Thank a bunch, guys.

Well. well. First Elven says he spilled everything in his blog, but apparently he deleted everything by the time most of people got there. Then powerincarnate provides SRK links that are either dead or somehow protected from simple users like myself. What's with this conspiracy, guys? I can totally understand Mike, it's between him and Pachi, but what's with that SRK thread?

Ouch, I should read more carefully. 2007, not 2009. I should have those backed up. I'll check it later today.
-
Goldenrody Are you sure about the date? I have 21 acho file from 20090920, which are singles from some big tourney - are those ones you need?

While I'm dead sure no one from you guys will bother to attend (it's an extremely short notice this year and one should be afraid of Russian weather this summer =)), I still can use this thread to post results later, right? =) Moscow Fighting Arena is Russian annual fighting championship since 2004. Moscow Fighting Arena 2010 (MFA10) will take place in Moscow (duh) on August 28th-29th. The venue is the same as last two years - biggest Moscow electronics mall 'Gorbushkin Dvor'. Event schedule (possibly a subject to small changes): Saturday, August 28th: 11-00 - MFA is open, registration starts (*) 12-00 - Tekken 6 3v3 (PAL PS3) 14-00 - Guitar Hero 5 1v1 (PAL PS3) 16-00 - Tekken 6 1v1 (PAL PS3), Super Street Fighter IV 3v3 (PAL PS3) 18-00 - Virtua FIghter 5 1v1 (PAL PS3) (**) 20-00 - day one awards ceremony Sunday, August 29th: 11-00 - registration starts (*) 12-00 - Guilty Gear XX Accent Core 3v3 (US NTSC PS2) 14-00 - Final Fantasy Dissidia 1v1 (PAL PSP) 16-00 - SoulCalibur IV 3v3 (PAL PS3), Blaz Blue Continuum Shift 1v1 (?? PS3) (**) 20-00 - day two awards ceremony, MFA officially over. Monday, August 30th 10-00 - 22-00 - Guilty Gear afterparty at the cottage near Moscow (***), featuring GG 1v1 tourney, challenges to SBO2010-qualified Russian team (Goga, RoBoBOBR, OverKilL.), moneymatches and tons of fun. (*) - This is when registration starts. registration for each tourney is closed 15 minutes prior tourney start. (**) - VF5 and BB and other minor tourneys will be run if there'll be at least 16 attendants. (***) - Due to possible venue issues and weather forecasts, there is a possibility that afterparty will be cancelled and the GG 1v1 tourney will be moved to Sunday. This will be announced no later then August 18th. Venue and expected attendance: The venue is a big mall; it opens on 10-00 and closes on 21-00. It is not possibly to sleep at venue (but you can be dead sure that there will be persons glad to host you at their place and we will gladly help you with the hotel booking should you need one - hosting is really not a problem). Last year there were about 300 people attending MFA. This year I _expect_ turnouts like this: T6 - 80-90 players, GG - 50-70 players, SSF - 30-50 players, SC 30-40 players. We'll have about 16 TVs (which will be lagless CRT) at the main venue. 4-8 of them will be freeplay-dedicated. Registration fees and prizes Most players will pay 200rur per tourney (~5 euros). But for all players from outside of the ex-USSR registration for all events is free. 2\3 of fees go directly to prize pot. Top4 of each tourney get a cool diploma (one per person). Top3 for each 3v3 tourney gets an awesome cup (one per team). There is a possibility that there will be additional prizes from out partners. TBA. Please don't hesitate to ask any question and ask for support should you decide to attend =) You can use this thread or thread at our forums or mail me at biologin001 [at] gmail.com Cheers Fighting.ru

