  1. I tend to combo anything that the opponent is low enough, into 623A~A, almost always leads to best damage for least stars, just have to learn your links and its well worth it. j.214B > 5C > 623A~A > j.C l> 2C > j.2C > ... for midscreen, and if i have the stars to spare, after that Its usually airdash j.C > j.214C for knockdown and a lil more damage if an airdash will take them to the corner after that you have airdash j.2C > falling j.C l> 5C for (cheap) knockdown or 2C > more combo
  2. tested on ragna ragna in corner: j.C l> 5C > 236A ~ A > falling j.2C > j.C l> 2C > sj.B > dsj.C > dsj.214C > falling j.C l> 2C > sj airthrow (ya its a throw, sue me) > falling j.C l> 214B*** > 5C ***the last 214B has to be done immediately after hitting the ground and the falling j.C before it has to hit as late as possible, link feels ridiculously tight this was all in effort to win a bet that hakumen could break 15 hits without any form of super
  3. are you sure you're doing it on characters that the combo works on? and if you are you can try doing it in the corner to work on your timing as its easier
  4. anyone in the houston area on BB PSN? and to those who may be concerned, i probably won't be able to host games in the next week as I'll be having visitors the whole time and I just don't see it happening. but to lil sassy or whoever else is interested, I think raph is hosting games at his place tonight, you could post up in his thread on mashharder (in the fighting game forums) and see if you could make it, its almost invite only but i dont think he's declining anyone that wants to go play games with the houston folk
  5. i knew i wasnt the only one that liked to be up on tager's grill. I don't really trust long ranger tager if I'm magnetized at all. I generally just try to stick to j.A range. Just like the vid you can kinda play with him all day that way and its a fairly backdash=proof aproach. Anything further back and you're watching for his heat knuckle, past that you lose to sparks, and potentially his hammerfall. I know its not that simple for tager to get in, but its just the comfort zone that I've found, and I don't know his move names so I referenced potemkin, thank got tager doesn't have potemkin's 6P
  6. the # one thing I want for rachel, really, I want ragna or jin's 5A. But meh, my advice block low, watch for throws, you know the usual, but I just watch for her flip-over overhead attack and 2C it. The other overhead is a lot slower, but safter, FD it and you're out of pressure. But once you take away the flip overhead, a lot of tao's i've seen will just go all low's, throws, if you're smart about it, you can start doing j.2C3D out of their pressure strings seeing as how it hops lows, and beats throws. Beyond that though, I've had chair beaten by more of tao's moves than any other character, I don't advise just throwing it out randomly in pressure. That's just gonna get you punished more often than not. if she's in the air 6A, I don't really mind doing this randomly sometimes as its usually safe if they're in the air or i'll get a lucky counter hit. If she's on the ground, i block, if she's far away I'll use A ver. lobelia as it beats her dash, and low to the ground air dashes. I'll play really conservatively for this match-up until I know they're afraid of the counterhit. Once you get a pumpkin out, feel free to be really lenient with the wind, I'll blow 3-4 wind all at once just to tap this character seeing as it usually leads to frog combo. But generally tao seems to control the skies. On the reverse, seeing as how she's so damn good at movement, I've also spent 3-4 bars of wind just to get away. Tech - air dash 6D, 2D to the ground, then 4/7D to push away the tao that's chasing after my ass, then I can finally get a lobelia or a pumpkin out gotta run, might add more later
  7. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOJCnhWG-t0 setup from 0:10 to 0:25 !!!
  8. that is sex, the swords as icing on the cake are just too much win for words give me one srsly, would u sell that or a copy of it?
  9. theres no guilty gear =/
  10. get it on ps3!!!
  11. LIES!!! WOOO! who's up for games! I have a vehicle!!
  12. Turns out I'm gonna have to back out of this. Job is cuttin hours, I really dont think I can afford to travel, even within the state at this point. Sorry man, and tell your boy its a shame I couldn't team with him.

