  1. Dunno. Just throwing it out there. On another note, perhaps Solaria is a dizzy clone, or maybe she is a clone of justice. That would allow her to be the command gear in the description, as well as have a tail and such. Dunno about the ribbons, but surely Dizzy can't be the only person who wears ribbons in the world. :/ Eh. I'm not really arguing against it, I'm wouldn't really doubt she's Dizzy, just wanna make sure we have all the bases covered. If its true, I hope its not canon - Dizzy X Ky? Please.
  2. Wait, wait. I don't deny that the connection seems pretty damn close, and ribbon and tail almost have me swayed, but I was reading up on the plot, and I found: In Lightning the Argent, it is revealed that Dizzy is not the only self-aware Gear; there is a full-blooded Gear named Solaria, created by the Blackard Company for the purposes of taking control of Gears and using them as weapons. However Solaria was rescued from the Company and she is currently living freely under the auspices of the International Police (via Ky Kiske) Also, in GGX Plus, one of Dizzy's endings had a slew of clones of her being made in a lab. Maybe this "Dizzy" isn't the real Dizzy? Or like above, its Solaria? Not trying to piss anyone off here, but just putting out some conjecture I was thinking of... Also, admittedly my personal opinion about the storyline in overture is less than favorable (I don't really care one way or another about the game itself) and if there's people like me that also don't like it, there's always the chance its like the drama CD's and represents a timeline that occurs outside the game continuum, so we can just ignore it for the most part.
  3. Nope, you've been quite helpful thanks. No Dry Summons, air throw for defense, IAD Ice Spike combo (preferably after lust shaker), guess I need to FD for the 6HS. Got it. EDIT: Took this from the Millia Guide in that respective forum: Millia's 6H is a slow, vulnerable attack that causes knockdown if it hits an opponent. The primary use of this move is as an aircombo ender, linked after a connected j.214S. The only useful gatling to 6H is 6P-6H, which combos and knocks down only if it 6P is a Counter Hit. On block, this gatling is usually safe due to the amount of pushback generated by a blocked 6H, though it can be punished if the enemy IBs. Note that the recovery of 6H is very bad, so every time it connects you should cancel to Roll to close the distance + cut recovery. On a connected 6H in the corner, if you are deep enough then you can also cancel directly to H Disc, which allows for more meaty mixups.
  4. Okay, I'm mad. My friend used Millia today and broke my streak with Dizzy. I admit part of the problem is I still haven't gotten used to using FD in the air yet, but that normal where she just smacks her hair down is annoying as hell (2D or SH, not sure?) And that super where she spins out three discs is bothersome; she can like hit confirm that from a k or something. I also have trouble is she gets that green disc out while I'm in the corner. Tips, please?

  6. Last thing - what's the Japanese match-up ratio on this fight? 6 -4? Anyone know?
  7. Alrighty on the strats; good shit. Other than 2k, though does Dizzy have any other normals on the ground that are useful against Sol? What about the air? Thanks for the verification on the FD for VV. I knew I was blocking when that thing came up, I was beginning to think I was crazy...
  8. One thing about VV - is it normal air guardable? Because I know I'm holding back when it hits me in the air....do I have to waste my precious tension on FD to block that shit?
  9. Oh my gosh, I'm having trouble with this match up. Its worst than Chip IMO, because Sol just won't fucking die fast enough. I'm having trouble with 2p, VV, 6H (A scrubs best friend), tick throws, j.S, j.H, gunflame and Riot Stomp. His pressure seems nearly endless, and if I make a wrong move, bait incorrectly, I get hit with the damn VV. Not mention mashers love to use it to get out of my oki pressure. And those combos do so much damage.... Thoughts?
  10. I have my old television from 2001. The only thing it has in the back is input for cable.
  11. I use the one-touch capture device you mentioned. Its USB based, comes with both installation and movie editing program, cheap (forty bucks as opposed to dazzles ninety and up) has good quality (I haven't even fiddled with the video settings yet). Also supports S-Cable and regular video input. You can see my youtube account in my sig for examples. The downside would be that, like many other capture devices, you would have to feed the console hookup directly into the device to capture stuff, meaning you wouldn't able to play on your television and record on the comp. at the same time unless you split the signal, restricting me to games that allow you to save replay data. But a distribution device and y-splitters are only costing me around 20 bucks over at Amazon, so it is not too bad.
  12. "Vapor Thrust"? Sounds awesome - I'm guessing Undine would be the one who executes that move? Give Necro's Anger more damage? But why?
  13. Hmm, that's sounds reasonable. I've been playing for about a month; I guess my skill level reflects that. EDIT: Nehle, get back to me dammit, tell me which bubble loops you like to use. I must know:keke:
  14. No need to block that much if you're good at reversing/escaping pressure. Best defense is a good offense as they say. BTW, how long have you been playing? I'd like to get a general idea of how long it takes for people to get good at this game.
  15. If you guys are complete opposites, I would say I'm somewhere in the middle as far as gameplay style is concerned. Great, solid gameplay from your dizzy. One thing that stands out to me is your ability to hitconfirm your air combos easily. Getting that downpat would elevate my game.

