  1. I need you.
  2. That's cause dustloop sucks ass and you know it.
  3. Yep. Eddies will try and bait your 6P all day with fly-mode and his j.S is pretty damn good and will often times trade if not beat out an improperly-timed 6P.
  4. Heya Jakestation. Everything I'm about to tell you comes from personal experience and observing Japanese match videos. -The key is to stay mobile and NOT GET HIT. Remember not to be overly jump happy, or at least be aware of little Eddie's HS anti-air if you do. Any knockdown will lead to the long ass string followed by unblockables x N or various other pressure options. -Score that knockdown. Both characters are weak in the "get out of pressure" department, so whoever starts the rain first has a huge upper-hand in the match. -Watching Japanese videos, Kball followed by j.HS is an awesome way to snipe down little Eddie if your opponent isn't ontop of things (like covering him with drills). -Trying to zone with balls is okay, but watch out for Drunkard Shade. Hitting angled balls helps with this, because they'll bounce downwards instead of straight back at you. -Once little Eddie is low on meter or gone, start the pressure. Without little Eddie, Zato has absolute crap options for escaping, so just rain on his ass till he cracks. I don't know the matchup well-enough to give you normal vs. normal breakdowns, but I can tell you that if you're trading hits close range vs Eddie and you lose, you're going to get hurt a lot. Most of how I hit Eddie just comes out of him cracking under pressure, throws, and IADing to punish drill attempts. Hope this helps.
  5. this thread needs more lovin
  6. I've said it before. It's mostly because there's a new HoS player around here and he randomly goes on SV spamming streaks to get me conditioned. I haven't played him more than a few times, so I haven't gotten used to bating it in certain situations, which means I'm eating a lot more SVs than I should - that and prematurely ending my pressure because I'm scared of it (a connected SV usually means the reverse from my pressure into his berserker mode). Now that I know 2S-ball pressure is the best option, I will definitely be using it. On the other hand, there's also ANOTHER player trying to learn HoS and I have no trouble against because he doesn't spam SV. Go figure.
  7. Thanks for the reverse insight, reaVer. I see most of that happening, especially the part about not FRCing a long-ranged Stinger Aim for a free IAD j.HS CH. Corner pressure really doesn't work that well against HoS yea, and I also can't seem to agree with the 5.5-4.5 ratio (not sure why N-O put is as such, I have a much harder time against HoS than others in the cast). Also, note that the timing is super-strict on throw > x.dubious for whatever reason on HoS. (as for the note on N-O airthrowing, the matches I've seen he usually air-throws a HoS that is trying to IAD escape pressure)
  8. Good stuff. I want to emphasize the fact that you have to understand HoS's max jump range (max attack range) to be able to zone him. Stinger Aims can be punished from a pretty far distance, so make sure you're doing it far enough. Don't try to 6P his j.HS unless you do it early enough. I didn't know that you could just backdash j.HS, I'll have to try that (that move scares the shit out of me). Other random notes (that may have been pointed out, but must be emphasized): -do not spam 6HS, that shit will get SV'd all day. -do not attempt to fight HoS close-range: you will lose. -easiest way to deal with HoS close up? Don't let him get in! :P -zone with 5S/2S/SA/5P and 6PIng balls but WATCH for anti-air opportunities. As soon as HoS feels like he can't approach you from the ground, he WILL jump. Catch him with a 6H or 6P depending on distance. -don't get too predictable with your pokes (or at least have a ball for protection), because he can running 2D under a pball/SA or running SV through your farther pokes. -if you're insane like N-O you can airthrow them all the time :O
  9. He's still alive and gay.
  10. DUDE BRIDGET. I want to learn Bridget but too bad he's kinda fucking hard
  11. lol. Learning Eddie as a first character? Is that even a good idea? Oh well, just make sure he learns to block TK Ensenga and he'll be able to beat half of America.
  12. Just did mine. Nothing fancy. Added Seimitsu clear buttons, a Seimitsu square-gate stick, and Seimitsu bubble ball-top then vinyled the bitch. The base is a HRAP. http://trashpile.net/upload/sticktop.jpg http://trashpile.net/upload/stickside.jpg
  13. I saw some of your fights, I don't recall anything in particular. lol you were doing alright, just a bit unconventional to what I'm used to seeing (but then again, everyone's slayer is kinda different) NNN can be found in the a-cho (I think) 23v23 best. Like, NNN/Nanashi/N-O vs. 3 millias (nakamura/woshige/someone) and vs. 3 testaments (someone/mint/shounen). NNN goes by neko in some fights (I think that's what his alias was for SBO 2007 dvd). He plays the yellow-green/white Venom color for reference.
  14. Yea probably. Note a lot of the crossup combos in that video use D-H-P. It's actually a pretty good setup if you can get the distancing right. Watch NNN (or neko) if you want to see lots of crossups.
  15. I'm pretty sure I saw you @ evo playing a yellow/green SL. Could you give me the 00:00 on requiem so I can look at it?
  16. Yes it does. The only reason why people think it's really good is cause they airdash into it / try to jump out of tight pressure all day long. Also, if you are right above Venom 6HS will whiff. lol. EDIT: Ross, your SL color is very ugly (sorry, had to say something)
  17. lol. People just gradually stopped showing up. I still try to host every Tuesday and Thursday, but I only get 3-4 people (Bryan, Urzakor, razyrbyrn, Hellmonkey), so give me a call. 714 928 2720
  18. QFT. I don't double tap and neither does koogy, so it isn't 100% necessary. But if you can, learning to double tap will help out a lot.
  19. @JO IM DOWN. Always need more people to practice against.
  20. @Hayato: No, he isn't. @Jonny: Post on SRK for more info (when the site is up). I'm sure you can find someone to carpool down here.
  21. are you kidding me, I go there all the time. I have to play against super-scrubs all day. There are only a few decent people that show up there once in a while.
  22. bizarro and mike z for starters. (and the only ones I know for sure) We have large gatherings at pulsr's place just about every other weekend for GG if you're willing to drive down to the Mission Viejo area. Depending on what part of LA you live, we can set up leapfrogs or carpool. Hit me up if you got questions. 714 928 2720 (also check the SRK socal gg thread for better updates on local events)
  23. "Do not be scared of blocking." LOL. You should tattoo this to everyone's eyeballs in America so they don't forget.
  24. Lime-Key won a large 3v3 tourney with Anji. Koichi won DF2 2v2 with I-no. BLEED was on the second team place @ SBO 2007 with Johnny. Mugen was in the top 8 of SBO 2008 with Buri. QFT. Skill > tiers. Get hype.