European SBO'10 qualifiers - at Stunfest

Neithan We have a nice thread for such bugs somewhere here: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4533 Missing jump install is not reported here (and I don't find it over Johnny forums as well), but missing gatlings are. They are missing in GGXXAC US+ only. Well, that's why we use regular GGXXAC US here at Russia =) I was kinda surprised when Shinjin opted to choose US Plus version, non-plus seems more 'arcade perfect' to me, but again, those Zappa and Robo gatlings are really minor and are rarely used, so doesn't make any difference to any Robo or Zappa player I know of. We don't want to have arcade-perfect just for the sake of arcade perfectness, right (mind the arcade lags of Dark Angel)? And yes, maybe Johnny's bugs are different story, but why they aren't mentioned anywhere? -
European SBO'10 qualifiers - at Stunfest

Well, guys, good luck communicating. I hope you guys will get along and find a solution to have quals at Showdown - I'm rallying a nice bunch of 11 Russian players to Sweden event, and this means we will have 2-2.5 teams for SBO quals should they happen at Sweden =) I think we hardly will get anyone to Stunfest - all money issues aside, to get to Stunfest we would have to start applying for French visas next week, and this is next to impossible - not only there is no info on the event, but also some players have their passports in Finnish\Sweden embassy for Showdown visa. As for "arcade perfect" version, I hardly have any first-hand experience with arcade version, but from what I know I'd like to mention that this issue was already raised at Sweden forums and it seems like French players were able to come to a nice conclusion with orgs (hooray for communicating again). Also, as far as I know, these "timing differences on certain combos" are hardly confirmed at all and are really minor, so unless someone wants an arcade perfect just for the sake of having an arcade perfect, there should be no trouble playing console version if warned beforehand. So, unless someone misses slowdowns from Venom's Dark Angel =), differences between console US versions and arcade versions are not confirmed and are minor. Cheers -
Thanks, rtl42!

@Neithan Cool, man. Thanks for your input. I see your points, and most of them are pretty valid. I admit I kinda overreacted (well, I admitted that much in the very first post =)), and since you agree there was some definite lack of communication, we have nothing to argue about. I do hope this lack of communication will be fixed soon. Forgive me, but my answer is "lol what"? I don't really know why did you switched to this mode. I have totally nothing against French guys (or girls =) in general; nor against any other country's guys or girls, I never said anything against French people in general, and French team I met at Showdown 2009 were completely cool guys, I'd enjoy meeting them again. I never 'banned' or 'flamed' based on region or country or religion or whichever, on these forums or anywhere else. So I totally miss your point here. This is a good question, and I may or may not have an answer to it. But - again - how is it connected to this very topic? You just keep asking some random questions or what? [offtopic]But in case you're asking - well, over last 4 years Russian fighters has been attending tournaments at Finland, Sweden, France and Poland; meanwhile, the only guys who ever attended Russian tourneys (we have a great annual MFA event we run for 6 years already) were Finnish guys in 2008. We welcome every foreign person to our tourneys; we help them with hosting and we make the participation totally free for them; we used to have some decent cash prizes (up to $2k per game in 2008); we always announce this event as broad as we can - you may check this very forums or your console-league forums or many others; and yet, nobody comes =) I guess I have as much reasons to say 'we always travel, but nobody comes to us' as you do =)[/offtopic] -
European SBO'10 qualifiers - at Stunfest

