Ranking Battles are designed to gauge people over the course of time (either for points or seeding or prize). Say we have a monthly ranbat and at the end of the year or something we have NCI. What the ranbats are designed to do is take the best people from those that can make it out and seed them accordingly (like the playoffs in the superbowl: good records get buys while the 3/4 teams faceoff against the 5/6 teams). It's designed in such a way so that those who are good do not face each other early and makes for more entertaining matches. The better you place in those ranbats the better your chance of relaxing a little bit or scoping out the competition before your first match. Anyway with the smaller ranking battles within each games community it makes it easier to organize and seed people based on games. If you hold 3 ranking battles at one venue for 3 different games (not only do you get a large amount of people but the time to run it and the failures that might occur will become greater). If you break it down to each game and each community it makes it much easier to manage and seed people. If everyone uses the same point system than it should balance themselves out with who gets top seed (in the event of tie points with respect to regions then make the region that had more turnout be placed higher [ie had more competition to fight through])

I think the $8 and $10 for the tourny was for not only venue fee but entry fee also. If you really wanted to make it just $8 and $10 then you need to also add in the venue fee. Otherwise the true pot size was limited to $5 for pre-reg and $6 for non. If you wanted so cal or even east coast then you could always move it to $10 per game to make it worth their while.

Anything over SJSU, at this point. No offense but man sometimes running events there never get off the ground or end up being run into the ground.

For the last few tournies we had, we rarely if ever from my knowledge have anything go missing. We're a nice lot but just mark your stuff that you will be using and always remember where you leave it. Outside of that you shouldn't have a problem losing it. If you do by some chance lose it, one of the people will be bound to pick it up and report it.

Oiboi didn't show up to the ranbat so it wasn't his that you were playing.

With the setups you could always run one game on all the setups until it gets to top 8 and then you stream that and let the other remaining setups go to the following game so that by the time top 8 for game 1 finishes game 2 top 8 should be good to go. Just repeat that for every game you should be hosting and it could be done fast. This is assuming of course that you go with the game that will take the longest to get done first with the quicker smaller ones being done last. In terms of people being late and all if they are knowingly signing up for a tourny yet they are going to be late you could postpone their match until you can't and just send them into losers or knock them out all together. As for setups (Stop hijacking them when we need them!!!!!!).
