  1. Are you talking about her doing 6HS on your wakeup? If that's the case, please don't do anything and just block it (or better yet, instant block it if you know what that is). In her blockstrings, be patient and wait it out for now. Also, there's no such thing as a "second 6HS that throws". There is 6HS (where she stomps the ground and does this shoving motion) and the followup (where she does a little force punch). If you're getting thrown, that just means she's walking up to you and throwing you. In that case, if you see it, just jump up.
  2. Thanks Blade!:yaaay:
  3. You know what I just realized. My avatar is Eddie-related even though I have no fucking idea how to play Eddie. Also it is 1AM and I am sitting in a hotel room in Guangzhou, China. I will look at this post years from now and mock myself.

  4. Yea I just can't rely on doing 2D > CR midscreen. He always knows to FD and then Ice Spike. 5S.c is obviously not a problem. And yea, this match, like many others, is pretty much whoever can mount the more vicious offensive first, as both characters have pretty terribad defensive outs. It's a really big pain in the ass that fish can eat hits for you, so just make sure you watch out for that. I've lost many, many, many close matches because of that. Otherwise, most of what you've said aligns pretty well with what I've mentioned. Need some more specifics though - calling all high level Venoms! Oh wait :8/:
  5. Was in Guangzhou, China today playing against their locals, and there was one player using Dizzy that I was having an especially hard time with. It might just be purely my lack of matchup knowledge (which is why I am here), cause I kept getting hit by her ambiguous crossups and tick-throw setups (which are annoying as hell). Just some things I noticed and could use a little more help with in the matchup: -If you end a blockstring with Carcass Raid midscreen, she can Ice Spike in response and trade in her favor. -Fighting her in the air is a pretty freaking bad idea. I ended up jumping a lot to dodge laser fish and lightning spikes, but her jumping normals eat me alive. So I'd just jump up a lot and...block lol. Probably better to stay grounded in the match. -Balls are pretty much > than her crap, so if you can get the upper hand in the projectile war, DON'T STOP. Force her into a corner where she's pretty much helpless. -What she can do to gain space is sj.2S to stall and then double air-dash across the screen. Pretty good way to get past any regular formations. Next time I play I'll probably use more K-S.ball > 2P followed by some rsj.D yomi. -Not sure what normals of mine strictly outclass hers, so I'll need some help from you guys. I do know that a well-timed 2S from her will fuck you up, so don't get jump-happy. I haven't tested it enough, but I'm not sure if 6P is sure-fire safe against her j.2S. I'm usually scared so I just block :/ -6HS and 5S will randomly beat out Ice Spike if she responds too slowly. Vice versa rofl. -Fullscreen wars - the risk/reward for shooting HS.Stingers is pretty decent. Just make sure she's not ready to IAD or has a laser fish out. Uh, any other help is appreciated. I know DI vs VE happens ALL the time in America
  6. More like baskets of used crap. Yet, I saw a used GGXX going for 20 bucks. True story. None can hide the game's quality, even past all these years.
  7. I know for sure TGS is around and will answer any questions you have. Try finding him in the ggxx IRC channel.
  8. Get off of my page.

  9. I'm not sure whether I should be sad or happy about that. either way I'm probably already dead so it doesn't matter.

  10. I didn't know you guys were going in the afternoon, otherwise I woulda went. Something in my brain just automatically assumed that everyone was gonna go around after dinner, like we always do. Didn't get to swing my balls around.
  11. I would go tonight but I'm watching ZombieLand with some L4D friends.
  12. 1F jump or throw him in return. If the Slayer is any good, the throw will be option selected and a 5S will come out instead. Not sure if Baiken can punish that, but against any Slayer that was being lazy, he'll get a whiffed 5H, which should totally be punishable. Ditto to FDC Bite.
  13. W T F I guess we'll make it an AI weekend. I'll be there after dinner (probably 9-ish).
  14. No problem bro! Don't sweat the formation thing either. It looks cool, but if you can't get it down it won't affect your gameplay.
  15. Wow. Some people come to the party late, but that's okay! First off, that dubious curve setup was already talked about 2 pages back (and also previously in almost every thread). It is a very common setup to use if you get a low launch, bounce, or don't think the damage is worth it off of a very prorated 2K starter. There are a ton of other formations you can do with this, since you always get two lightning balls and one regular. P-H-S is the other common one seen. Also, that's a 5K > 6P in your combo. Venom does not have a 6K. Secondly, the triple-ball split thing is pretty simple to perform. K.Ball > S.Ball > 2P > S.Stinger Aim Cancel. The trick is to hold the [4] from the 214S then drop down to [1] for the 2P just as the K.Ball and S.Ball are about to meet. Then you press 6 > P. The ball that is supposed to be charging at the tip of Venom's pool cue collides with the moving K and S balls, causing all three to fan out in pretty even directions. It covers a lot, but even then it's just more fancy than it is useful, as a regular K.S Ball > 2P would cover almost the same amount of ground.
  16. I'll think about going just to see your sexy ass.
  17. Youtube is your friend. For now, just try to emulate combos and techniques that you see, don't worry about looking for advanced stuff. Just see how they move, what normals they're using in what situations, and how they combo off of them. There are a lot of different Jams and Chipps - I'm not too keen on the Chipps (Samitto?), but you could look at Ka2 and Kazu for Jam (both are more conservative Jams imo, unlike Mike or Lox).
  18. Well they both have dragon punches to get out of the corner if your opponent is spamming, but neither can take THAT much punishment. Yes, Chipp's damage modifier is worse, but Jam isn't THAT much better. Either character choice seems fine. Chipp maybe be more difficult to pick up because it's Accent Core, but we don't have enough of those in the states (whereas we have a million Jams). Take that into some consideration, as playing a character that most opponents have little matchup knowledge of can be a huge advantage here (sad as that is).
  19. lol show KO1 raping in his prime. Be warned that I-No has a steep learning curve for a new player like you. I really suggest you just pick one character you really, really like, both in playstyle and looks, and stick to it. It doesn't get any easier.
  20. HAHAHAHAHHAAAHAAHH this thread smells fishy...like jiyuna fishy...