Okay, I glad that at least I was able to get some reaction with this thread. Time to talk some sense now. @Camo With all my respect, this is cool, but I don't see how's that related to European quals... and 'like every year' part kinda bothers me... did you guys really had 3 teams entered SBO quals last year? @Madjid First things first - can we here get some formal introduction please? I personally know that you are somehow (but how exactly?) "related" to running Stunfest, because I think Shinjin mentioned that once and now Neithan mentioned that as well. However, most of people around have totally no idea - WHO is running the Stunfest? Who is responsible for SBO quals in Europe? Who should they contact for details? Maybe French players know about that but most of other players don't. I've invested a certain amount of time of reading French forums with google translate, and even after that I don't know if you're the person in charge of Stunfest or not. So could you please explain if you are speaking officially on behalf of Stunfest staff or not? Again, my 'hate' wasn't directed at _you_ - a while ago I didn't have a slightest clue on who is running Stunfest, who is taking decisions about SBO quals, etc. I was pissed about total lack of information. RoBoBOBR got it totally right, it worths quoting again: I wouldn't have accused French guys about doing this intentionally, though. All players from France I know are totally cool guys and I don't believe that they would have never hid the info intentionally. I think this is "just" an oversight from orgs. Yeah, "good" idea - to give people even less time to prepare for the event. Great. Come on, you've now explained why SBO quals are at Stunfest, and arguments about Arcade machine make sense (if this is a requirement by Japanese orgs). Just please finally give us an announcement of your event, so those who still can possibly attend would be able to try. Again, I'm not talking against French quals here. I'm talking against poorly organized quals - and how can one expect good organization if orgs don't even care to announce the thing properly? Showdown 2009 had it's technical issues (and I don't try to say that Russian tourneys don't have any =)), but at least we knew about it like 4 months before the event and it was properly announced 2 months before the event, and Sweden guys we totally cool and posted a nice guide on getting there and answered all our stupid questions etc etc. We had time to prepare and to choose if we want to attend. Hey, I'll remember you that =) We didn't really got along with you guys last time due to some misunderstandings and bad schedule on our part (we totally missed Sunday party), but we're about to change that on Showdown 2010 =) Yep, that's very true, and my 'WE' was a little stretched (although for a tourney of 12 people 9% foreign attendance is not bad, right? :P). But still, he was there, and being one of the strongest players in Europe (I guess I can say that much after he got his performance at Showdown 2009 and at Cannes 2009) he is kinda the must-have candidate for our team for SBO quals. As I already said above, I don't hold anything against quals at France (now with the reasons explained). But again: a) I'm strongly against current lack of information. Not only information for players, but it also sounds they didn't communicated too well with other orgs - why start talking about possibility of running SBO quals at Sweden (if they met certain requirements) now, if they already talked with Shinjin for quite a while (as far as I know)? b) I'm generally against two major international tourneys with dates close to each other and in the same country (WGC and Stunfest). It is really inconvenient to players from other countries, especially when it comes to communities as small as European GG community. How about a big NO? This is simply not the way international tourneys work. Not to mention the fact that it is kinda hard to travel to the tourney you don't even know about =) But it is the responsibility of orgs to communicate about their event. You don't announce the event => you don't get players. And not vise versa. -
Okay, people, get ready for some flame. Lately I've been pointed out that Stunfest event (France, Rennes, May 22-23) has added GGXXAC SBO qualifiers to the list of events on their site: http://stunfest.3hitcombo.fr/ I'm shocked by the fact that there is NO fucking info about this! Anywhere save French forum. Period. Who will attend "European quals" if you don't care about announcing it?! Lesse: Germany: no info from orgs, a thread made by local players. Finland: no info at all. Sweden: no info at all. Russia: no info from orgs, a thread made by local players. Italy: no info at all. Slovenia: no info at all. Spain: no info at all. and so on. Why do guys run this event at all - to have 4 teams (best-case) of French players there (no disrespect to French players, who are totally cool and skilled guys, but come on, this is European quals after all)? You have less then 2 months left, and you don't even bother to come up with an English announcement on you forums? That's some disrespect, mate. Not only this, but the time and place are all extremely INCONVENIENT for GG players. WE already attended French tourney this spring (Cannes), we are going to attend Showdown at Sweden, and you really think many players will be able to attend three foreign events during one spring? Again, some probably could, but given time to cancel a trip to Showdown or cut the expenses somehow. You don't even give a announcement, how could they plan anything? I know that Showdown orgs had discussed this with you - can you please give any reasons for NOT running GG quals at Sweden, where most interested players will be? I guess I could have wrote all this calmer and better, and\or I could have done this private. And maybe you have some solid reasons behind your actions. But you don't care to explain anything, right? I'm really pissed with the fact that SBO representative in Europe doesn't care about European players. At all. Not only you screw us this year, but you'll get a 2 teams quals (you used to have 1-team quals two years ago, right?), and next year we as well may get no quals at all. Now thank you for a wonderful job, guys.
