[CS2] Platinum the Trinity Actual Discussion Thread The First
HeartNana replied to Circuitous's topic in Archive
IMO her animations look a lot like ABA's, the way she swings her staff around. Obviously the characters are nothing alike, but thats what it looked like to me at least. =P -
Not picking on you, thats just the general concensus for anyone making assumptions too quickly now. I also highly highly doubt that Noel will be worse off than she was in CS. On system changes ALONE (as in, lots of char lose good midscreen damage off of easy pokes), it should be, in theory, easier to win...

I said it last time, I'm gonna say it again. Wait until we know all the details before bitching, please.

[CS2] Platinum the Trinity Actual Discussion Thread The First
HeartNana replied to Circuitous's topic in Archive
I've got a legit question. I did a search on the forum and checked the first few posts of each sticky thread (I may have missed i though) but when is she getting released as DLC? I don't check these forums, nor have I played my console BBCS in a while, and I don't plan on powering it on until she's available. Does anyone have a date, or is it still not confirmed, or what? Thanks. -

IMO, from watching her, she looks more like ABA in some of her animations, but also kinda like May. Anyways, A lot of people were trying throw combos, and her forward/backwards throw look the same, a big giant bell comes and hits the opp either way, wallbouncing. In the corner, people did simple combos and got around 3200 damage or so, so not too shabby for a throw, especially for what looked like a simple combo. However, it has to be in the corner... -
I think once people figure out exactly what every character can do, she might not be as bad off as she was before.
-
Went to the loctest yesterday. You guys already know the changes, but on the bright side, at least most of the other character i noticed (cept like, Arakune) got their combo damage cut way down. I saw arakune do a gimpy curse combo and still get 5.5K while everyone else is struggling to do 3.5K. Also on the bright side, magical lolis lol...

I dunno, getting hit by less dumb random attacks from litchi/bang into death seems more fun to me.
-
It's not something to throw out every round, but i wouldn't really call it "useless" If you do the j.D drive cancel thing as you're landing, it's actually a way better/faster overhead than 6B...
-
It's exactly as Kuma said. Range on 22B lowered and it looks like "stiffness" (or maybe lack of time you're allowed to buffer?) is increased. They did post that it's nothing to worry about. And yeah, the 5D nerf is listed as a buff, and that's probably a mistake imo.
-
Dragontamer - Yeah, post the JP and I'll give it a shot.

I dunno, some days I was able to get the timing pretty well, then randomly I would lose it. Playing on a non-laggy Tv, a non laggy TV online, a laggy TV at my friends place, and a laggy TV at my friend's place online gives 4 different timings to something thats, imo, somewhat strict timing. That could have been what messed me up. Or it could just be excuses and me not practicing enough. I hate sitting in training mode, so thats also an issue. I'm actually glad it's not in the game anymore because now I don't have to worry about failing at it, haha. And I suck at BBCS, so you might be better than me in it, i dunno, lol. And yeah getting thrown out of 2D by tager is dumb, lol.

word, I was overreacting, I'll admit it.

Good post. I agree on all points.

No, I'm well aware that regardless of character, win is a win, and loss is a loss. I actually enjoyed the old blazblue because I was able to beat top tiers with a mid tier. But to have the best oki in the game toned down called "being pwned" is just straight up silly, imo. As I said, your opponent had a better strategy if you lost with a low tier because they were smarter than you at the character select screen. And yeah, in tourney and casuals and stuff, you should have good sportsmanship because you know what youre getting yourself into. You know that the second you sit down to play someone, that theres a chance theyll pick the best character. But for a good Tager player to lose to an equally skilled bang, you really think the Tager player is thinking "i lost because of my mistakes or a strength of my opponent that i failed to compensate for"? I think its more like "oh well, thats what happens" I mean, Litchi does take skill to use, I can't use the character worth a damn. And I don't hate the fact that she's top tier, nor do I care that anyone even uses her because of it, but it's the ignorance that I don't approve of. It's specific parts of the character that take very little skill to win with in this iteration. The dumbest thing she has is her wakeup, because that's why its "one combo into death" with her. So for him to point out one of the main reasons why a completely mid tier character in the last iteration is now #1, and say that it's getting "owned", with the indication that they don't understand why thats happening (unless I'm reading the usage of the psyduck smiley wrong, in which case, it could just be a redundant statement, as in "Litchi's oki game is no longer going to be as strong as it is now") doesn't seem right.
-
You do realize that your character's oki game is a big reason you're winning, not your own skill, right? If my character could just toss out a super at the end of a combo and get 4-5 chances to do either low or overheads while the opponent is sitting there forced to block, I would be winning a lot more, too. And no, it wouldn't be attributed to my own skill, either, except the skill involved with picking the right character at the select screen. Thank god your characters oki game got "owned" (as in, back to the level, and probably still better than most current character's oki game) because it was some of the most retarded shit to pop up in any of the fighting games I've ever played.

Well I guess I'm just not as awesome as you at games. Thanks for the amazing insight. You're truly a super amazing awesome player! It must be because you play MvC2 and GG also, that games like BB are just so easy and come so naturally to you! Am i doing it right?

