I won't stop and counter-point out all the obvious trolling (which I hope you're joking about), but you should ask for the CEO thread to be stickied. It was posted over 2 weeks ago and no one has made a post in it except for the OP. If it's supposed to be treated like a major, then it should be represented like one. I had no clue CEO was happening, as I don't check SRK. I also don't look at tournament threads made by someone I don't recognize or that only have 1 post in them after 2 weeks. With that said, I won't be going to either, but I hope these tournaments bring some hype together for EVO.

If you end up getting the HRAP3, make sure you take care of the cord and take extra special care of where the cord enters the stick. The rubber/plastic shielding the cord as this point has been known to split after lots of use and abuse. Once that splits the next things to go are the wires inside, and once the wires go you have a useless stick. I've experienced this and it sucks. I've have the same thing happen to friends as well, and it sucked for them. A way around this is to open up your stick and run the cord around the pegs (holding it in place) a few more times. This takes all the possible tension off of the weakest part of the cord, and increases the life of your stick at the cost of a couple inches off of the length of the cord. I can post pictures later if you want. Edit: Forget what I said. I was talking about the wrong stick. If I were to choose, I'd get the TE because there's more room for my wrist and it's heavier.

LK is going to FR. I'm still on the ropes about it, since I think I'd have to take off a day from work + spend more money... though I'm really tempted since I've never been to FR. Lots of new people to play and I wouldn't have to help run anything.

In the States there's actually a website geared toward giving active students a cheap rate on plane tickets. Send LK a PM asking him if he still has the site bookmarked, but I'm pretty sure this is the site he's tried to use in the past. All you have to do is get them to verify that you are a student and you've got yourself some cheap tickets to EVO. The approval process takes a couple days IIRC, so don't sit on this for 7 months and try to do it last minute. I'm not sure if it applies to you though, since your school is in Canada. Edit: 5. I was just looking at plane ticket costs as well and they're up over $500 right now, which is pretty ridiculous. Also, ironically enough, I was reading an article on when plane tickets seem to cost the least... I would also suggest: -Waiting a couple more months before buying your plane tickets. -Stuff as many people into a room as possible (and play RPS to see who gets bed). I'm not sure if this would make a difference, but how far of a drive is the closest US airport to you guys? It might be cheaper to drive and fly than rather just flying.

I can see this as a good idea... but who would have to write it in order for people not to shit on it?

We should start a list on the first page with who has registered (or coming) to EVO for BB. This would give us a good idea of the numbers we're actually getting. It would also let us know if it's possible to run a side event. Too many people interested in a side event on the off-day would probably make it impossible to run, unless we somehow manage to get enough resources to do it: get to the BYOC area early to secure setups, have enough people to volunteer, etc... I think a smaller/shorter event would do better than an all-day thing... like a 2v2/3v3 single elimination tournament or something. A double-elim tournament would just add to the time for possible things to go wrong. The shorter the event, the better.

Mike, Reggie, Steve (LK), Joe (one of Mike's friend's), and I. I think that Zappa player from south Jersey showed up for a little bit too which was kind of cool, but I was too busy trying to like AH3. I don't like AH3. I need to book my room for Winter Brawl...

Yo BBQ, I'm gonna pick up LK sometime tonight (probably around 7-8ish) and go to Mike's for a while. Usually what happens is I pass out after midnight sometime and whoever is there keeps playing until morning. How could I possibly make this work for you?
