[FB] The ZGMF-X56S Impulse Gundam thread: "Shinn.... SHINN!!"
akai_GO replied to WindmanV3's topic in 2000 Cost Suits
Related question: are you of the opinion that Luna Impulse is a 2k worth learning, or is one just better off learning the stronger 2500 cost Shinn version? Also, for anyone that currently owns her, if you'd like to fill in some of the combo damage values for her since I don't currently own her, it would be greatly appreciated http://www.dustloop.com/wiki/index.php?title=Impulse_Gundam_(Luna)_(EXVSFB) -

Yes, other modes of the game count towards your deployment count. FB missions and Arcade for sure. Free Battle...maybe not, I can't remember now, but I already have one star on every suit so it would take a while to see >< I've looked through I think every menu item in the game and have not been able to see a way to view win/loss statistics without favoriting a suit and looking at it there :/ -
What are said indicators? I usually comb through other pages to do formatting and will keep an eye out for them.

[FB] The ZGMF-X56S Impulse Gundam thread: "Shinn.... SHINN!!"
akai_GO replied to WindmanV3's topic in 2000 Cost Suits
So over the past week or so I've put kinda an embarassing amount of time into comparing Luna's Impulse and Strike Gundam (considering how much I loathe Gundam SEED) trying to decide if it's worth the purchase. The 2500 Impulse I'll certainly admit is better than Strike. On paper, Luna's Impulse and Strike are very similar, with Strike having a couple of things better and Luna having a couple of things better. But more importantly, after messing around on 2500 Impulse and watching some videos, I think the two play really differently despite their similarities. Impulse seems to use Blast mode very little compared to how much time Strike tends to spend in Launcher. Maybe this is because Strike's Main is slightly faster reload and Force Impulse (which players tend to spend a lot of time in) is much better than Aile Strike. But also, I see players that spend a decent portion of the match going around in Sword Impulse, whereas I almost never see Sword Strike happen until someone is right on top of an opponent or vice-versa. In brief, Strike seems to play the back support role more - staying mostly in Launcher supplemented with Aile and IWSP when available - while Impulse seems to play more forward in the field in Force and Sword. Now, for a 2500 cost suit I think that's ok. But I wonder if it's not risky for the 2000 cost version. Thoughts? Whose our primary Impulse players? We have one or two I think... -
I mean when you consider the majority of fighter games are 1v1 right?, and that a lot of hardcore fighting game players I think put a lot of stock in their individual play because that is the common style, it's not that hard to see why people not familiar with the series may think 1v1 is a better show of their talent instead of realizing the need to learn to play the 2v2 meta. I wasn't necessarily point fingers or anything with that comment. Just something he mentioned that I thought interesting and wanted to say I didn't have that happen, not knowing if it happens frequently here or elsewhere lol

Yeah when you register a card on bandai/vsmobile, it just gives room for up to 3 different cards you can register. So it seems like you just get a card and it hangs on to the data you accumulate. On another note, Ojama had mentioned to me that when he was playing in HK he would have people challenge him to 1v1 battles, even when in arcade mode. I did not have that experience, and I was playing on a team shuffle box with someone right across from me. Maybe if more people were playing at the time it might of happened? But I feel like as picky as people are when playing FB online about latency and rank and stuff that it's not as likely...
-
Reporting back on this since I finally went: 1.) The card is 300¥, but you still pay credit for each play, so I think the card is just a data holder now? 2.) 100¥ per play. Practice is 5 levels and counts as one play. Arcade is standard and counts as one play. 3.) Conquest mode: I think this is the mode to get the biggest bang for your buck. I didn't try it out though because I'm really not good with the arcade stick having only played the game with a control pad up until now.

Hey guys, So I asked Kirin about this and he said ok but to post here: although I kinda abhor seeing wiki pages get started and abandoned, tonight I want to set up skeletons for all the pages that are currently done in Burgerkong's Google docs threads. Maybe someone will transpose over the already translated data, or maybe one of us will go back and do it later. But more importantly, I want to be able to see red links in the wiki navbar to see clearly "which suits have had ZERO translation done for them?" to better spend my time getting information translated. Besides the skeletons, I'll post the links to that people can access for when they click on a blue link expecting to find some kind of information there. Is this...ok with you other higher ups?

[FB] 2500s Moveset and Combos Compilation [16/28]
akai_GO replied to burgerkong's topic in 2500 Cost Suits
I should probably transpose these to the wiki project since all the work is already done on them XD -
Because vanilla is considered the blandest, most basic stage of ice cream flavors - nothing special nothing added :P Again, it's used in a few different game series that span multiple titles.
-
Yes, because the PS3 now has both the original EXVS and the Full Boost followup, and because the arcades have the second followup Maxi Boost - all 3 under the EXVS brand - the original is just affectionately called vanilla (like Vanilla WoW. "base flavor" if you will).

Blitz...I guess looks interesting? I couldn't help but notice though, they showed almost none of his core moveset, just the same 2-3 melee combos over and over o_O main: never used sub: from the image I was assuming it was the tow cable? but unless it can be used as an ~a/ab melee cancel, or the ammo counter was just bugged, I must be wrong because the ammo for it was never spent [ac] Aegis assist: was used once, but the ammo for it wasn't spent, which is why I said above maybe something was just off for the PV demo...? [bc] colloid mirage: the entire gimmick of the suit was only used once - for 2s, first thing shown - and then never again?? I just don't get it...why not show off everything in the PV? Especially for a suit that doesn't go through like form changes or anything to have more stuff to have to show in a 2 min window. -
Question: is it...possible somehow to like, just embed an Excel table...? I made a couple of melee route tables for Unicorn's NT-D and Quanta's 5B and 4/6B derivation routes in Excel because it gave me a little more freedom than the standard wiki table format, and then uploaded it to Google docs. If it's not possible I'll just hotlink to the Google docs, but I was just wondering.

ooo that's a nice find and good page to translate adn, the weapons and terminology glossaries!! I was asking I guess a couple of weeks ago if it was desired to add those combat attribute terms to the terminology list and use them in the English wiki or not.

