplifying and streamlining a lot of mechanics as well as adding a flashy coat of paint with cinematic cut-ins to make it palatable for new audiences. We will all play and enjoy Xrd a lot, but I think +R will remain the de facto ultimate version of the game. -
Under Night In-Birth, PS3 release confirmed (Jul 24, 2014)
TAI-X replied to Hecatom's topic in Under Night In Birth
MvC3 remains popular primarily because of the Marvel characters, everything else is secondary. Marvel properties are huger than ever nowadays, due to all the movies coming out on a constant basis. -
There was a problem with Vanilla MvC3 where using a modded controller to input left and right at the same time would allow you to block both directions at once. This was fixed in a patch so that the game interpreted it as neutral, and I'm unaware of any other games where it became an issue.

Yeah, I could see it being like MvC3 Vita, where the stages are still 3D but have all animation removed. It probably won't be that drastic though. I think we can trust Arc enough not to cut the PS3 framerate to 30, lol. -
This should have been in January. Aksys just kissed a good chunk of their US sales goodbye, aside from people who are dying to read English story mode or really want the Rachel Nendoroid. With a release gap this wide, many players will decide to import if they haven't done so already. Anyone want to guess when the Euro release will be? Ha ha.
