Examu has been tweeting out questions on their and the director's twitter, and the latest one even has English. If you ever wanted your voice heard here's you're chance. Considering the low number of english speakers who will realistically reply to these you might have an actual influence on what they think of foreign players. If the game sucks it might be your fault! How exciting! https://twitter.com/takaya_coucho/status/816517013958889472

The port plays great for me. Netcode is good. Someone with more experience with the game will be able to tell if there are issues with character behavior or stats. Some notes below: Play the game in 720 resolution- going up to 1080 causes a lot of aliasing on everything on the screen.Windowed mode only support 3 specific resolutions, maxing at 720. (As Miruku X noted earlier)Full screen resolutions have [ARCADE] and [FULLSCREEN] versions. ARCADE gives you the arcade style sidebar portraits with the blinking animations.Setting a 4:3 resolution does not remove side bars. It just shrinks the game screen. When you play online, 2P has to use the keyboard at the character select screen. When the match starts you can go back to using your controller. Very weird glitch.I spent a lot of time playing a friend who the game rated as a '2' latency and the connection was actually really great. The first couple of matches started good but would deteriorate, however all matches after that were pretty good. I'd like to imagine 3s and 4s are even better.

Game's up.

The original AH3 console port had the option to remove the side bars and play completely widescreen but the game was designed at 4:3. The addtiional space on each side of the screen changes the game's spacing as well as the behavior of some moves (like Petra's bullets that bounce around the screen). 4:3 is tournament standard (not that you have a choice anymore). About the combos, yeah, normals will usually chain together from lightest to strongest but, of course, depending on the combo you could have links in there too.

I don't think AH3LM supports playing without sidebars. That was only in vanilla. Which option? In Display there is "Set Link Animation to Default" which you can set to off but it doesn't do anything for offline versus since that mode doesn't have a "Screen" option at the stage select like, say, training mode. Offline versus always has the animations on the side. It always struck me as a weird behavior for the game. Have I been missing something all these years? Edit: Actually, the game really needs a way to quickly restart a match. It would be nice if that was added to the PC version.

That's good to hear. I assume it's exactly the same as the console version aside from the addition of resolution options in the option menu? I was hoping they'd add the ability to turn off link animations during versus mode, replacing them with the static pictures. For some reason you couldn't seem to do that in LM despite being able to turn them off in vanilla.

A lot of the AH3LM pages are sparse but the vanilla AH3 pages are detailed and probably most of what's written there can be used as reference for playing AH3LM without major modification. The way you want to end Heart's air combos are different when moving to AH3LM, and this is easy to notice when going into training mode, but the general strategy of the character and how her moves are used have not changed drastically. I imagine this is the same for most characters.

Actually, could someone maybe see about transplanting these posts into the AH3 wiki somewhere? I think this is good stuff to have on there.

Thanks for bringing these over. These posts were a lot of help to me in explaining AH's fundamentals.

It sounds like the artbook is part of the package no matter when you buy it so you could potentially wait for a sale and still get it. Concept art is cool though and I hope ASW is able to snag that stuff for more of their releases. This shouldn't be an issue.

Arcana Heart 3 Love Max will release on Steam September 29 with a price of $30, featuring a 10% discount for the first week: http://store.steampowered.com/app/370460 It's expected all the regional restrictions on netplay will be gone, which is fantastic, and this will help make the game accessible to a wider audience. However the price is probably pretty steep for a lot of people who have already invested a lot into the console versions or perhaps have already played it and moved on. I plan on picking this up on release myself. Are you planning on buying it, waiting for a sale, or not at all?

Hey, the first google result takes you back to Dustloop! http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/calendar/event/792-fraudsgarden/

Yeah, just to keep things updated for lurkers, the chat is still active. Possibly part of why there's less posting in the forum directly. Come join and play some matches!

I can't make it to CEOtaku myself for expense reasons. I could've sworn I saw AH listed as a main game a while back so that explains why I haven't seen it recently. On a related note I just heard about Fraudsgarden which will be holding an AH3LM tournament. That's October 3 in Richmond, VA. I'm in the area so I'll be going to that, at least for the other games, but are there any other AH people thinking of attending?

I've been out of commission for the past couple of weeks but I should be able to compete this Sunday.
-
Yeah, thanks for the game. I need to learn how to punish Catherine spins, get more calm with my inputs so I stop doing the wrong moves, and just learn AH movement and mixups in general.
-
Are we doing another one this Sunday?

Just letting everyone know ahead of time, before you look at todays's score, that everyone but PooglyWoogly was using gameshark.

Yeah, I'm in. See you guys tomorrow!

Could she always combo out of the dive kick like that or is that only possible in SS?

Yeah, Xanadu Games meets up on Fridays + whenever over in Arbutus, MD but that's an hour. On Wednesdays evenings I go to the CFAS weeklies at the "Comics and Gaming" in Gainesville, VA and that's around 30 minutes west of here. On Monday evenings there are Team Coin Up weeklies- I can't remember the exact addressbut it's also about an hour away in MD. At the top of the thread NagorbMan linked you can find the facebook pages for the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) FGC group which will have all the info on local meetups. Outside of CFAS most of the stuff seems to happen in MD though.

At the least I don't think it would be a bad idea to have a visible link to the old vanilla AH3 revision at the top of each character's page for reference if that's possible. People unfamiliar with how wikis work may not know you can find old revisions, just like ivanchu77, or some people may not even realize there are old revisions filled with content in the first place.

Yeah, I've only been doing 5C>HC combos so far since they were easy enough to figure out. They do good damage but yeah, I clearly wasn't getting any kind of situational advantage afterwards. Nothing particularly stands out in her move list as being particularly good for oki though. But for whatever reason I mostly end up playing against Scharlacrot whose chains I feel changes up oki strategy a lot.

Okay, I figured that much but aren't most, if not all, special moves cancelable into supers, arcana or otherwise? It's weird to have it specifically pointed out. I've been trying to figure out some decent okizeme setups or even positioning but haven't had much luck outside of the typical arcana supers after j.2E or j.214X, like plant seeds or delayed lightning. j.214X has too much recovery by itself and 22A feels more like a movement option for quickfalling than a special attack, a move for which I can't find many good opportunities to use outside of something super gimmicky like doing an air combo into j.2E, j.22A, kotodama cancel into hcf A, then kotadama cancel into 214X. It's a good laugh but not worth the meter usage.

The Akane wiki mentioned 214X is cancellable into Arcana moves but I could never do it. Is there some special rule to it for the timing?
