  1. I remember when you semi-regularly signed in to condescend and spew racist generalizations at a whim when people called your antics, ignored his general damage problems and pretended the only thing he needed was a boost dash melee buff. Or to be Zabanya when he was flavor instead of actually looking at other options. But while moving on from the topic of being generally sharp with people for no reason, the top three will probably stay up there for a while until they nerf Destiny's damage, and fix Norn/Wing TV's overall tools. As for the CSa buff, that's not really the biggest thing on it's plate and certainly didn't help Reborns,Nu, or Hi-Nu with their respective problems. The suit's general mobility and performance has been massively improved and it's new cancel routes will only further improve it's handling, I don't disagree with the idea that it could be an A tier suit, but a solid CSa alone does not make a grand suit on it's own.
  2. 1. The delay is based on how much you press the triangle button. As mentioned the elbow strike grinds and can be charged. Beyond that if you landed a neutral melee on most suits you get similar vulnerability. 2.Fuwa step towards the target, it's generally how you follow most launcher attacks. 3.See 2 4.Not...really? The Barrel roll does not cut tracking so if you're exchanging shots in the mid-range it will get you shot more than anything. It works as a mix up but I wouldn't say heavily incorporating it is a very good idea. 5.See 2/You should really not go for Norn ABC from a combo if you can help it. It's main strengths are it's super armor on start up, and it's ability to deal insane damage. The damage proration you would suffer in addition to the duration of the combo would entirely offset this. 6. See 5, also that is not invulnerability you take super armor. You still take full damage on every shot you eat. 7.Agreed. 8. BC does NOT have super armor in any capacity or invulnerability. Perhaps you meant 8b, but trying to BC in hopes of super armor or god mode will just get you killed. 9. Should note that it does not work on any sort of dedicated barrier like fin-funnel barrier, shield bits, or shield sword bits. It does get past those specific barriers and their derivatives however. You're mistaken for the most part, barring a few key points, and cap your observations by comparing apples to oranges. Banshee is a 2.5k and Norn is a 3k, Norn's tools allow it to force damage and attention onto itself while evading and thus maintaining an effective neutral. Banshee is focused on self defense in comparison and while it has more escape and denial options, it cannot bring the same sort of offensive presence due to the limited time it has NTD. Tools such as the 8ab and it's CSb allow it to neutralize approaches, and in a pinch most of it's melee is more than serviceable, with the BC nearly matching Qant 8b for priority. Riddhe's Banshee is a good well rounded suit, that does not excel in any range (It's melee is generally slow, and it's redlock is relatively short and his damage is somewhat lacking for a ranged centric fighter.) but does comfortable work in any range. Edit: Checked it, neutral cannot be charged. I'm bad.
  3. I'll try to help you on Norn and Strike Ootori, RE-GZ's damage ranges are too much for me to wanna play around with though...
  4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0a7-nBy6yuI Video reference for Maxi. Judging from the clones only damage and HP should change in the port 4/6b melee should do three hits for 178 unless the values change in the port, though your neutral melee makes the assumption they didn't so I'll roll with that assumption. Should update and note the neutral melee ground bounces when it finishes.
