The New England Thread: Bears Warbling Outside My Igloo: A Polarizing Dilemma
Mindgam3 replied to Zoob's topic in East Coast
Sly Cooper Collection - Katz Disgaea 4 - Tales Katz's A/V cables - ??? My power cable - ??? PS3 pad and sync cable - ??? I'm more concerned about the owner of the PS3 pad, considering I have replaced my power cable and I'm sure Katz already has as well. I'm also going to GamingETC (555 Lordship Boulevard, Stratford, CT) tonight with a PS3 setup in tow that will include GG, BB, P4A, and the like. Anyone who is interested may come and we'll most certainly get some sets in. -

GG's to all those who showed up, t'was a good time! As of this moment, I am currently missing my PS3 power cable. More importantly, someone left a copy of Disgaea 4, a copy of The Sly Cooper Collection, and a black PS3 controller with a white sync cable. If anyone knows where my power cable went or whose items these are, please say so. -

People typically/should arrive around 5:00pm. From that point onward, we usually stop around 1:00am if we want to go to a diner. Otherwise, we just continue until people decide to either pass out or leave. We really need a stream for this. -

I will host casuals at my house if 15 minutes of extra driving isn't too much for everyone, and by everyone I mean Cheese. -

The subtlety is unreal. Anyway, I'll be at GamingETC tomorrow (1/15). The address is 555 Lordship Boulevard, Stratford, CT. Those who are free...may feel free to come between the hours of 6:00pm-10:00pm. They run exclusively on 360's, but I'll bring a PS3 setup just out of habit. Please bring a copy of the game you wish to play if you want to play on a 360. Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis Guy, would you like a ride? -

For anime within CT, you will typically find gatherings in Windsor, Wolcott, perhaps Hartford, and on the occasion Southbury. If you don't mind playing in people's basements, definitely keep an eye out on this thread. By far the most active tournament scene in the state is at GamingETC in Stratford, which is an actual venue that hosts "Fight Nights" every Tuesday evening from 6:00pm-10:00pm with tournaments held on arbitrary Saturdays. While the main focus is typically Street Fighter/Marvel/KoF, certainly with more support could we build an anime community. Most of the players there are pretty neutral to P4U due to it being at Evo, so a few heads are looking to get back into it. -

I, as well as most people, are waiting for the game lineup to be announced. I personally don't want to travel across the country for Playstation All-Stars. -

Casuals for this Saturday (1/5) have been moved to the MindPalac3. Most of you should already have the address. For those who do not, please send me a text or PM. -

I'd go, and since I'm going, I'd probably end up bringing 4 other people with me. Where in Rhode Island? Perhaps this is the first venue that will be decently close for Monster Hunter Will to attend. -

GG's to everyone who attended the maiden gathering of the Mindpalac3, as well as Guilty Madness. I wish we could get such a great turnout of GG players at majors as opposed to one-day events located in an inner-city hole in the wall. I'll certainly consider hosting more casual sessions when I clear out all those boxes from the middle of the basement floor, or perhaps... -
It is not as hard as you are led to believe. If it is anime that you seek, most of the people that post in the New England thread (http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?14030-Bears-Warbling-Outside-My-Igloo-A-Polarizing-Dilemma-The-New-England-Thread/page135), which is mostly CT despite the name, will play GG, Blazblue, KoF, or really anything that's not SFIV or UMVC3. There are casuals hosted by Why-Disciple in Wolcott every two weeks that are always announced in advance, which typically cater to this crowd. However, there are oftentimes casuals in Windsor or elsewhere which the players of anime gather. If it is SFIV or Marvel that you seek, there are casuals in Windsor, but also GamingETC in Stratford on Wednesdays and Sundays, Vortex Gaming in Waterbury on Tuesdays, and occasionally The Grid in Manchester on random dates. Also, if you take a look at the SRK thread for CT (http://shoryuken.com/forum/index.php?threads/ct-thread-kof-ae-umvc3-nov-17th-gaming-etc.138798/page-196) you will find your dedicated AE/UMVC3/KoF heads, but also a smattering of people wishing to learn anime fighters as well. Also, hello Shibuya. Are you going to Final Round this year?

This is mostly for convenience's sake, since I know only a select few like to do 3+ hour commutes the day of a tournament. If you can't take off work, you can just arrive at my house later, or the next day if that's convenient for Vyers your ride. -

I deleted all of Tales's messages, so I should now have room. Those who are going to Guilty Madness may stay over at my house the night prior, which is for all intents and purposes the closest location relative to NY out of all the people commuting. Not only would we be able to play games the night prior, but it would also be the most realistic way to do the round robin business so that Vyers everyone is happy. PM for an address if you don't already have it. -

Eh, that doesn't exist. I was watching Tinshi's May and Alzarath's Testament play on the TSB stream, but that didn't exist either. They were just using things that don't exist anymore. In other news, I bought the KINDEVU PRO MODEL QANBA. Two systems, one arcade stick, Oh Yea Babe. -

Also, if for some reason you know Slayer things, see if you can do in the corner: CH j.HS, 2D RC, something that puts them in the air that's not BBU-> 5HS -(special cancel from 5HS into)-> Undertow -(jump-cancelable...?)-> superjump j.HS -(link)-> j.D -> whatever I'm only curious as to if the j.HS -> j.D will connect after Undertow. In the only instance I saw of this combo, the j.HS connected, but the player blatantly dropped the combo with a gold burst. It is a link, but just get a feel for if it's even possible or if they are able to air-tech so early that connecting with the j.D wouldn't be possible. Good luck, and when in doubt, remember that FB Dandy -> FB Pilebunker is the new hotness. -

0f throws that have: -Poor range -Cannot RC -Prorate heavily if you can even combo from it in the first place -If you whiff, you generally get your slowest normal Honorable mention goes to AC Testament This is great news, minus the implied "maybe." If you have the time/disposable income, could you perhaps pick Slayer and try to use bite? I rarely see players actually do it, and much fewer players actually land it. So, I'm wondering if they reduced the range, made the start-up longer, or if the players just know how to deal with it. Also, is his 5K special-cancelable, or do you still have to TK/SJC into special moves? -

Would we just attempt to hold this during a casual session at Mike's house? Or would we end up finding another location for everyone to meet?
