By people, he means people in Japan.

I'm going to laugh when arcadia releases this exact match up chart. I got money on LK or someone else able to decipher moonrunes taking the numbers from like a jbbs or something, then somebody making a chart and slapping "Team St1ckBuG" in the title for trolling. Just prep yourself to get sad if you came in here in an attempt to discredit this. disclaimer: this pure prediction on my part, so call it ec bias, call it whatever, I gives a fuck when it comes to BB anyway.

Making a good series shitty for the sake of money, essentially? ASW has BB, they made a whole new series to go the watered down path with. Why take an already established series, and strip it of what the fanbase who made it what it is, know and love?

I get the point, but, my point about fighting games is that they are all easy to pick up, hard to master. Whether they are given the SF4 dumb down effect or not. Plenty of characters have an easy bnb in GG that the average, less dedicated, 'casual-competitive' player can perform and feel decent. Same as all ngames prior to SF4. The BB/Sf4 dumb down movement is unnecessary is my main point.
-
Overlooked this before when I was responding to SpiritJake.. The fact of the matter is, it takes a strong drive to get good at any fighting game. Even the dumbed down ones. SF may be as simplified as it gets when you look at its core systems, but, you will never pick up the game and be able to mae it to equal footing with anyone even half decent. It's a fact of fighting games. Fighting games are hard. Not just GG. Bringing down the execution/dexterity level necessary to play won't make it any easier for new players. FRCs are probably among the simpler shit you need to learn to do to be half decent in GG.

TBH the game offers enough to make sales off of the weaboos who see a cool, flashy, anime game and spend their money only to play it 5 times before shelving it. If it were actually marketed in this country, it would have sold as many copies as all those other stupid, redundant JRPGs that do numbers off lawlanimu. In 2000, everyone I knew from personal friends, to kids at school, to random acquaintances who owned a dreamcast owned Marvel 2. Hardcore to casual, if you played had a DC you played Marvel. A good deal of people I know bought the DC specifically FOR Marvel. Do you think even half of them could Sent unfly combos, which are arguably harder than a good deal of the more commonly used FRCs/bnbs in GG? Fuck no. People seem to forget that, though, fighting games have 2 vastly different demographics between the casual player and the competitive player, you can satisfy both with games that have a more "hardcore" learning curve for competitive players. The casual players, are playing other casual players on a level where not being able to FRC/Unfly/1 frame link/"yada yada difficult to perform fighting game task" doesn't matter because neither can your comp. Try to recall the days when you played FGs back in the days before you knew a competitive level existed, it's a completely different game. Devs don't need to dumb shit down to interest the bottom skill level players, because they are going to dumb the game down to their level themselves by default.

Fuck that 5 frame hold shit. Maaaaan up

You really didn't just try to up your credibility by dropping your Smash player bio, did you? inb4 omg lemme name drop lk for the 5th time in the past 2 pages of this thread to tell you he used to play smash, too. on topic: FRCs are fine how they are. Getting the timing down is work, big fucking deal. It helps out a lot IMO, for many fighting games. Before gear, I had really shitty timing. Practicing FRCs in training mode for like 2 weeks until I could do them consistently improved my timing in other fighting games a LOT. There's no harm in having people put in work. Particularly when it is to their benefit.

[AC] GGXX: Accent Core on PC - now (actually) playable online
bbq sauce replied to Teyah's topic in Guilty Gear Online Play
Axl doesn't use many double jump combos. I noticed doing launch in to (stuff)2S 623H the 623H black beat almost every time, though. That's not even net play either, that was just single player emulator play. isad -
Incredible posts. To set the record straight. I joked about it, but, I didn't actually do it. Damon's the only one (to my knowledge) who rubbd out a load in the shower.

Considering Zidane plays on a pad, they'd probably just make out.

It's funny because the FRCs I do off muscle memory I get liek 1/5 tries on the emulated ver. but the one I do off visual cue, is the one I can do perfectly. -

Is that not what makes a move a good fatal counter(what this thread is about) opposed to a good move in general, with a fatal counter property(not what this thread is)?

Hotenjin is 6f and invul in startup, totally not a reversal, you're right sorry. And talking about IB into Hotenjin is what makes it so strong, isn't a reversal situation, you're right again. ANYWAY When I think of a question like, what is the best FC, I think of like, something safely hitconfirmable, that benefits hugely from landing as FC opposed to regular hit. Like Zidane said, most of what you can do with hotenjin FC, can be done with naked hotenjin that hits normally. Using to interrupt strings via IB>super, and scare them into cutting their strings short out of fear for it, is what make it a good reversal, not what makes it a good FC. Something like Ragna's 2C that changes a 4K combo to 5k meterless combo, allows for anywhere from like ~6-9k depending on his meter, makes for GOOD FC, because there's a huge difference in hit and counter hit, AND it's positive on block so you get to keep pressure if it doesn't hit.
-
TBH, everyone's reasoning for jayoku being the best FC, is more like what the reasoning should be for calling it the best reversal..
-
^Yeah, basically. Just test it out. If are playing somebody that's good at blocking overheads, try it on them, if say they block Noel's 6B in a block string 4/5 times, try the reset. If they are still blocking it on reaction, it probably isn't that good of an idea. But, Noel's mix up isn't that strong and she needs gimmicks, so I'd say save it for a rainy day and just throw it out there if that 1k-2k damage will make a big difference in the round.
