  1. No love? Fine, another. Zidanel33t vs. Rudy 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQCYpTV-LBw Great match, disgusting ending.
  2. What about after the impact? I've been using it for a random mix-up on some of CO's better players. After knockdown, I rush up, toss a 2k or something like that so it looks like I'm going for a really poorly executed meaty tick-throw, then 6HS on their actual wake-up. Most either try to duck/block, or throw tech. Works wonders, but I want to get the most out of everything, y'know?
  3. Alrighty. Btw, is there anything decent I can do offa 6HS CH with naked, 6HS on crouching opponents?
  4. Bitchin'.
  5. Oh, cool. Thanks! I'll list all of the combos, along with how much damage they do to Sol, once I finish copying them from the tutorial video. :D
  6. Some of these combos and set-ups are disgusting. Why don't more people use 5hs FRC combos? Pretty decent damage off them, especially for naked Zapps.
  7. Hey, how do you do these combos? Do you ID? Naked 5d, jd, jd, 236p 5d, JD, JD, land c.S jc jps, jc jpsd Seen here, around the 5 minute mark: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCjPRG9Yxok
  8. Wait... it's in Oregon. I totally read that wrong. Wow. I'll try to organize a carpool for that shiz, then. EDIT: No carpool to PSU. D: I might actually be going to SER3 instead of SB.
  9. Oh, rite, if we're just doing colours, Reload Slash. Or Slash Reload. Whatever. Hellsap's colours suuuuuuuuuuuck. ♥
  10. I really want to go to that, but I dun think I'll have the money. As is, I'm taking out student loans to travel, lololol.
  11. Wow, are there really that few of us? I knew Zappa players were rare, but I didn't know we were THAT rare. Tight, though. I'll be busting my ass trying to get to competitive level for GG in time for SB3. Be nice to get some more rep for him, especially with how much he's improved since XX.
  12. I thought they could, but was kinda worried about the whole "going too far off topic" deal. So yay, can't wait to see some other Zappas there. Who is good in the States?
  13. When/where is SER-3?
  14. Okay, I know I'm creating a ridiculous amount of threads here, but I want to get as much out of these forums as possible. We have the Zappa location thread being worked on, so there's that, but I want to take it one step further. I don't know about everyone else, but I like to travel for whatever game I'm into. I like to meet players that are better than me, and I like to learn. This is to kind of further that. I would really like to know of any Zappa players going to big tournaments. I'll announce whenever I'm going to one, and would like to know which ones you guys go to, how well you do, and, if we're attending the same tournament, if we can meet up and play a few games/show each other whatever we know. I'll be going to Season's Beatings 3, in all likelyhood. Anyone else planning on attending? Oh, this could also double as a Zappa tournament results thread, or I could create another. I'd really like to keep track of who places where and when.
  15. Okay, I know we have the concrit thread, but personally, I'd like to also have a thread dedicated to really good Zappas/matches involving Zappa. The quickest way for me to learn is to see others doing stuff. I'll start with a match from Eki-Chan. GGXX:AC - 070814 G3 Exhibition - Shuuto(AX) vs. eki-chan(ZA) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41sW02bhErs He loses, but 2:00 and his general style are kinda nice.
  16. So, Eki-chan and Nang In are my favourites to watch currently. I don't see the hype behind Abe, though. He looks slow, is boring to watch, and usually loses. D:
  17. Noice. Thanks, guys. It never even occurred to me to backdash on wake-up. Imma try to get vids up sometime soon of me playing some people at my level, as well as Tage*Proto. While on the subject, what Zappas should I watch?
  18. I used to look up to you. D: Denver, Colorado.
  19. Can you backdash while you're still invul, or should I still worry about meaties? Either way, sounds like a valid option. Chomite, that's the kinda stuff I was looking for. That's hella hot. Why not combine a 5d in there, to have the dog bite or sumdat? Either way, I'm looking forward to trying both of these.
  20. >_> J.H with Raoh, no Raoh?
  21. So, I had this idea halfassed sometime last week, and it's probably going to sound retarded, but I'd like anyone that has more reliable technicals to try this out for me. Zappa has very limited options on wake-up, due to how random he can be after getting hit. What could be a great 236p to beat out virtually anything thrown at you can instead become a very laggy ghost toss, that puts you into CH state for far too long. Or, it can end up being absolutely nothing, if you get the sword or dog. Now, I'm kind of stubborn, so I've been playing around with a couple ideas. The first has to do with negative edging and haunt confirming, of a sort. What you do is start to buffer the 236p on wake-up, and, if you have no ghosts, release the p button on full wake-up. Problem being, I think that you don't receive the haunt until invincibility frames are all gone. If anyone knows about this for sure, I'd really appreciate information. The second one is to buffer 236p, then release it right as it would be able to work for naked, while double-tapping with S, FD, or something like that, just in case it ends up being sword or dog (to override the non-existant super). There's still the problem of the p toss, and my own inability to execute it makes me wonder if it is due to my own terrible technicals, or the fact that it just can't be done. Ideas? Opinions? Obviously, blocking is still his single best option below 50%, but I want to have something more going on wake-up than that, if possible.
  22. I'm having trouble figuring out just how much range Zappa's airthrow has. Like, I kinda see it in training mode, but in practice, I end up airdashing in and jHSing instead. Can you not grab while airdashing? Does Zappa gain any good reversals when he's in Raou, or should I still block?
  23. So, do I still get the frame advantage on things like DA on block, or can she just cancel it? Should I just play counter-bait/super grabby, and abandon pressure unless I have the dog to eat her shit?
  24. So, how exactly does her counter work, then? Does she have to predict whether you're doing mid, overhead, or low, or can she just use it for whatever? Also, I dunno if we should discuss it here or in the main forums, but what's Zappa's best wake-up options? I like the centipedes, but when you stand up and suddenly 236p becomes a ghost toss, you kinda get raped. Suggestions? Most the people I play don't stay close enough to just grab when I'm waking up.
  25. So how do I rush her down? How do I lock her down? I've noticed that the sword does fairly well against her, since you can outpoke her easily, and if she tries to counter 5hs when you space it right, it ends up just leaving her wide open. Ghosts just kinda annoy the both of you, and the dog, while good, has this nasty habit of getting hit. Like most match-ups, I think the dog is the best answer, but I want to know what she can do, and how I can beat it. D: Thanks for everything so far.
