that's very true, so really it destroys my reasoning for hating neutral situations. lol

Eternal Wings will get you out of alot of shit.... if they eat it in the face. If it gets blocked... start lubing your asshole. I know I've used it to get out of alot of shit, mainly the far drill frc UB when latif was doing it, and he seemed to eat eternal wings every time... I still won 0 matches though. lol I really would not recoommend Eternal Wings though, unless you know they'll eat it *looks at Laqueef* *shakes fist* *loses match* *crys* Off topic - I realize that aegis UB are simple enough to escape with a good down parry, I main urien so I've had that done to me many times. The thing with the aegis UBs are that in SF3 projectiles must be blocked from their direction of origin. With aegis counting as a projectile, you can simply break gaurd with a meaty attack on the other side making a true UB. But ya, there usually is about a 1-2 block switch at the beginning but ppl eat it if they try 95% of the time. The bounce link combos are blockable to my knowledge, because I've had them get blocked... maybe my spacing was off, but I believe it's a 2 frame switch.

The problem I find with using 6H in this match, is that even with it being neutral on block it still take slayer 5 frames to jump.... and pot buster takes 3 frames. IIRC the fastest attack slayer has is 2P which comes out in 4 frames... so I don't like neutral situations, they make me wanna backdash. lol The one that crimson showed me was off of 6K during oki, so he had to block low... but it went something like this. 6K>5K>6P FRC>j.H>late j.K>land>5H>sj.H>late 5K>land>5H>PB There might have been a j.2K after the sj.H or something like that, but it's been a couple months since crimson showed me that after he served me some spanks. For combo advice, I highly recommend asking CrimsonDisaster. I've seen him do combos that make me shit bricks. lol

I have that same problem with Eddie... the only Eddie's I get to play against are Latif and on occasion Marn... so that doesn't teach me anything except how to take it like a bitch. lol The fight really is akward though. The range that you have to fight potemkin at is the same range where he is at a solid advantage. On top of that, you wont win by going D, and getting aggressive usually hands him the match. One thing that seems to help me, is to be tricky with jump cancels. Do em late, do em fast, just don't get predictable.

lol, really? He seems like one that is everywhere. I realize that these forums are new, and I guess I got a little hasty. Thanks for any input from anybody though. Anyways, I made a list of things that pot can buster you for on block. Feel free to correct me on any of these. 1. Mappa (also on hit) 2. BBU 3. Close 2H 4. Close 2D 5. Close 2S (if you don't cancel it) 6. PB 7. Crosswise Heel 8. j.H (I think you have to land deep though...) 9. 6P That's all I could think of off the top of my head, but ya... hate that shit. It seems like pokes are really limited for Slayer in this match. 5K, c.S>f.S, 2K, spaced 2H... ya not too much else. lol At least all the basics are still available though. On the up side, thanks to Pots HUGE hit box, he can be juggled for some retarded dmg. I remember Crimson showing me a combo off of 6K in the corner that did 2/3 life with only 25% tension... so ya. Make sure to learn those Pot combos for this match, it's worth it.

I guess I'm the only person who has trouble with Pot. Oh well...

It does actually work. While learning to just BDC jump FD is really a better option in 99% of the situations, it is possible to D-Step FRC out of puddle UB. The reason it works is because D-step has no startup, it's fully invicible for frames 1-6 (this is the K D-Step, P is to short and gets caught by the edge of the puddle, and S is only above the feet.) So, provided that K D-step is input on the first frame, then it gets the fuck out of there... now this is alot easier said than done, but it does work. However, like I said earlier in this post, BDC jump FD is really just a more solid option in almost every situation. What Gaurdian said about the unblockable being blocked by humans is very true though. There is usually a 1-2 frame difference in the high-low hits during the ex drill UB and the meaty puddle UB. But it is a fact that they aren't truly unblockable, but yes... due to human limitations they might as well be. But they still aren't TRUE unblockable like what Urien has in SF3 (lol projectiles must be blocked from direction of origin lol). PS. About videos where it happens, I've seen it in Boss vs. Marn, but that's the only vid of it I know. Japs just do the jump FD.

I hate this match, and rarely win it. I know that I'm not the only one that hates fighting Pot, and I'd like to know how to pull this fight out of my ass. So somebody with some experience please inform me and others. *looks at Boss* first-post hijack with combos 2S (CH) -> IAD H->5H->j.H->j.K->dj.H->dj.K->5H->j.H->j.K->dj.H->j.2K->j.D 2S (non CH), 5P-> j.K->j.2K->j.K->5H->j.H->j.K->dj.H->j.K->5H->j.H->j.K->dj.D 6P (CH) -> IAD j.H->5H->IAD j.K-j.K->5H->j.H->j.K->dj.H->dj.2K->j.D (maybe one more relaunch... I can't remember off the top of my head) 2H (CH) -> 5H->IAD j.K-j.K->5H->j.H->j.K->dj.H->dj.K->5H->j.H->j.K->dj.H->dj.2K->dj.D j.H (CH), CH DOT, CH It's Late (corner), CH It's Late (from under pressure, corner. If not, IAD H), CH Undertow, CH 6H (air hit) -> 5H->j.H->j.K->dj.H->dj.K->5H->j.H->j.K->dj.H->j.K->5H->IAD j.D That covers like, all the tensionless, CH Launches... 2D RC (Close range) -> 5H->j.H->j.K->dj.H->dj.K->5H->j.H->j.K->dj.H->j.K->5H->IAD j.D (I've got this to work anywhere on the screen.) 2D RC (Long range) -> 5H->IAD j.K-j.K->5H->j.H->j.K->dj.H->dj.K->5H->j.H->j.K->dj.H->dj.2K->dj.D 2K->2H -> (5K->K Mappa)x2-3->5K->j.S (2)->j.K->j.S (3) ->j.2K->j.D 5D -> j.Dx3->Delay j.H->j.K->j.D->j.2K->j.K->dj.H->dj.2K->j.D->j.2K->j.D 2K->2H->BBU -> 5H->sj.AD D->j.2K->j.K->5H->j.H->j.K->dj.H->dj.2K->dj.D