  13. if its cool with him that I'd be playing a secondary (probably testament) then I'm down for teaming, I guess we'd find a third there..

  14. i c, i c iono what you ended up deciding, but just checkin in since you sounded hopeful in the houston thread a while back, but are you headed to pz tonight by any chance?

  15. I'm here for the role call...i never did know...is it roll call or role call?

  16. ac+ comes with story mode and two characters who aren't tourney legal, as long as you get the american AC, it really doesn't matter unless you want the bonuses in AC+. If you're just looking to take the game seriously on a competitive (tournament) level, they're both fine ports that play the same. AC+ just fixed some glitches that were in teh original JAPANESE console release of ac. i'd say get plain ol american AC cuz you can probably find it for 10~15 bucks
  17. gonna TRY to make it down there around 6 or 7, but I'll be looking for a lift as my car is kaput, so no promises EDIT: i should def be there, if ur lookin for me, i should either be on blaz, arcana, or fate/unlimited codes. I will be the guy wearing a longhorns cap that needs to shave
  18. also, from pad playing experience, and a lil millia, i can say that you have forever and a day to hit someone after you connect with 2H, my suggestion would be to just try to take your thumb entirely off the d-pad, then jump, instead of sliding it from down to up. you'll get faster at the motion and it will become more direct 2~9 over time.
  19. the latter
  20. monday they're open 5pm to midnight, they tend to open late and stay open late though
  21. cool, if i have a working vehicle i should be able to make it down, but iono how many other people will show on a monday, i know at least 2 guys though that are looking to get gear games in at my place next week, probably sometime late in the day, later in the week, and i know my roommate would play pz has bb and kof 12 though, so thats always cool
  22. like, within 5 miles east of hwy 6, up on westhiemer. planet zero, the arcade with blazblue is on westhiemer and kirkwood
  23. hah, could post up if you're ever in west houston or headin to pz and i can try to let gear people know you're comin, but sadly pz took out the gear cabinet and replaced it with some other crap. there's still blaz though and plenty of people play that. Every now and again i'll hold a session at my place
  24. only MOSTLY dead
  25. about the vid...i'm really lazy and lacking an editor atm...I had a dude but I lost touch with him... will work on it when I can...if anyone knows an editor that works for free let me know :D ps, not new im sure but WT > iad j.S > CLSW is my new fav thing to do. I use to think it only worked on light weights but nah, can get it on...i think everyone, I'm pretty sure i've landed it on johnny before, best part though, its burst safe! tryin to make my BnB: (dependant mostly just on distance to the wall) WT> iad j.S > CLSW > CLSW > CLSW > j.S > CLSW > BR ^ the entire combo up to the second j.S is (nearly) completely burst safe (depending on distance to corner again) (tested to work on zappa/slayer) couldn't land 2 empty sidewinders on Ky (go figure) but can get 3-4 on may/jam/baiken. and if the first iad j.S > SW takes you into the corner, you can airdash out for another j.S > SW on most characters leading into more empty sidewinders. Just another way to maximize damge. ======================================== I'm looking for more blockstrings. I'm getting to the point to where I'm just throwing out random BR frc's to more safely close in (cuz air dashes just gonna get you slapped out of the air while you can't FD) When someone gets really block heavy and just watches for WT I tend to wind up just doing a lot of 2P's trying to loosen their guard while throwing away bar. when you get someone to actually start sitting and blocking do you go for instant damage, or do you try to scare em with guard bar building? I get mixed results as sol can't stay on someone for free, takes way too much bar that often ends in nothing but 2D and his oki is severly lacking. One thing on the subject of guard bar building and blockstrings. I've manage to catch a some people with (opp blocking) xxx > 6P > 6H > GF FRC > BR. the BR will catch some people jumping out of the corner, and if it hits just right it will just catch the end of gunflame and you can turn it into combo. If not, if you caught them blocking in the air you should be able to freely continue pressure....just a tidbit I thought I'd throw in there.
