  1. Update: I can't make it.
  2. I'll be there for casuals at least.
  3. Someone in the Sacramento area is looking to sell his arcade cabinets, one of them a Sega Naomi. He's willing to sell them for cheap. http://www.flickr.com/photos/impulsze/sets/72157600405829679/ He's the same person I bought my modded PS2 from, he's a cool guy. speaking of degeso, is that show with the squid girl good?
  4. That's sorta true about Faust. You don't really need any huge combos to win as him.
  5. I finally got to reading the Yu Suzuki interview. Hearing how he and his team had to make a game from scrach including the debugger and hardware is godlike. Plus developers should be given more creative freedom. Honestly, some of the best games ever are either the games no one has played before or the games everyone thought would be failures. Old-school Sega FTW. The fact there's always something to learn in Guilty Gear is why it's my favorite fighting game since I first played it.
  6. I'd just stay safe and prepare to defend and punish accordingly when he's in wolf form. Don't wanna get counter hit by Valk of all people because Ragna can't take a hit well...and I don't know about wolf form specifics yet. Sorry, that's all I can say about that.
  7. true. But Guilty Gear introduced me to Queen, so...
  8. I see no technical skill there sir. Just a buffed up super that killed poor Carl the moment it hit. ...I know it's a joke. (Is it? ) And why put on the op as the Bgm after the Mu/Carl match? It's so horrible, so corny, so generic anime....bs.
  9. If you're talking about the knockdown (most likely), it should be done before the other person has a chance to tech. From Sol Badguy 101 [ver. Accent Core] thread by Spirit Juice-san.
  10. I played against Valk at a session I was at last Saturday (on PS3). The guy usually plays Jin, but he was switching around. I stuck to Rags, just to start learning about the matchup. I didn't have much problems honestly...when I was blocking of course. Not sure what he was using (haven't tried Valk yet), but I was able to block most of Valk's stuff easily. The overhead can kill you though. The main thing is to be aware of him in the air, he doesn't have much so 6A/ID will help. I was better than usual and it's all vague due to it being a long day. I don't know if there are any character-specific combos for Valk. ...We need to talk more about stuff other than combos. ;_;
  11. thanks for hosting, Chris. HnK matches were mad hype. hopefully more people decide to try GG next time. And who's sogos?
  12. Drunken Bomberman? Sounds hella hype. So, about that thread I started at BB gameplay...sucks doesn't it?
  13. Well, I'm glad there is at least discussion on this. I'd thought there would be no positive additions or even get locked because it sounds like a stupid thing to say. I'm not talking about playing ST and applying stuff from there to BB, but it does help some, but the more universal topics of playing fighting games at competitive levels.. I agree it's better to get better at BB by playing more BB. But I don't have anyone to play the game with except the crappy button-reading AI and netplay. I have often lost to the most stupid stuff. It's hard to think actively about the game for some reason. I am in a slump in everything anyway, so I'll just keep thinking even more as I play.
  14. welp....I got the date wrong, my last day's the 17th. Makes more sense, right?
  15. My name is Arvoyea R. Moore, and I support this post. Yep, pretty much. I can feel Finals coming closer. I'm relieved at least it's over soon, been in a shitty mood all semester, will use next semester to start anew and beast in academics like I used to all the time. Alex, you're awesome. Home Movies?
  16. I prefer 5B -> 3C ->5d -> dash cancel->5C into J.C ->J.D->J.C instead of 6A. Dunno why, I just feel awesome doing that, lol. No problem, Legend. Everyone here just wants to help each other get better. Also, I need help practicing hitconfirm and being able to transfer from basic Bnbs to harder combos in matches instead of always going for the kill. Any advice?
  17. Ok, seeing as what happened at Socal Regionals in BB:CS finals, there are some things a lot of us need to be aware of. And that is fighting game fundamentals. In the recent Socal Regionals, Tokido was able to win even with not much BB experience, and won mainly on his mastery of fundamentals and adaptation skills. The fact that the most we're good at is only combos and Blazblue specifics, but lacking in things we should have mastered first is a very scary thing to realize. So, I say: let's try to apply the fundamentals you would learn playing SF or KOF, and apply them to Blazblue's game play system, and also other fighting games with airdashing in them, like Guilty Gear and Melty Blood. Also, if anyone can share methods of practicing fundamentals in order to better one's self, that would be boss.
  18. Why are they in practice mode at Final Round for KOF98UM, Qwerty? http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/103576-Devil-May-Cry-Creator-Misses-Dante
  19. ...You have ragna lock already? I've been looking for it too.

  20. Your avatar....what's the source?

  21. You're saying that as if Arcana Heart is a bad game.... Oh hey, guess what I found lurking SRK. http://shoryuken.com/f315/3s-ssfiv-255740/
  22. I third the motion to have it on Saturday. Would someone like to give me a ride to the place also?
