You guys need to come down to Ohio and do for Blazblue what I did for Guilty Gear up in Michigan. No one plays that shit down here ._.
-
I first started playing Blazblue because "oh hey new fighter by ArcSys, Guilty Gear was awesome hopefully I'll like this too!" Well, it made me interested in learning fighting games at least. I kinda forgot about Blazblue for a while, focusing on getting better in Guilty Gear and overall getting frustrated with no characters that appealed to me and a lack of balance in Blazblue (this was around CS1, and the one character I DID want to learn was Tsubaki). Toward the end of CS2 I started to play it a bit more, though Guilty Gear is still my main game. I do like CSE though, and Lambda is really fun to play. I switched to her at the end of CS2, I just love how she can easily force oki and has fun mixup, along with a great ability to control space and high damage hit confirms. In that way, she's a lot like a Guilty Gear character.

Fair enough. I'll say this though, even though their fight nights are on Thursdays it's a lot easier for me to get down there on the weekends. Fortunately I have a few friends down near Cinci that are always willing to show so at least we'd have some players.

I've decided I'm dodging Leo and Brandino the entire time I'm in Atlanta at FR. Yo fuck y'all I'm keeping my King of Michigan title.

I stand by my post in that thread. '^' -
If she's outside of Cinci that's easier said than done, haha. Sometime after I get back Murki, we'll see if I can't pick you up on the way to AL. :D

Hey I try to make it out to Arcade Legacy as much as I can. That's by Cinci! More like Ohio: Too Damn far apart and nothing inbetween but corn.
-
It's so true though. Millia's fucking oki is easier to deal with than Sol "Do Whatever the Fuck I Want" Badguy.
-
Where do you live, Murki? I'm gonna be down in Atlanta from the 3rd till the 16th so we probably can't hang out anytime soon though XD

[CS2/CSE] Lambda Critique And Self-Improvement Thread
Amadeus46Art replied to HexaNoid's topic in v -13-
Well I just got done playing CSE against another human for the first time. No videos, but really it just comes down to "play more", I think. I was playing against a Rachel who hasn't played much either, so I was managing to do fairly well, but that has more to do with the fact that I'm more used to Lambda than he's used to Rachel, probably. Anyway... My big problems were being under pressure/in close range. I could usually backdash out of his blockstrings when they weren't airtight, but trying to poke him out before he even starts them seems like it's just going to get me killed. I was only really having luck with 3C it seems like, and I'm gonna assume Rachel can just do her little spinning hop attack over it so it's probably not something to rely on. There were a few rounds where I had to burst early just because I lost half my life being pressured or getting hit, and from there I was able to bring the match around, but I'm thinking that's really bad if I have to fight a rushdown character. Midrange I'm pretty confident, I was able to keep him guessing with my swords, and make sure he had trouble getting in at least. I could use more work on using reaction 6D to grab his IADs, but that's about it. I guess I play very cautious though, I wasn't moving in much to start an assault, occasionally I'd use 236B or 236A into a throw to keep him from getting complacent, but I was for the most part keeping my distance with drives. Again, probably not a good universal strategy. On offense I think I was great though! One knockdown and I was able to pretty nicely control the pace of the match, and Lambda being able to force oki with 236D/214D is really what drew me to her anyway. I think I really just need to practice more, find more mix-ups and nail my combos more. I was getting a lot of bluebeats, sadly. 236236D was what I used to "get the momentum" at neutral if I had the meter, not sure if I should save that more for combos. Anyway, thoughts? I don't record much since it's a hassle for me, but if I get the time later this week I think I'll be able to. Lambda's definitely the most fun I've had in BB, just her mix-up is amazing and I love her offense. I'm just worried about being on the defensive side of things. -
Well my flight back home is the 16, so I'll only be able to make it to one meetup. Sounds cool though, and I'm sure I'll meet more of you guys at FR. Thanks!

Hey Atlanta guys, I'm gonna be heading out there from the "land of corn and no sunshine" for 2 weeks starting on the 3rd. Obviously I'm gonna get to Final Round, but I was wondering where the usual meet-up spot/time is for GG/BB. I'll be busy during the weekdays in the mornings till probably about 4 or 5, so I'll be plenty fine for the meetings. Oh, for reference, my hotel is by the Cumberland Mall, on the Northwest edge of the outerbelt.

Dustloop wiki feedback thread

That's for nearly every guilty gear page right now, actually. I just dumped the table format at the end of every page's skeleton, the only pages where it's not like that are the ones that have actually been worked on. People are welcome to fix it, I just haven't gotten the chance to. -

It's not so much that Baiken's hard, just that Jam's one of the easier characters in the game to pick up and play. We were discussing this on the stream, haha. Jam's got really good, easy combos that lead to high damage, the thing that actually determines if you want to keep playing her though is when you fight at a higher level and have to deal with spacing. And also, when grand finals is a Bridget v. Johnny (good shit Mahouko and Ahmaad), I don't think "character quality" really matters at these events ;3 -

It's also worth SB when your opponent gets lazy/autopilots, but that's for when you're much better. Earlier I was practicing SB Testament's 2D in blockstrings, since a lot of Testament players like to end any blockstring with it and go into EXE pressure. SBing projectiles can also be worth it for the tension pulse gain.