  5. Nice to see you too? But you're the one joining the room so this is their decision anyway.
  6. He's top B, which puts him pretty interchangably with bottom A tier, so no he's prolly not going to get buffs knowing that unless most of 3k gets buffs along with him which is more likely to happen. You can stop demanding WZTV nerfs while demanding your baby to be buffed and have full screen Zabanya beam like you did last time. WZTV is no longer surviving and dragging out 8 minute rounds and your baby is not even without that because he wouldn't keep up with the heavy weight melees even if he could rush them harder. Suit variety is relatively solid right now despite your claims. This game is not RVZ2, EXVS or FB. It is own beast. Treat it as such and let go of characters that bother you instead of clinging desperately onto a character's old iteration. Arguments in context of RVZ2 went nowhere last time and have very little place here unless the devs decide to humor you and bring back the systems and mechanics that would favor the Strike Freedom within that game slightly more than they do here. Having said that Strike Freedom is mostly "weak" right now because even if he had a boost dash melee he'd be "weak" due to his lower than average damage and the fact that his overall pressure would still tilt ranged, buffing his BD melee would not prevent players from picking S drive and pounding away. His strengths would still be evasion and if he pushed up his partner would have to defend themselves just like if he were playing his old asymmetrical neutral like WZ-EW, he'd just be rushing up in enemy's face rather than running from him when his partner got rushed. Which would still end poorly if he were trying to melee rush anyone good in melee, due to his short range and poor ability to trade damage in melee would just mean the other top tiers would just deploy their various anti-melee tools and deny him anyway even if they did believe him to be a big enough threat to actually connect his boost dash melee. If his gerobi were on a shorter cool down it would likely only mitigate his current issues rather than resolve them because they're endemic to the suit itself and broadly attempting to improve his kit would require a massive rework that would only break him rather than actually make him a more interesting mobile suit to play. With all that said it would probably be accurate to say demanding a suit to become omni-comptent instead of just demanding the damage buffs it would need to stop tickling and actually trade evenly in damage wars is probably not the best way to go about things. Kanos says it's based on their tourney win rates, not any mechanical changes which is why suits are fluid within their tier list without any mechanical changes. EDIT: Nevermind it's just general win rates, not just tournies
  7. They aren't happening, since it already got buffed for more boosts. Destiny was lacking in FB, and it plays to the strengths of the current game, the buffs were necessary and they help it thrive. Nu is back to being solid but Hi-Nu still has his classic problems. SF using melee is silly anyway. D:
  8. Most PVs have their frame rate cut by 2/3rds or a half so don't get too upset
  9. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fezo5XNtruM Altron since nobody posted it
  10. Isn't it unfair to say anyone is entitled to do so given the entry fee and registration? I'm not trying to be provocative and I'm aware there are...problems as mentioned but yeah unless you have someone flown in, and pay them to compete I don't think anyone is entitled, this is just the discussion of preferable or not. That's fine, it's closer to being an issue from the actual pad layout itself than anything else and frankly a wired controller barely costs 15 bucks. If you can make your way to evo you can probably fork out 20 bucks for a decent pad if you insist on playing on pad.
  11. So recently there's been a bit of debate and shit talking about pads versus sticks as of late thanks to issues at EVO. As someone who wasn't terribly interested in the tournament at the time here's what I remember what happened: Pads had technical difficulties and massively long set ups. The tournament time they had was finite and they had to pack it up relatively quickly once things started wrapping up. The result of this was that pads were banned for the shuffle tourney and in the hold tourney matches had technical difficulties, restarts and all sorts of fun stuff. Brett sent a tweet as well as openly discussing on stream that he was not very hot on continuing it. A lot of pad players were frustrated at the revelation, and caused a fair bit of tension where I was discussing it and .... Basically the arguments for and against it were: For ban: Sticks can be set up universally for players while pad players can have multiple button configs (IE:Shoulder buttons for melee and main shots) so a reconfig has to be done every match. Given it was a 10-15 minute reconfig every time this is the most legitimate argument I've heard on the issue. Bluetooth interaction with pads is wonky. I don't know why this isn't the case with sticks but someone can elaborate for me but supposedly one of the matches had a situation that messed things up Against the Ban: The community is still really small and alienating the player base for any reason is suspect. I have no statistics on what the community's pad to stick ratio but it seemed to happen so often that it didn't seem like pad players were the minority A player's preference should come first and foremost. This is my stance on the issue and sort of where I don't really see the pad ban being a legitimate decision but I can't speak beyond this as I mentioned I have no idea how many pad players there were. I wanna hear more people's stances on it but generally speaking this seems more of a playability argument versus a feasibility argument for the sake of the tournament. I don't know if they need to allot more time or what but discussion should probably be had. D:
  12. I kinda pulled my head out because you were making sense up to a point, but can you not sling shit at nearly the entire western hemisphere? Most EXVS players in the west have played in Japanese and and play ranked too so....I think it's massively unfair to just categorize the EU/US as a mentality with the entire nation just because they are not from your country.
  13. I'll give you that. Nobody's really disputing what Kira said beyond some of the more questionable things. Balance is problematic in Maxi boost but telling us things we already know, in accompanying broad statements is what frustrates me. It is very different to me when you say "These 3ks are bad because they have lacking performance qualities in comparison to other suits." and then you elaborate on your post, and Kira did in fact do that in his second post. However just stating the broad statements that are easily dis-proven even from a casual player like "people only attack until they have F-burst/EX burst" make it very frustrating to sort out which points he's making are valid and which are more emotional or centered around the rumor mill.
