  1. So fucking close vs HH... man that really sucks. Sounds like you were repping Faust pretty hard though. You're gonna be at Evo right?
  2. Who was once a human male who's transition into, and through, puberty was in question. Now he can never go through puberty. He is a male gear, with no facial hair... and thus a gear boy. (it's in a doujin somewhere, I'll bet on it ) Gear boys just like human boys cannot be manly, only boyly.(couldn't think of anything better:8/: )
  3. Indeed Harry Potter also makes fire, therefore fire cannot be manly. The only thing that needs to be shown in order to prove that Slayer is the most manly is that he has a beard.... A BEARD! No other characters even have slight facial hair, so how can we tell they've even gone through puberty???? We can't! Therefore Slayer is the only "MAN" in the game and the only character that can be manly. All others are "boys" and thus unable to be manly. The giant slab of metal for a sword could be considered manly, if HoS wasn't still a mere boy.
  4. laughable The way you come back from that is just to point out that obviously there is nothing that can be argued in Order Sol's favor. Due to this dilemma his believers are forced into a position where they must make vague statements, and pretend to be above defending HoS's honor is order to feel a short lived false sense of victory. Truth is that is nothing that can be argued in Order Sol's favor at all when he encounters the raw manliness that is Slayer. Not to say that Order Sol's isn't manly, he is.... but Slayer put the Man in Manly.
  5. Thay can both be manly, but it must be recognized that Slayer is FAR more manly.
  6. USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS POST All of this is true and so much more. Have you even paused while Slayer is doing standing block? He gives them a "thumbs up" between blocking hits, just to let them know they're doing a great job of failing to hit him. Taunting while blocking???? Manly! And what about crouch block? He sits on his cape like a chair! Does anybody else sit on a cape? Hell no, they get on the dirty ground. Slayer is too cool for the ground. Plus he block with the smoke from his pipe, FROM HIS PIPE! That's manly. If this hasn't convinced you of Slayer's mantastic powers I present a final argument. Smokes AND has a beard - Slayer Doesn't smoke AND has no beard - HoS Makes grunts because he's probably illiterate - HoS Extremely cultured and gets the ladies - Slayer Founded a guild of Assassins - Slayer Looks bored after losing a match, and still taunts the opponent - Slayer Looks like he got knocked the fuck out - Hos Slayer = Manly Those are all 12yr olds that Johnny lured on to the ship with candy. Notice that all the "of age" women in the game think Johnny is a joke.
  7. Hey, what kind of dog is the one Ryoko has? Your gf's dog is fucking awesome lol.
  8. sounds like some pretty random times, grats on the singles tourny lulz. I wanna see pics of the hot jam player, kyosou's(?) girl if I remember. Why is it that every hot girl that plays GG is always playing jam????? Where is the love for the other characters???? Edit: Actually there might be pics of hot jam on there, but I don't know... I'm at work and pages 2-6 of your pics are all blocked because of "weapons"............ seriously?
  9. lol Slayer doesn't have to get in. If your opponent is trying to rtsd sure he doesn't, since they'll come to him. But when your opponent is the one with the momentum how advantageous is that for Slayer? Hmmmm, I'm gonna go with not very. So what happens when we fight a character with no intention of getting in, who wants Slayer to come to him? Slayer does have to get in on his opponent, he's a short range character after all. Even with 2H, unless you have 50% tension to spend you can only combo off non-ch 2H when they are within about 1/2 of the moves range. Slayer's mobility is average at best, he has no run and a short air dash. However, if he scores a knockdown at close range... it's hell for the opponent. Once you're waking up at close range vs Slayer, he can pretty much keep you there unless you have a dp move or HS exe beast. So ya, Slayer does have to "get in", but a good Slayer only has to get in once.
  10. That pretty much sums it up right there. I've had the conversation with Latif before. For all of Slayer's AMAZING damage, he doesn't get alot of opporunities do make use of it. Sure his stand alone moves are INSANE (and I mean INSANE... his pokes are ), but that doesn't mean that landing one means it's combo time. That's the reason that you really need to learn max dmg combos with him. You might get a chance for 3 combos in a round, make them count.