I'm sure some people are wondering how Talgeese is sitting at B**** when a couple of earlier posts mention him being S tier. He's sitting at 2.93 (Providence also) with n=7. Welcome to the college grading system kids >< He's actually not posted at S tier in any of the lists in that shitaraba thread. Also, he didn't get any buffs in the update. He had no changes at all. A couple of suits got nerfed, but he certainly wasn't overbuffed. -

When did 埼玉 become the new shorthand for Providence?? And what is the joke here?? -

Considering there's no firm methodology for generating tier lists beyond experience and opinion and no two lists look exactly the same, I figure the only "fair" way to generate one is to average all the ones posted. Also considering this is from shitaraba and so maybe should be taken with a grain of salt, I've compiled all the data from shitaraba's current rank thread. Because this turns out some decimal places, instead of using the typical > style I'm going to lay it out according to r.0-.24 *, r.25-.49 **, r.50-.74 ***, r.75-.99 **** Current sample size n=7 After 14/05/27 Update 3000 S * Zabanya A **** Turn-X *** WZTV, Master, Quanta, 00 ** God, Sinanju, FC * Nu, Hi-Nu, SF, Destiny, FAUC B **** WZEW *** V2, Penelope, Turn-A ** Turn-A, UC * Lf, Epyon, DX, Reborns, Ex-S, FAZZ 2500 A *** Banshee * DSH B **** Talgeese, Providence, GP02, X1, Xf, GX, Impulse, The O, AGE2 *** Zeta, Strike Noir, Legend, Hyperion, Avalanche, Sumo, Susanoo, ** Zeong, Spiegel, Hyaku, Cherudim * RF Kai, Freedom, Vis・CB, Arios, Raphael, GP03 ZZ, Heavyarms, Ef, Queb, Got C ** X3, Af, Arche, Brave, Perfect Strike 2000 A ** G-Mecha * Gun-Zaku, Rozen, Kash, Char-Gel B **** Hamb, Forb, Mess, Strike *** Char-Z2,Delta ** Gyan, , BlueF * F91, AGE1, Gundam, Mk2, Black Queb, Dragon, Dynamas, Throne, Gerbera, X2, GoldF, BD1 C *** Stargazer ** GP01, Exia, Gaia, RedF * Kapool 1500 A ** Z2, Tank * Dog, Ez8 B **** Ez8 *** Berga, Zudah, Alex ** Victory, Duel * Queb2 C *** GunEZ, Gouf, Efreet ** Z3, Acguy I'm going to keep an eye on that thread for a couple of days and keep adding data. If you know of a page that has data you think should be included let me know. -
If you haven't watched any of it then, given the theme of this thread, I want to highly highly encourage you to listen to the OST discs either before or alongside your watching of the series. a) the OST on it's own is a masterpiece. period. I put 1, maybe 2 anime OSTs above it tops. Hiroyuki Sawano might be the most popular and best composer in Japanese media right now. b) there's a number of musical motifs that get used throughout the series, and the OST actually has lyrical versions for these motifs that give you an even deeper insight into what is going on in scenes in the movies.

I made a random discovery last night: if your EX attack gets interrupted between the shield throw and the BM shot, the shield will remain in the ground, and if you manually shoot it it will still explode and damage anyone nearby o_o

Change made, but question of nuance: I thought startup and outbreak were technically different. Like...Zeta's Hyper Mega Launcher - there's this period of time where he raises the weapon (startup) before the beam ever actually leaves the weapon (outbreak)...? -

Thanks, didn't see the 2500 cost way over to the left >< And by outbreak, yeah how fast the beam exits from the rifle and such. -

I too have been trying to work on this...I can do it on the ground like was recommended starting, but for some reason when I try to take it to the air I wind up calling out the assist every single time :/ Very tricky move, but incredible movement to see happen. -

I'm not sure if you're talking about ranked team or ranked shuffle, but I'd be happy to suffer through some matches with you, but...I live in Japan, so time difference >< I play almost exclusively ranked shuffle (due to not having a regular teammate), but I didn't start playing the game online period until 2.5-3 months ago, and I have like a 47% overall win rate (granted a lot of that has been playing rear). I've said this in a couple places now: actually I found in the beginning ranked was much easier to slide into than player matches. In player match rooms in the beginning it seemed like I constantly wound up in rooms with people way above my skill level and would just get stomped, but ranked you're (almost) only ever going to fight someone that is the same badge rank as you. Unless...that's something that is true only in Japan and I have no idea otherwise o_O I'm not sure I've ever had something admittedly as rough and frustrating as 15/80, but I think if I'd kept trying player match in the beginning instead of ranked it could have happened to me lol. That's my 2c on it, as someone who has played the game and series for a while now, but didn't start trying to play it against people until a few months ago. It was trying at first, but my game has leaps and bound improved from it. I'm not sure there's anything really to do other than to just keep playing to keep improving, and yeah, watching your own replays can help you more easily see if there are some common tendencies you have that seem to continuously get punished. Oh, that and I think it's easier to ease into the online game playing as a rear than a front. If you want a team partner on the weekends (since I'm sure the time difference will prevent otherwise) feel free to hit me up :P
