  1. 2013-07-27 Mikado 3on3 Teresa (JA) vs. O2 (AX) around 00:55 2013-08-01 Mikado 3on3 AGF (AN) vs. Yaxl (AX) Teresa (JA) vs. Yaxl (AX) Teresa is a beast. Jeez. Random hits into a billion damage.
  2. Dizzy's not a bad guess, since she was stuck in that crystal for a while and all. Maybe they'll let Bridget hit puberty?
  3. I forget that Guilty Gear actually does have a story. Changed in what way? Gameplay? Visual design?
  4. Er, I'm not sure we actually agree. I was arguing that making the game harder is a good thing because it makes the decisions matter more. In the example I gave, you probably DAA under AC's system, because you can still do a big combo after getting out of the pressure. But under the new system, you might choose to take your chances and keep blocking so that you can conserve meter to even out the life totals later on. It's a shift in how you have to think about the situation.
  5. You're at 75% meter. Your opponent has been beating you down pretty badly and has you in the corner. You're both out of burst. You see your opponent about to commit to an attack. Do you DAA or hope to weather the pressure? How about with the new RC system? Removing decision points can actually make the game harder.
  6. A couple of points here: 1) I firmly believe that the game can accomodate any system well with the right number tweaks. Arc has a good track record with that, so I'm inclined to be cautiously optimistic that they won't break their own game. 2) Making big combos cost 50% by default actually encourages tighter meter management and makes the game more meter-centric. Suddenly, it becomes even harder to know when to FD and DAA and such (and as to FDing, it now becomes way better to know how to press, rather than hold, FD, which makes for a mechanically deeper high-level metagame!). Tougher choices always encourages tighter play.
  7. Formerly FRCable moves now needing to be RCed just means we have to re-evaluate how to spend our meter, and also that Arc will either need to re-balance tensionless combo options or give us more tension in general. Not anything too hard to overcome, just something we're not used to yet. Yes, but we mustn't underestimate the appeal of no longer requiring two-frame timing of every newbie.
  8. Everyone will certainly follow that rule. Darn, Arcsys has foiled us again.
  9. I'm just sayin', I totally called the R.I.S.C. Rating system. RCing anything (probably coupled with a reworked Tension pulse) seems like a potentially very nice replacement for FRCs.
  10. People weren't as unhappy about Taki and Kilik and such getting replaced (though they weren't pleased) as they were about niche characters such as Talim, Yun-Seong, and Seong Mi-Na getting left out due to the game being a rush job.
  11. I would seriously consider not playing the game anymore. I can't stand Blazblue's ukemi system, it just feels wrong to me in a 2D fighter.
  12. I guess I'll point out that the new meter could be a reworked guard bar, i.e. it now fills from zero to full and they just calculate damage proration some other way when the guard bar is empty.
  13. Arc Revo Cup Matsuki (DI) vs. AZ (AX) Ide-san (AX) vs. Roi (SO) Jobana (AX) vs. Erufiyu (IN) Jobana (AX) vs. Chonari (ZA) Jobana (AX) vs. OsakaB (FA)
  14. Which means Xrd will come out on consoles in late 2014/early 2015, and the +R patch for AC should be available shortly afterward! Awesome.
  15. Hey, that's all right! Such is life.
  16. Master's Cup Day 2: Haisha Kyushu Tournament O2 (AX) vs. SO at 6:05 O2 (AX) vs. Sammito (CH) at 5:40, O2 (AX) vs. KL at 7:25
  17. I would not be able to attend if it were the next week, as that weekend is Grand Prix Detroit, a large Magic: the Gathering tournament.
  18. I assume you mean RC? RCing makes red circles and costs 50% meter, while FRCing is timing- and move-specific, makes blue circles, and costs 25% meter. (Or are you playing the PS Vita version?) You shouldn't have to RC/FRC it. Just keep working on the timing and you'll eventually get it.
  19. Okay, dumb question incoming: are the BADC games played on arcade cabinets or on consoles?
  20. You're probably just not doing it fast enough. Press 2S as fast as you can and it should connect. For future reference - and I'm not trying to be rude, I promise! - character-specific questions are more appropriately asked in the character's subforum. I'm always eager to answer questions that come in the Axl General Q&A thread, so just poke the sub whenever you need help!
  21. Glad to help!
  22. OH MY GOSH I CAN PLAY SEONG MI-NA AGAIN. <3 Edit: Excuse me, Seung Mina.
  23. There's an FRC point on Rensengeki. Go into Training Mode and turn on inputs. When the input bar flashes blue during Rensengeki, that's the FRC window.
  24. What are you trying that isn't working? And combos in GG are generally shorter than BB combos. For example: (Axl) 5K c.S 2D [4]6S(FRC) 66 c.S 2S sjc j.H j.D 63214S Is a classic BnB, and it's pretty short, all things considered.