  14. I normally don't play grammar nazi as it's easy to pick apart my own mistakes, but it's difficult to read a post that has a line break every chance it takes. I'd rather just clear this up with him now than deal with it again if I can. It's the spirit of the thing that's more the problem. They force turnabout situations that otherwise aren't really earned in matches. Someone can play perfectly then get wrecked by an S-drive suit spamming them to death or a single punish from an F-drive, it's just not a very fun thing to lose your ass to.
  15. First off thank you Kira, Sabator and especially you Luke for clearing up a lot of what Kira wrote and putting it in much better terms. I don't think anyone had a positive reaction to the drive system even stateside since UMvC3 carries a lot of stigma for X-factor amongst non-players or casual players who have very plainly seen players of lower skill mash out wins against much better players by mashing buttons. The drive system seems like it's just carrying on that mentality to become accessible and it backfired by simply reverting to the EXVS meta that nobody really liked to begin with sans more melee centric players. However while I thank you for clearing up your initial post Kira it doesn't make your argument stronger to make the assumption we believe the game is balanced either. Nobody has said that and by presupposing that we hold an opinion you are bullying us into winning an argument that didn't exist until you started it. Even in my own admittedly curt statement I was asking for verification on your thoughts since they're not entirely well developed. You're right, what's balanced and what isn't IS readily apparent to the point where some of the things you're saying do not make sense. A B tier 2.5k was always worse than an S or A tier 2k, even in FB or EXVS so you aren't helping your case by using that as evidence. Most of your statements on 2.5ks were true in Full boost and do not help explain why they are so powerful in maxiboost. Stating something is worthless is not the same as developing a point to that effect and complaining that your suit isn't S tier because it's not like it was in a previous game does not help your discussion on game balance. It is not an argument to say "don't get me started" on a topic, it is actually leaving a topic unexplored and not developing your argument. Additionally 2chan, much like 4 chan is still an anonymous forum with troll posts and basically do not give a damn about basic decency or actually making sense. This is not to say your points are invalid as the other posters here have pointed out in some cases but if you aren't willing to make your argument for yourself I'm much more inclined to just wait until someone who is willing to speak to me without condescending to me comes along and brush you aside instead of machine translating 2 chan line by line and re-translating it to sift through the lines upon lines of players calling each other "Industrial waste" So while I'm on the topic of language barriers, Kira since it seems like the finer points of English aren't really your forte lemme give you a quick tip for you moving forward: A line break (Hitting enter) in written English means you're either ending a thought or you're developing a point in a way that readily highlights the fact you are doing so like a guided list to prevent confusion. A sentence that is line broken simply for emphasis looks ugly and does not contribute to your idea, and a line break added too early makes your idea stand on it's own and isolates it from any supporting evidence that you may be contributing to it, thus making the idea itself look incomplete. Adding a line break every line makes it seem you're trying to pad out your post to make yourself seem like you're saying more than you actually are or you can't develop your ideas and thus every line where you under-develop a concept is now just that much more apparent and difficult to want to read the rest of your post even though you clearly have some comprehension of what you're trying to say to people. Most people take this as incredibly rude as akin to saying it's not worth your time to actually complete your thoughts but given you seem to do this habitually I'm just going to assume that this is resultant of a lack of experience with the language than actual malice. So on that note...following those rule you have not actually written a paragraph longer than 65 words yet....and a paragraph that is two thousand words long is malformed as well.
  16. Can we get some verification on the things Kira's posted? This seems....like a lot of broad generalizations that seem to be summed up as Come back mechanics suck and are awful. F drive sucks and it's awful. Zabanya/Wing/Banshee suck and they're awful People in arcades have abandoned Maxi in Japan and nobody plays it.
  17. I don't disagree with that. That's not a problem though. First form is better at playing a neutral and honestly FAUC seems much stronger in the rear than the front position. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRkubFe4J_Y
  18. He also says "Let's go Para!" speaking to the unvoiced G-Falcon pilot
  19. My bad I should have put a time on it. I'll probably host from 5 PM est until....ummm pretty late lol
  20. Gonna run an unofficial casual room Tuesday....(I guess today? D=). It's the same closed rule policy as Beginner night but I just wanna pose the minor restriction if actual beginners join, just stop picking your mains for a bit and pick something you're not super accustom to or isn't super top tier so you don't stomp them. PM my PSN Skilletzorz or if you're in the skype group just ask for an invite and I'll add you. D=
  21. With that said can someone provide a current tier list to corroborate his statement? I don't mind what you said so much as the fact it's not reflected in our last available tier list on the forum, where there were seven top tier 3k suits I'm left without anything to quantify your statement. Additionally can you explain why each of the cost ranges are the way they are? Saying 3ks are more balanced, 2ks are worthless and suddenly how 2.5ks are the best does not explain why they are the way they are and as such cannot be quantified beyond an opinion. This is especially palpable when according to your own statement A rank MS are considered strong, and last avalible tier list reflected that there were plenty of 2ks in A tier. I just want to get some clarification because I'm uncertain of what you're trying to say.
