  1. ...no, you're still good, I'm just retarded and though the rockies/middle plains were central time zone. I'll change the name.
  2. It's the same way you deal with any zoner as a character with short range. Patience is your key virtue. You'll have to watch for habits your opponent does and find some way to slip in past their projectiles if you want to punish, don't jump if something's already out, use your double jumps to slip in, IAD when you know there's an opening, or just plain ol' walking forward and blocking any projectiles they do fire. Eventually you will get in, and then you just don't let up. Like you said, Chie has very good pressure and okizeme, so once you're in your threat zone it's much more important to stay in it. Also remember that a lot of characters who are zoning you out still have to get in to be really effective. If you play patient enough and don't let them simply zone you out while moving in, they'll often start coming closer to you to try and keep their momentum, and then you've got them playing your game, not theirs. There's no real trick Chie has to get in really quickly or make all projectiles null, you'll have to learn how to weave in through the barrages and keep them from running away. EDIT: Also, after messing around some on netplay, I found you CAN kara cancel 2B into 2A+B, giving you just that extra bit more range on her sweep. Good to know, hell might even help some combos. Also, doing D meteors while your opponent is cornered then running up and grabbing them is legit mean. The meteors fly over their head, but the sound still goes off so most players will just start blocking, expecting to block the meteors and your mixup, giving you a really easy grab. You can still use C meteors to actually hit them too if they get smart and try to mash out or tech the grab.
  3. Short dash, a quick 66. Sorry, thought I caught all of those when transferring combos. I'll fix it when I get the chance.
  4. If I get time tonight I'll try to get into training mode to help get a general idea of what's + on block and what isn't. The gatling table shooooooould be in the data thread, but I still have to look over that stuff. I'm gonna be working late tonight though so I'm not sure if I'll have the time to get everything sorted If you want to try testing frame advantage, go into training mode and record the dummy and just hold back. Then set the dummy to block everything, hit them with whatever, start playback, and walk forwards or back, and see who starts moving first. It's not perfect but until we get a good mook it'll help you give an idea at least. Also something that's been bugging me that I want to test: seeing if you can kara cancel into Chie's sweep from her 2B. I've been able to kara cancel into her parry, and since her 2B moves her forward it coooooould work maybe? Would help a lot since her sweep lacks range and any little bit is helpful. If someone else wants to test, I'd appreciate it.
  5. If someone wants to hit me up on skype to start helping me bang out the matchup forums, I'd really appreciate it. Skype is Amadeous4446; if you need to add me as a contact be sure to say you're from Dustloop or something so I know you're not a bot. Thanks.
  6. There was discussion of this over in the combo thread too. Try delaying the first 236B too. Once you get the timing down it becomes really easy, I probably did it about 5 tries in a row once I got it once. Just keep at it, you can do it.
  7. The game has advanced inputs like BB, use them! (It's still tight though lol)
  8. Yeah, you have to tap is just a little bit after when you would normally chain it. It's really a slight delay, but once you get the timing down it's easy. Took me a while to get it and afterwards I did it 5 times in a row easily.
  9. Something I just discovered in training mode: If you're having trouble with CH j.B land 5B 236B 236B, do CH j.B land 2B TK 236B 236B, it's MUCH easier. Not sure on how the damage is yet though, if someone can test that I'd appreciate it. Combo is ch j.b land 5b 236b 236b micro dash 5c dash cancel 5a 5c j.b jc j.b 236c versus ch j.b land 2b 2369b 236b micro dash 5c dash cancel 5a 5c j.b jc j.b 236c I haven't tested past the micro dash yet though, so the combo might just drop outright, but I don't see a reason for it to. Edit: whoops, there IS a catch, if you catch them with the j.B too low you won't have time to 2B. So watch that.
  10. Just did it, confirmed. Delay the 5b -> 5c and delay the 236B. It's very slight, but yes.
  11. If someone out there wants to attempt one, be my guest. I only have SD recording equipment, so anything I do will look like ass :V
  12. Yeah, let me make it clear, I'm definitely not saying just mash it as hard as you can every time, that would be very bad and get you beat up. I'm saying it's definitely not as bad as you say it is though, because it's still very threatening.
  13. Thanks, went ahead and updated it.

  15. IAD = Instant Air Dash. It's pretty self-explanatory, jump, then input the air-dash as fast as you can. It's pretty common among games that have air-dashes. Have a look over at the dustloop wiki if you have any other questions!
  16. Re: Chie's reversal aciton: Use it like a parry; both Jam and Makoto have < 10 frames to successfully parry something after the input. You should be using it to stuff obvious jump-ins and braindead pressure or meaty overheads, NOT something you can just mash while you're being comboed or when they're trying to grab you and hope they drop it. Plus Chie's has an advantage over Makoto or Jam where you can just hold back while countering and block anything they mistime to punish a parry. It's not a DP, don't use it like one.
  17. From what I did see, she's got Jam's movement; a very fast run and a short backdash. Her reach and such actually feels a little worse than Jam's, but it's probably just me. Her gameplan seems similar though, get knockdowns and use your oki to drag them to the corner where you get your real damage, and scare the opponent into getting CH where you can take off half their life off. She also seems really good at controlling jump-ins. 2B moves you forward so you do have to watch that, but 236C/Ryujin is hilarious and has active frames for days. Just don't get obvious with it or let it get blocked haha. Still leads to a good combo on CH though, need to figure out what I can do though. Also her reversal action is really good I feel. Stops jump-ins for free, really hard to punish since there's nothing to bait. If you want to punish it you have to just delay your attack or grab, it's basically the same way you deal with Jam's parry. Oh and since it's fast and doesn't really commit you to anything at range...use it to enter awakening mode. Once I get some real training in I can give you a more accurate idea of her. Take this all with a grain of salt right now lol.
  18. Eh, let him play who he wants to play. If he likes characters with rushdown and pressure even at the sacrifice of range, let him. Haven't quite picked up P4U yet but I'm heading out in like 20 minutes to go pick it up, then I'll be grinding all night after work. I played some yesterday at the arcade and got a few hours in, mostly against Circuitous' Kanji. She definitely does feel like Jam from Guilty Gear, never played Noel much in BB so I don't know how she relates to her. I'll be trying to update the forums as much as I can with stuff I discover or complete along with anything people post and I can confirm about her. Hopefully I'll have enough information to do a starter guide before Summer Jam. Also; MagicalSymphony. If we ever play each other, dibs on Jam palette. And thanks Dusk.
