  1. *Walks in, reads today thread posts, turns around and walks out to looks for remix heart* I suppose I should get around to reading that now, especially since I seem to be the only one who doesn't know who Mai is. EDIT: Aaaaaand fan service. Not even 5 pages in. Fucking hell...
  2. Thats actually kinda interesting.
  3. I will be rather disappointed if people just hop over to whatever is the most OP like they do in LOL. Thats a lot of time not getting better at any particular character for the sake of beating people who are less skilled with little effort.
  4. Hello again, Halo 5 beta!
  5. Yes. Hakumen is only at 20% of his max, but that means him being at full means he's only 5 times stronger. Sol is easily beyond that.
  6. Where does Nu come up? (besides her lifelink with Ragna of course, but that doesn't actually save him from death and thus his loss. it just means he doesn't stay dead for long, and thats assuming he actually still has it) I mean, I thought Death Battles were 1v1 with no support. That was the reason Vegeta was not able to use Bulma to get to SS4, wasn't it?
  7. lol Theres already something about this in Ragna's trivia section on the BB wiki at the way bottom.
  8. The instant I saw Ragna go BB, I figured it was going to be a literally earth shattering "Whoever wins, we lose" kind of deal. Was kinda disappointing.
  9. yea, they could have worked their creative muscle a bit. i get they didn't have a whole lot of reference material to work with but it doesn't excuse the lack luster animation.
  10. Whoa whoa whoa, I'm not salty about Ragna's loss. I saw this coming a mile away. If anything, I'm a tad annoyed about hearing alot of bashing on BB's story, which I think is awesome. When I advertise this game to people, I usually sell it as the fighting game with a great and incredibly in depth story, and I mean it. That said, this topic only really came up because DB kinda dumbed down BB like Blackyakuzu94 already mentioned. Besides that, I suppose I'd be a little annoyed because the only time we'd might see Ragna fight in a DB had to be so one sided. I dunno. I'm just more into even match ups. This was like matching the minimum weight boxing champ against the heavy weight boxing champ. Sure, we might see Hakumen or Terumi next if another BB DB shows up, but my Ragna DB was already spent D:
  11. I actually forgot about that.
  12. But side material is still part of the story. To say the entire story is bad is to exclude all of it.
  13. Actually he does. End of CP aside, where he gets really stupidly strong, his bad end in CS was him before his transformation finished. When he was like that with Rachel and Jubei, Jubei commented that they will have to fight another war, although it wouldn't be as long as the first now that they had Ars magus.
  14. We were never surprised. We all knew this was going to happen. One thing that annoys me is people, including DB, calling BB's script confusing or just plain bad. I disagree wholeheartedly with that statement. BB has one of the better story lines in games that I've seen so far, actually. The complexity is actually a good thing in my eyes. From day one, it had a whole history laid out for us which has only expanded from then on. It was really well thought out, despite some of the concepts being hard to explain out loud to another person with no prior Blazblue experience or knowledge.
  15. I dont think you can. It just might be the same "amount" for every person
  16. Is it up now? I know xbox is fine, for now, since I've been playing the Halo 5 beta lately because I couldn't connect to PSN. As soon as I know its back up, I'm going back to playing Blazblue. FPS games are rage inducing...
  17. You mean the Arcade ending? I dont think Ragna was overpowered there. Sure, he was surprised that Azreal had been holding back, but if memory serves correctly, I'm pretty sure Ragna was fine. Also, in the actual story, it never did escalate up to that point. Ragna was going to activate the blazblue, but then choose not to out of fear of losing control, pissing off Azreal. Ragna was going to continue fighting Azreal from there, but was tagged out by Kagura. I can't remember what Ragna did after that, he might have just helpped a bloody Bullet off the arena.
  18. Agreed. He's set up to be like a final boss now. Not sure how they are gonna get him to be a main character, if he is going to be one. All I know is it could 50-50 whenever or not he dies by the end of the series.
  19. Thus the boring superman crap I said before. Sure, I get its not about his strength in terms of story, but the same idea applies to Superman. His story is less about his strength and more about how he interacts with the world. Doesn't really change the fact that he is literally invulnerable from even the superpowers of his own universe, the only true threat is himself. Being the creator of the weapons of his closest rivals (which are actually not really that close) doesn't help any. If I had to pin a character to Ragna (I swear I said this before somewhere...) I would say he's like Goku, being forced to overcome impossible odds and improving with each hardship, despite having a similar weakness as Sol. I'm pretty sure Sol just evolves and gets stronger over time 'cause the devs want a way out in the case that someone makes a "death battle" pitting him against someone stronger. "Oh? Someone stronger than Sol? We can't have that. Ok, Sol just Evolved, now he's stronger. Git Gud." Its the whole "He's as strong as he needs to be" argument for Superman all over again. That said, this is easily another Goku vs Superman death battle. I will eat my words the instant I see Sol truly on the ropes with no way out, or even better ACTUALLY lose, not some technicality or him calling it quits because he's feels lazy. Until that happens, Ragna will be to me much more interesting to follow as a character. This is turning into a rant... I'm sorry.
  20. I'm actually getting turned off from the idea of the GG story as a whole if Sol is going to be as superman as he is... Its just plain boring to watch someone who barely breaks a sweat. Yea, it sounds like QQ in terms of this DB, but in reality there is a reason I don't follow fictional series involving main characters that are gods in their own universe. Shit, most of this thread has been saying they were going to be rooting for Ragna, and its clear why. Sol just ACTUALLY doesn't lose. Even against That Man, he held back, and still didn't technically "Lose" for say. In fact, the fight didn't really go anywhere.
  21. Its worth noting that this incomplete Black Beast is still strong enough to cause world wide destruction even in a world now filled with Ars Armagus, which was initially made to combat the complete form. Granted, according to Jubei, it wouldn't last nearly as long, but it was still a huge threat.
  22. If Ragna wins, I will be happier than a pig in shit. If Sol wins, as long as the facts are straight, the battle is good and overall the death battle is well done, I will be satisfied. Its pretty safe to assume everyone here is rooting for Ragna, if only because he's the lovable underdog here. Although, as a side conversation, since we're talking about Ragna possibly winning because he would be doing damage to Sol's soul directly, what would that mean for Hazama if he were to fight Sol? He also has a Azure Grimoire like Ragna, and his Ouroboros has been stated in "Help me, Miss Litchi" to attack the soul directly as well.
  23. An act of desperation maybe? I dunno about you, but I would be the type to go for it for the lols.
  24. perhaps the funniest video they made so far, actually.
  25. Well, I dunno about GG yet, as I dont have it, but a general thing you could try is a character specific DP. I would recommend looking up the frame data for Faust. Look for moves that either give you a brief moment of invincibility or armor. These are nice to help get someone off you. In terms of Blazblue, for example, the first thing that comes to mind is Ragna's Inferno Divider, and in Street Fighter, Ryu's Shoryuken. DO NOT rely on these moves, however, since they generally have a long recovery time and if you whiff or they block it, you are usually gonna get punished. Just use these to make your opponent remember to respect you at all times. The safest bet is to practice your blocking. Watch how your opponent plays, get in his head. Once you understand what kind of combos and moves your opponent likes to do in certain situations, you can begin to predict them and thus block them. This also means you should learn the BnBs of your opponent's characters, not just your own. This will take trial and error, however, and a whole lot of paying attention to how people play. You will fail before you succeed, no doubt, but with some grit, you'll pull it off. Good luck!