  22. Whoops you're right. My bad. Agreed, Maxi is already a little silly fast, I don't think it's unreasonably so but lower HP would be dumb I'm not someone who watched Vanilla when he made his arcade rounds but Brett's site claims he fluxed with Qant in S rank. And that doesn't necessarily mean he's proportionally less powerful, it could mean the lower tiers are significantly worse and that S tier is a much stronger pick. Given that some suits like Hyperion have invincibility, it's not really hard to see why.
  23. It has to do with the meta-game reverting to a more EXVS state. Notice how most of the pressure centric rush down suits from EXVS are still top tier in Maxi Boost while in Fullboost they weren't able to pull that off? Suits like FC actually fell to near bottom tier while others with a stronger neutral stayed near the top. Now most suits with a neutral game reliance have sort of dropped off in relevance or at the very least are not as good as the suits that don't rely on it as strongly. It just has to do with match pacing changes and Master plays more to the more aggressive tone of Maxi, according to Brett's old tier list for EXVS he was fluxing between S and A tier before anyway so it's likely just preference
  24. Second form seems to have a more free form projectile game. He's got a rolling Bazooka similar to Sinanju and his beam Gatling gun, and an undisplayed 3rd weapon, it's not hard to believe that he can play aggressively with his kit, given that there are several existing top tier units that use machine guns right now. Third form's armor purge has a new type pressure effect so it's likely used for free damage or making UC more dangerous to blindly rush down when at lower HP values. It's funnel shields weren't shown in enough detail to give much perspective but we know he has vulcans as a counter measure as well as having a lot of melee options so it's easy to believe he's there for game ending chases or desperation setups like Quantum burst.
  25. Neutral is health comms and it changes dependant on how much Health you have remaining. White means optimal, yellow means low, orange means critical, red means I'm dead. The rest are here on the online modes. Given what you've said and your understanding of suit compositions from our previous talks I'm gonna honestly assume it's just not at your level of play where everyone has their stuff together yet. Health comms are extremely vital, moreso than your other comms in terms of understanding how to play, because it lets you understand how the match progresses. Here's a quick scenario. You're playing rear with a 2.5k and your 2.5k front sends you a yellow comms message on his first life. You have not died and are in good shape. If he does not know how much health you have, the other 2.5k has no idea how aggressively he should be playing relative to you. Also he obviously is going to take care with his life if he thinks he's back but if you're both working on the assumption you're playing back, you can get caught in this scenario where neither of you project your presence strongly enough to prevent the enemy team from overrunning you. You can also get caught on scenarios like this. It's your first life as a 2.5k and your 3k has just died. Standard rules for that are now for the 3k to play more defensively and let the 2.5k play more upfront for a bit until the 2.5k's death, then they switch back. The problem is for this scenario you've taken a lot more damage than expected in your first life and have to run or you'll be overcosted immediately. If you don't let your 3k know this and they are in a position where they cannot see your health, they'll simply let you die and you'll be hunted again now that you've been overcosted and they have no incentive to chase down your 3k. Generally speaking you need to let your partner know what your health is and in Shuffle you sometimes need to announce roles at the start of a match. (You both are using the same suit, you're both running suits of the same cost and role, you're running a specific suit setup that requires the lower cost partner to front like EX-S or you have a preference for a particular role). It also helps newer or more tunnel visioned players to become aware of situations if they see you send a comms message that says "Pulling back" or "Going in" so they can make decisions according to your actions, and an acknowledgement message is nice. The default commands all facilitate this but if you're playing with western players you can change them to surrogates. I'll say that "Watch out" is actually less helpful than having a command that says "Run!" or a suit specific command like say "Activating Transam" on the Susanoo or "I'm out of ammo!" on a suit with extensive reloads. You want your comms messages to be short an unambigious in what they mean as well as extremely important. Since you only have four commands you want to send the most clear messages you can without wasting too much space.
