  2. It's しぅ I tried a few translation sites...it translates the first character as "Shi" but the second character they all fail to translate, not sure why. Can anyone help with the name?   4. How do you turn yourself around in the air? I'm watching this Bedman that is doing some mixups with jumping over the opponent, then airdash down+P but he always changes the direction he's facing...when i do it, I just face the wrong direction. What's the trick? Edit: found it... has to be a superjump.
  5. Anyone notice that the connection rating displayed in ranked matches seems to not really match up with the connection ratings in player/lobby matches? In particular, I get a lot of players listing as 4 bars in ranked, but when I play them, I have 5-10f delay and it's completely unplayable. A lot of these players end up being Japanese, but I can't really tell until during the match when it shows their card... Why is the connection rating display so wrong?
  6. yeah, instant block the followup and then punish with far S, 5H(1), 236S. At some distances your 5H will whiff but it usually works... Edit: Looks like just 5H(1), 236S works at greater distances...so you can just use that instead for near guaranteed punish, though you'll sacrifice a little bit of damage. Also to punish his invisible grab, don't jump...just hit 5S, timing is pretty lenient. You can do 5S(hits him out of the air), 5H(1), 236H to punish it.
  7. I can confirm that it doesn't work... Also if Ramlethal does 2KP->6S and you're mashing 2P/2K, you won't reach her and the 6S sword will actually hit you.
  8. I feel like this matchup is 8-2 Millia...it seems really lopsided. First, Millia seems to outrange Bedman on most of her pokes and they're also faster than Bedman's. In most cases if I try to play footsies, they beat me to it, even though they aren't actually trying to play footsies with me (they're just dashing in doing normals while I'm trying to react to the dash ins with normals). It's just counterhit after counterhit for me, even when I do normals way in advance...it's really baffling. Because of this, it feels like she can dash around whenever and however she wants, which makes her build tension much more than Bedman does. Millia can run under projectiles at various heights. She also can crouch the ground one, eliminating many setups (yes you can TK the projectiles but then they don't hit meaty, so she can jump away). Her standing hitbox is also strange in that you can't do a lot of dash mixups on her. Millia can do whatever she wants when she lands a knockdown. Parry teleport isn't viable here. Seriously, what can be done? I can't play footsies with her on the ground or the air. Attempting to anti-air jumps with 6P either gets stuffed by the normal (her IAD is really fast so it's hard to react quickly) or she throws the pin which beats the anti-air clean.
  9. You should be instant blocking Slayer's pressure...it's one of the easiest characters to instant block to be honest. Instant blocking K Mappa is a free punish. Also Slayer's hurtbox when knocked down with a sweep, is pretty big compared to other characters...probably the biggest even? You can do combos into sweep from fairly far away and still be able to combo 236S without it hitting as OTG. You should be using bigger combos against Slayer because of that, play around with it in practice mode. You know what I see many Bedmans guilty of? The moment they create a seal...they dejavu it, even though opponent isn't near it to get hit. Why do you do this? It's almost like giving them a reminder that it exists (which is bad). More specifically I'm talking about air 236S high in the air when opponent is grounded or air 236H seals close to you while the opponent is a full screen away.
  10. Why are you unsafe after 236S? You can walk backwards a slight bit before doing 214S and they shouldn't be able to throw you or reversal dp. To be honest, I don't find 214S useful after OTG...if they don't tech the OTG, the 214S completely whiffs.
  11. She's probably better overall, but less oppressive with the orb super. I'm really liking these changes (aside from orb nerf) and I want to play her.
  12. I actually use 236K after a sweep. You get far more options afterwards.
  13. Link to Batako getting destroyed by Bedman? I've only seen him destroying Tsubu. It's hard to find any videos of Ramlethals getting destroyed by Bedmans, it's a very rough match.
  14. What does Bedman have against Axl that prevents Axl from shutting him down? I haven't really seen any Japanese Bedman vs Axl matches so I can't say... From what I've seen, Bedman is a bad matchup for Pot. Yeah, even if FAB beat Tsubu.

Not sure if this is just me and if it's something specific to Bedman or just something with the game mechanics themselves but sometimes when I land a task C knockdown and then do task C dejavu YRC, it actually comes out as a red RC, even though it didn't actually make contact with the opponent. I'm pretty puzzled by why that is, I don't think I'm inputting it late. Makes me waste extra meter for no reason.
  16. Hi, we played just now... One of your big issues was that you didn't really block when you should have. We only had 2f of delay, so blocking was pretty possible in those circumstances but you were getting hit by lows, Task B seals and other stuff. Didn't really mixup when you got the wakeup.   17. What do you recommend when out of range against a crouching opponent? Sometimes 236S doesn't combo from 5H or fS and depending on the character, sweep into 236S hits as OTG.

Uses that fS, 2S, 2H, 236A string a lot (I use this too admittedly). He also uses most of his meter on YRC dashes or just in neutral to slow down the game. Learned some new things from this.
  19. So if I land a knockdown from Task C midscreen, what exactly should I be doing on oki? I feel like midscreen, unless I can find some reliable way to sandwich the opponent between me and the task C seal, I only really get one usage of task C, before the opponent is pushed too far for it to reach again. So yeah, it's just one mixup attempt and that seal has done it's work.
  20. Grenade shouldn't be an issue at all...it's basically a free teleport parry. Yeah, the player might be waiting for the teleport but the teleport is not actually punishable. At worst, they will continue to pressure you but atleast the grenade won't be there locking you down.
  21. So is there footage of Rise in the new patch? I watched a few tournaments (acho and some central arcade) and none of them had a single Rise player...I thought these buffs might make people want to play her but nope.
  22. Maybe all the slayers I fought suck but I just throw out 2K and sweep and they can't do any dandy shenanigans. A lot of them abuse K Mappa, which can be IB'd and punished with 2P.

    My experience with that is their dp auto corrects and hits me anyway...have to test more in the lab.
  25. Well I'm not saying it from the perspective that I'm a top Bedman player or that I beat top players. I'd say it takes more work just simply because he's a complex character and his style just happens to require more work...I don't think it means that he's more helpless than other characters...I mean he's gimped like some other characters are in the sense that he doesn't have a meterless reversal, but not that many do.