  11. So that Knifeman in Akiba, his name is Tomohiro Kato btw, had a (phone) blog about planning the killing spree and his trip to Akiba... wtf... seriously... wtf
  12. lol, I was just coming to post about that. He busted into Akiba in a delivery truck, killed 7 and injured 11 I believe. The deaths were 6 male and 1 female, luckily none were kids... although the youngest was only like 19. It was done on the 7th or 8th anniversary of some stabbing in Osaka (I think) where some guy killed a bunch of kids. Pretty sick shit, stay safe and and watch out for the crazy bastards with knifes.
  13. ABA probably has higher average dmg thanks to her BnB combos also being her high dmg combos. In terms of damage potential though, Slayer is the alpha and omega.
  14. Ya, bdc is slayer only. The guy above me pretty much explained how to do it, just backdash and then do a move ending it in 9 or 7. The trick is the speed that it has to be done to get the full advantage. You can bdc pretty much anything, but it's alot weaker than it used to be. bdc jump/1F jump are it's main uses since they can get you out of alot of situations in which you would otherwise have next to no options. The fdc is pretty much used for bite, which takes a little getting used to but isn't hard once you know how. You can also forward dash and then a little after he dashes, not immediately, press 9 and it'll carry alot of forward momentum into his jump. This is nice since Slayer has no run, a short dash, a short air dash, and no air brake. It'll let you gain some ground without having to dedicate your self to another move since you can still FD whatever they do... or just jH that shit. lol
  15. Those were the days, when BDC (p)Mappa was almost unstopable. Just as bad though imo, actually WAY WORSE, was back in XX when Eddie could frc the close drill.... seriously... that was bullshit. XX Learning curve: Slayer - press buttons>BDC jump>BDC everything else Eddie - invite hell>summon shadow>invite hell frc>use shadow(optional) Millia - reset, reset some more, keep reseting, I never said stop reseting Axl - 5P>2P>6K>2S :vbang: :vbang:
  16. That was really just an example. Imo though, Slayer is alot more complicated than most people will ever give him credit for in high level play simply because his past incarnations were the epitemy or scrub.
  17. Fixed? The reason for leaving Slayer in the expert is because of all the character specifics and situational combos you have to know and react to. Keep in mind that this is only for mastering imo though. If it was casual, Slayer would be right down in easy.
  18. Walter Joseph Kovacs is Rorschach, read Watchmen.
  19. Slayer - 5K, 6K, 2H, 2D, IAD jH, IAD back, and PILEBUNKER! Venom - 2S, 5S, 6P, IAD back, and backdash Potemkin - Win Edit: Bridget - Lose
  20. I see your point there, Ky and Sol really were alot more dominating that any of the AC top tier not that I really think about it. People complain about Eddie/Testament/Slayer/Pot, but they really are nothing compared to the past versions... testament is still a scrub pos though
  21. AC is hands down more balanced that the rest. X and XX are just retarded so lets not even talk about that. #R Eddie wasn't a character, he was a fucking SNK boss. He was pretty much better than everybody at everything so fuck him. lol Slayer was retarded too. For all effective purposes, he had no hitbox... so that combined with insane dmg and easy stuns was just too much. Slash had a pretty big tier difference, but people for some reason think that the top tier in that one wasn't as bad as AC. Ky was worse than Slayer and Pot are now, but not as bad as Eddie and Testament. SO... I guess the top tier being more balanced is half true, although the tier difference is huge. All in all though, AC is one of the most balanced fighting games being played competitively. Everybody has a chance. Example of other games. MvC2 - Mag/Storm or Sent/S tier assist, or gtfo 3S - Yun, Chun, Ken, Makoto, Dudley... you can say Urien (who is mid tier), but I only know 1 other person in Texas besides me that plays him... there are random Gouki also... HnK - LAWL SSBB - More lulz CvS2 - A Blanka/Dictator/Claw for the easy wins ST - This game is just bullshit So I'm really happy with the balance in this game, especially when you compare to the amazing job capcom and others have done
  22. That's called the "multiverse" (I had a post about it), and it is used so that alternate stories can be told. However, for the point of story telling, one universe is always designated as canon... GG just hasn't done that though, and even the things that are supposed to be canon conflict with eachother. You can say that all the facts are true, but the fact that remains the most true (poor grammar) is that GG has no continuity. Sad but true... still one of the better gaming storylines though.
  23. Essentially, Eddie was fixed in slash and should have never been changed.