I use j.4D when I'm trolling my opponent. Sometimes it actually hits and im like ".........lol" nah but seriously, if you try to use it like a more risky j.D, you can actually sometimes get a hit with it, but it's generally just not worth it, haha.
-
Also, I wouldn't feel like everything you did in CS was wasted if they change some combos, because you got more of a feel of how the character moves and how far each move goes, what sort of thing is best suited for that situation etc, which is generally far harder to get used to than just a few combos. Sure some of that stuff might be changed too, but if you're good enough, you should be able to adjust without too much issue if you've been playing the character for 2 games now. Anyone can learn a combo, but not everyone can get in the situation where they utilize the combo. The time spent playing matches was more than just combo practice to many of you, I hope...

I want to play Plat, too, but I'll obviously use my best character as my main, which will probably continue to be Noel. Chiizu - I like haida loop too, but a month isn't THAT long. I spent that long learning Makoto's parry loop just for it to be taken out. And again, it's not like it's gone, we just know 2 small sentences. It might still be there, but made shorter. If it means you get 1 or 2 less reps, not a huge deal since the damage difference is only a few hundred points anyways (please correct me if I'm wrong here). We don't know anything yet, so speculation is really just that...speculation. Dragontamer - Yeah, I'll even admit I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference in 5D unless it's obvious to the point that it never goes through anything... However, since I'm a 2D masher, I notice all differences to 2D immediately, hahaha. Hazel - Yeah, i think we already survived the worst. If you've come this far, why not just go all the way, right? DC - Yeah, that screenshot with the giant cat missle won me over, haha.

The game has been out for a year in arcades. Spending 1 month learning combos isn't even that long and not worth getting mad about. I spent a month learning Makoto's parry loop just for them to take it out. I'm not crying about it either. I just recently learned some more advanced Noel combos, and those might be taken out/nerfed too. It's not that big of a deal. And no, not all Americans are tierwhores, I never said that. I just told the tierwhores to cry moar. I don't care that anyone used Litchi or why they started using her, I just think it's funny when they threaten to switch characters just based off some changes at the first loc test (which doesn't always mean a lot), from a report from someone whose translating from a Japanese blog with absolutely no video footage. Overreact much? And good job playing Anji and CT Litchi. As I said, I don't care about your reason for starting the character. But saying that you'll quit if she's garbage tier at the very sign of any nerfs is funny. My character, arguably 3rd worst in the game, looks like she has more nerfs than buffs at this point, but none of the Noel players are worrying about it cause we all realize it's just a loctest and not to overreact. Most of us also went through a heavy nerf already and dealt with it, so good luck saying "you don't know what its like to get a character nerfed" Also, you're saying if they wait a year after they released BBCS to give the patch, that would be better? Are you actually complaining that they're updating the game and possibly making it better? Sure it might be a bit at the expense of your character, but you really want to continue to be behind Japan by 8 months again? Shouldn't you be happy at the possibility of being able to play the new version on console at the same time as arcades (is this even confirmed?) Well, I know what it's like to see your character eat the nerf stick, and not just in BB, but in other games, too. However, they ARE considering the fans. There's 15+ characters in the game. I'm pretty sure people who play the other 14 aren't too happy with Litchi's standing right now. Making her balanced actually caters to the fans as a whole. Were you happy when Nu got nerfed into Lambda? Of course. Does she have to be played differently? Of course, cause swords arent as strong. Some things are similar but others are very different. Considering we know close to no information right now, have no vids, and no firsthand reports, I honestly think that the complaints aren't warranted (tho this goes to any character) but when it's the top character getting nerfed to maybe mid/low mid at the WORST in a game where everyone is getting nerfed, i think it's less warranted. And also, are you really saying that every single defining element and strength of litchi is being done away with? And that she has to be played like a different character? God forbid you have to change around how you play a character for a sequel. The thing is, your character isn't the only one that has to be played differently. Every character has to be played at least a bit differently. Also, I'm sure nobody complained when you had to play CS litchi different from CT litchi, with new combos and stuff (because CS litchi has way more tools). Why is it all of the sudden so bad? Try to look at it from a neutral standpoint, not from one character standpoint, please. I just think it's funny that some people so pissed off about changes that, after good players analyzed it and thought about it, were found to be pretty fair. A lot of Litchis are looking forward to a more fair litchi. If fair means she loses her "defining elements", then so be it. I'd rather have a fair game than a game where litchi has her "defining elements" but remains far too good. Your post was at least worded well, even if I disagree with some of the content, so I tried to give you a serious, not trolling response.

A) this is one loctest b) we don't even know if these are all the changes c) we don't even know if the person posting the changes even plays noel d) we barely even know what the changes mean (as there are no vids) read what we posted above, its way too early, calm down.

Yeah I'm in Japan. If a loctest comes to the kansai area, I'll be there and of course I'll do a writeup here. I also don't even use the Haida loop much except against like, Tager and bang. I much prefer easy combos like 3C 22C 6C 5D 2D 623D dash 6C j.D 6D6B5C 236D for like, 4250 damage, lol. And it's not like it's getting removed, its prolly just more situational. I can land corner throw 22BC dash 6C 4D 236D 6D 22B 22C on like, every character, and it's very easy. Things like that will most likely stay the same, but things like midscreen 3C 22BC dash 6C 22BC etc will prolly be changed at least a little. We don't know the extent or anything yet. It's also like when people say "6C throw whiff 6C doesn't work anymore" yet theres still a few situations where it works. My only hope is that they give her unlimited Noel's j.214C, but without the the bounce happening only on CH or something. I would love that.
