I know there isn't much you can do about Sol's frame trap from GF in the corner, and any attempt out is a risk, but I have to ask what are the most sensible risks? I have a guy I can almost beat, but once I'm in the corner it's nearly a free victory for him. T_T

Sounds great! Good to see more new faces. Unfortunately for me, I won't be able to hop on tonight after all. Going to try to get my buddy PyrexHD to host. It's my moms birthday today, and thought I might be able celebrate with her, then start the lobby on time, but now that's looking to be not the case. What's with this Tuesday? Things I want to do: Play more MGSV, play in the XRrd Lobby, Enjoy the last night of the SFV beta, be a good son and hang with mom on her b-day. All this at the same time lol @_@

If you're playing ranked, it's not the fastest way to play, but you can press L1 I think to go to the main menu, and training mode while waiting for matches. As far as player matches go, playing around the weekend in the evening should present many p,aces to get matched. If they're full, making your own lobby will usually solve any problems with there being too few matches. ic you were east coast, I'd say john my weekly online lobby, but west coast connections would definitely be too laggy. So if yohwNt to start your own west coast regular lobby, I'd highly recommend it. I'm learning by leaps and bounds because of it.

I've been hosting a training lobby in Guilty Gear Xrd for people that are at a beginner to intermediate level of skill. We just play matches in a learning environment, giving each other advice, trying out new things, and making plenty of friendly side chatter (mostly about games and anime, of course lol). Sometimes the lobby is full, sometimes it's a little bare, but I'm there for some games for sure (except if something irl gets in the way, like my recent surgery @_@). There's a posting about this in the Xrd Online forum, but as this is meant for those who would be perusing this area, it seems prudent to try here instead. Furthermore, we're predominantly east coast, so for lagless play it's best if you are too. We have had players in the CST areas with mixed results, so if that's you and you want to give us a try, go ahead. Actually, I'm still not getting anyones voice but my own in the stream. >.< Don't know why this has to be a difficult thing. I'll hold off on streaming until I find something that actually works. edit:: Looks like my only option is to grab a $50 usb microphone. Just pick up the audio from the TV speakers, and that's supposed to work. Feel like that's going to be janky though. Alternatively, everyone needs to allow their voice to be picked up on streams, but getting everyone compliant in doing that every time sounds like it'd be way worse.

Thanks Pyrex. And yes, I do intend to stream. Streaming is just 100% new to me, so I'm figuring out the basics and just doing it from my PS4 lol. Learned the hard way that I need to create a "Party" and everyone needs to OK their voice being recorded for streams/videos. I guess that means everyone has to be on PS4 if they want to hear us… I don't like that though. I want as many people in as simply as possible. :/

Changing the hour to 10pm going forward. Seems that's when things really get started anyway, and it gives me more time to breath after coming home from work.

Yeah, about to set it up now. Making a Party Chat too so everyone's voices can come through in stream. A lot of my training time was taken up fighting the Any Button too, so...

Kensou wrote a great article breaking down the usability of each Xrd character. Recommended reading. http://skygrindah.blogspot.com/2015/07/guilty-gear-xrd-usability-chart.html Read the characters you're interested in, but also read the rest of the cast to learn about their strengths. All the better to avoid them.

Record mode is your friend here. In training, record Sol doing the jump ins that give you a hard time, then on the replay, try AA'ing them from different distances, and timings until you get used to it.

Loved the lobby last night guys. Loads of fun, learned a good bit on what to work on next. As we know more about each other and what we want out of our characters or the game, we'll be able to advance everyone. Still, learning and teaching may not always be the easiest thing to do while multiple conversations are happening at once. So I would recommend we post advice for each other, either in this topic, or if it makes sense, in a new, Xrdcise Room branded topic. Short and quick personal messages can be handled over PSN messages, Twitter, or DL PM's Whatever's convenient for the ones involved. **I said earlier that I was streaming/recording tonight too. I was intending to edit the archive footage to the best matches I could catch and best conversations, but after it was all over I see on Twitter that my channel said I was offline the whole time. Think it was because I never updated my Twitch password on the PS4 from back when Twitch had that huge data breach. Once I realized that, I tested it out, and the streaming worked fine. Hopefully archiving does too, as I read some people were having trouble with that. Still, 3 hours lost. #ICantEven It'll be all set for next week though.** For those who had a hard time with the connections speed, I don't know that you'd want to stay with us here, but I'd encourage you to make the same kind of lobby, and target players geographically closer. It was worth the attempt, but if the lag was regularly above 4, then we're not doing each other any favors. Still, I'd love to help out in anyway I can to make that happen. Can always hit me up on Twitter. I check it more frequently than anything else lol. Next week, expect to see me doing more knockdown combos (get that VT loop down) and a better fireball game with YRC stun edge. I'm coming for you, Mecha. ** Ok, though the stream didn't seem to be broadcasting at first, the archive was indeed saved! Seems to save it to my desktop though, I'l be exporting it to YouTube, then downloading from there. A bit cumbersome, but not a huge deal. I'll figure out how best to parse content and edit it down, make the that version the public YouTube video, and link to here. Should be fun ^_^

Great matches tonight. I learned a lot, and saw I had some reactions that need to change. Funny how there'll be certain situations that you don't adapt to, but keep getting blown up the same way lol. I'll be looking up better ways to handle Sol corner pressure and fafnir, in preparation for next week, for sure! lol Think I'm going to always make the room in the same place, and call it Xrdcise. Why Xrdcise? Because I laugh too hard at my own corny puns sometimes. At Pyrex's suggestion, anyone who has added me on PSN, I'll send a PSN message to just before I create the lobby as a reminder.