    AC: Combos

I think he means 6+HS, that command normal that takes 18 frames and makes dizzy's tail turn into a large, red beast that stuns on the first hit and launches on the second.

    AC: Combos

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing - using Dust after you conditioned your opponent to block low after blockstring or oki pressure - its fine for experienced players that actually have a brain, but for people that mash constantly, I'm liable to get hit. Hmm, I'm liking the sound of that one. To be honest, though I thought everyone would say something along the lines of the bubble loop using 6+HS and the homing pike - that's the one I've been using recently. Bizzaro also noted its great as a meaty during oki and blockstrings and seeing as I have mash-happy people on wake-up at my college I think it works rather well. I'm going to give that corner one a try, though. I'm really interested in the set-ups that Nehle listed later in his combo thread that are more difficult to set up and execute - those seem to be the mark of a good Dizzy player.

    AC: Combos

I appreciate the 'ruler' advice, but that's honestly too much for me to think about when I'm in the middle of a match. For me, its easiest to learn by muscle memory, and as of late I seem to have got it pretty much down pat. The main problem is getting the dust off in the first place. Okay, cool. I always take things literally, so when I see someone make a combo vid where its executed in the corner I have to wonder if it's able to be done mid-screen or not Also, I guess no one saw this in my previous post, so I'll post it again: BTW, what is the most common bubble loop set-up you employ that does decent damage and able to be set up semi regularly? I ask this with the oki flowcharts listed in this thread http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2887 in mind.

    AC: Combos

I notice you did it in the corner. It is only untechable in the corner? Can't I do the dust combo midscreen? BTW, the video represents what I have been doing recently - sometimes I mess up because I do j.D to quickly or slowly but like I said its not really a problem, just wondering if it was untechable at any point.

    AC: Combos

Working with Ky in practice the other day. I launched with Dust, followed with the j.D, I think before the screen turned blue. I let go of the bubble and Ky was already falling before I could hit him/pop the bubble.

    AC: Combos

Well, it will fall into muscle memory soon enough, but my real problem with the j.D is that if done too soon, then the character falls below my bubble after its pulled out and the j.HS whiffs, they recover, etc. BTW, what is the most common bubble loop set-up you employ that does decent damage and able to be set up semi regularly? I ask this with the oki flowcharts listed in this thread http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2887 in mind.

    AC: Combos

I need some help on making my (dust) combos untechable. At specific points when I actually get out a dust, I do the j.D, cancel on the 2nd hit, and summon the k bubble, as I prepare to hit both the opponent and the bubble, my friend is somehow able to tech out. Also he recovers after I've popped the bubble and prepare to re-jump and do the AC from the bubble stun. Am I not executing it correctly, or is the combo fully techable? Need some help, here. BTW, the way the combo I'm refering to is: D /\ FD j.D (2 hit) 214K j.H |> j.K j.S jc.S j.D (165) Also, need a reply for the anti-air combos starting with CH cr.S, are they garanteed as well?
  23. Yeah, that's been my problem with IADing 2S, not pulling it off early enough. I also am sometimes inconsistent with pulling of IAD ~ bubble, and then sometimes I can't pop it fast enough.
  24. So there's a time limit to Roah summon....thank goodness. Still 15 seconds is a long time in a fighting game. I'd rather rush down instead.
  25. Ah, I see. Still, I think the best overall option for us Dizzy players is mastering the Ice Spike FRC. This gives so many options its ridiculous. I still think the A.B.A. player had some very flawed rushdown, and was quite linear.