The way Teyah says it, makes it sound alot easier than it is... but he is right. Eddie really doesn't have actual UB (except meaty piss puddle) like say... Urien, but it's just extremely hard to block depending on which one he uses. There really is no reason to get hit by the Drill>frc>IAD j.S UB... if you get hit by that it means you weren't paying attention, but that's the easiest to block by far. With slayer, it's tricky but BDC jump FD will get you out of alot of shit in this match IMO. I know from playing with Latif that D-step will get you out of damn near every puddle UB... but you have to get the timing right and FRC it or else there was no point. For blocking during Eddie's pressure, IMHO block low the entire time, his 6K can be blocked on reaction if you pay attention. His 5K is alot faster and more dangerous and you are not gonna block that on reaction, so block low until you see and overhead and thenyou know what to do. This also helps with drill UBs since the first hit on tose is almost always gonna be low, then you just do a quick standing block and go back to low. Keep in mind though that nothing is better than match experience, so fight as many eddies as you can until you know what to do. Also for better advice than what I can provide; Crimson, Boss, and Fubar (if he ever gets on) all know this match up very well.

Kinda random, but in reference to to great post about how tier lists are at human play level and not perfect play level. I got bored and was thinking about that, and at a perfect play lvl I think Venom, Bridget, and Slayer would be some of the hardest to deal with. Venom - Lockdown from hell, amazing zoning, insane utility. Bridget - Well, a perfect bridget would just be so hard to beat. Perfect zoning... Slayer - BDC super/bite/mappa/jump/taunt every possible move that it can... it would be ridiculous.

LOL! I hate that it's true! I actually beat Marn thanks to that. lol Given though, it was casuals and (thank god) he wasn't playing his Eddie (he was Jam)... but seriously, room went silent then everybody bust out laughing. He proceeded to beast me in the next match.

I rarely use pilepunker at all unless I know I can get away with it. Even in combo, unless I'm going to do PB loop in the corner or wanna try for 5hs, PB air combo ender when I land... but really anytime I'm on the ground and I can combo into PB... I do 2D if it'll connect for knockdown. Sets up for your oki and the dmg difference isn't that big. Overall I find it to be far more advantageous. Oh, and the FB PB isn't completely safe, if you do it really close (like breathing on them close), you can be punished for it. If I remember, the attack is -5 on block after all. It just has some great pushback so you usually end up safe.

lol, I fucked up my annotation... oh well. Slayer combos go for fucking ever now... and all those j.2k. Really this is all an excuse for me missing that when I wrote it out, but ya dj.s(1 hit), dj.2k, dj.D
-
that combo works in the corner. I've done it many times, though it's not my prefered. Preferably with no tension I do c.S, j.k, j.2k, j.k, (jc), dj.s(1 hit), dj.2k, dj.D, dj.2k, dj.k, land, c.S (or 5p/5k, depends on height and distance), j.k, j.2k, j.D That combo works alot better with BBU or crosswise, but a close 2h can do it too.

Coming from slayer's point of view, this match up is obviously in my favor. Learn to space the 6P and you'll fall in love with it though. A well spaced 6P is almost uncontestable. It's definitely a harder fight for Zappa than it is for Slayer, but if you keep your spacing tight and use every summon to the best of it's abilities... you can hopefully pull through. Don't get predictable at all though, if you eat one CH combo.. it's your ass. If you see Slayer 6HS, 6P his out and combo/summon. Sadly however, I've actually never won this match up... mainly because the only Zappa I ever play against is Fubar Duck. lol I remember the good old days, back in XX when I was the only Slayer I knew. lol

Texas has way too many faust's, and lot of sol and ky. A bunch of pot, eddie, ABA, and jam. There's quite a few slayers as well. Then we have fubar laying the zappa pwn on anything that moves... goddamn him for being so good with zappa...

6.5-3.5 would be a pretty bad match up.... but eddie having that kind of match vs pot isn't suprising at all, I would say even 7-3. But really doesn't everybody have a bad match vs eddie? (I'm not including testicle, he doesn't count as a real character in my mind)

Because any others have offered good advice on this matchup??? It was nice to see how this match up looks on the other side, so that you know what your opponent expects and how they will react. It helps to know those things so that you can limit your opponents options even further. Obviously it's better for may though, just nice to know how may will react to everything.

LOL, that super has ridiculous invul. I did it on wake-up vs Sol, and I guess he was trying to bait whatever I was gonna do and beat it with a VV????? But whatever, VV clashed with it on the first hit, and then he came up with me (should have been hitting me the whole time, but I went higher than him).
-
Sol just lacks the BS he used to have. Finally a Sol I only hate for VV. lol

Sol really is just kinda average when you think about it. He's not a low tier char though, definitely. He just has an answer to most situations is the nice thing about him... but he really is only mid or upper mid tier.
