Bringing life to this thread. Is there discord for makotos? I was at cf arcades, i noticed shooting star still wallstuck IF you did counter hit near the corner. Problem was the wall stick is super short, so the basic combo i did was : 236B(shooting star)CH>5A>6A>2D>2C>214AA>5B>6A>jb>jb>623CD it works and does decent damage, but shooting star isn't as good as it was. -

Stargazer and mars chopper now only come out after infinite rush occurs ie 2 hits. It's kind of wierd now since marschopper(overhead) doesn't cause knockdown anymore either. I think these are for just reseting pressure now since they seem to tech really fast after you confirm either of them. Sirius Jolt? 41236C The unblockable isn't really unblockable, but a gimmicky low. If they guard low, they can block and it feels pretty safe? If they guard high, it'll hit and it wallsplats from anywhere, which is really damn satisfying. 2C its faster, so 6B>5C>2C just works, but 6B>5C>214AC>star gazer doesn't work, so it's something to get use to. 5B>6C does not gattling, so you have to 5B>5C>6C if you don't already do that. Off of max range 5B you might want to go straight into lv1 5D and infinite rush ? Not to sure about this. -

Boot up Xrd and play the tutorial. It'll introduce you to alot fo the mechanics, and you'll learn to familiarize yourself with them. play some Challenges to get a feel for different characters. If you plan on playing jack-o, you should pick up someone in the mean time like sol or ky. Play lots and lots of games and get bodied. Learn from your mistakes, fix them, get good.

It depends on when she throws it out. In blockstring/corner you're gonna eat it probably. If you're midscreen, teleport yrc can get you out of it if your fast enough, or possible just shooting stinger and having the ball hit during the startup of trance( it's like 9f?) Burst can usually save you but then bait's can happen. Don't DA, it never works.

From playing against my local venom friend, Raw daruo is surprisingly good for catching him when he's setting up balls and you are at a close enough distance, so it helps to be aggressive but careful in this matchup. Don't do it too much though. Dealing with 6p means fautlessing or baiting it using sword deploy/return to stall in the air. Personally, i play this super aggressively because i don't want to play neutral with venom. A lot of fake pressure helps since he has few defensive options , ex fs detruo 5p dash command grab is fun.

Also another thing i hate about this matchup is how awkward all combos are with him, c.s>623p>pk>c.s>dustloop doesn't work without 2D and that annoys me.

I suck at this matchup, 2H and j.H wreck my shit if i wanna pressure, and stun edge YRC really makes defense hard as hell. People tell me to "zone him" but Ky seems to have an answer to that with grinders and stun edges, as well as long normals to keep me out if I wanna mix up. How do other people do it?

if she uses 6D(2), then she doesn't have her staff or a reversal without heat, so a good counter can really move things in your favor, so in that situation you gotta call a counter or go for a grab.
