IAD = Instant Air Dash FRC = False Roman Cancel J.C = Jump Cancel It would do you good to just read this.
-
Counter Assault is the term for it, IIRC.

I know I can't. 3C can go under 5B but you more or less have to anticipate that the Ragna is going to go for the 5B for it to work, and that is of course risky considering how punishable 3C is (unless you have meter to save yourself). If you can 3C Ragna's 5B on reaction then you are pretty fucking GDLK. Ranga vs Noel is pretty aggravating. Then again, Noel vs anyone with a DP is aggravating.

Either rapid canceling Spring Raid, or comboing into her ground Distortion after 66C > 2C if the 66C hits my opponent and they aren't in crouch.

This match isn't that bad for Noel IMO. It's pretty much a game of cat and mouse until you get cursed. Then it becomes a game of BEEEEEEEEEZ.

Uh, there was no Tao in top 8. kakutoubishinTaokaka played v-13 not Tao. Anyway, I'm with Buckle on being bummed about the BB results @ SBO. I was more hyped about the SFIV and GGXXAC results.

Well, at least a Nu didn't win the whole thing. That's the most positive thing I can really say at this point...:8/:

Stop air teching

... Is this thread really just on countering Noel's Drive? That isn't the main source to her offense and the least you need to worry about considering drive spam can be handled by a simple throw. I came here to read what Tao has for an answer to Noel's pressure game ie her 5A x n > dash 5A x n or her 6C > 2C > 66C > 2C. My friend swears up and down he can't beat Noel with Tao and would much rather fight Arakune or Nu . Tao's weak guard libra makes it pretty easy for Noel to guard crush her if she's keep pressure going and considering Noel's hitbox, some of Tao's combos become useless (unless the timing is just different). What are Tao's defensive options in terms of handling Noel's pressure game and mix-ups? EDIT: Barrier Block only does so much and if Tao bursts, forget about it.

It looks mashy because it looks similar to KH (but plays infinitely better than KH). However, considering it's a VS game, if you expect to actually WIN any matches, you won't be mashing. It's a fun game. I had the JPN version of it and enjoyed it a lot.

I played a ton of matches with a friend who came to visit last weekend. His Bang was pretty beast. We had some pretty epic matches (comebacks all around). I really wish we had a means of recording them when we played (damn BlazBlue for not allowing offline replays). Anyway, from what I had chatted with him about during our matches, a lot of Noel's pokes pretty much shit on Bang's. It seems Bang has to play hit and run vs Noel so you're going to have to catch him because he won't make an attempt at offense until you fuck up or leave yourself open. Air to air Noel has more priority than Bang it seems. At least that's how it seemed to be when we played. When my friend and I first played each other I was dominating him the first few matches because he tried to fight me head to head. It wasn't until he started running and spacing himself that he started getting wins. I find myself using air grab a lot during this match myself. Also, the 6C - 2C - 66C - 2C block string is useful. My friend didn't know what to do against it, but I know it isn't safe considering you can IB it so don't abuse it. Be careful of Bang's air command grab tech trap. I was told that if you tech forward or backward it will catch, but if you tech neutral it won't. Bang can also bait bursts pretty well with his D commands during some of his combos. I've lost count of how many times my burst had been baited while I was eating a combo, only to eat ANOTHER combo that would just finish me off. Lastly, pay attention to Bang's nail count. Once he's out a nails, his means of approaching you is really limited.

Air throw is your friend in this match up. Would it be a sin if I said this match up was actually pretty fun to me? You just need patience (when cursed). Playing SFIV paid off after all... Ashame I can't capitalize on air throw with the maximum amount of damage possible yet. I need to practice it. To the lab.

From my understanding; RGB = for web CMYK = for print So I assumed CMYK would be best if I planned to get it printed. If the image isn't showing, try this one -> http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/3079/abatetemplate.jpg I added a bit more to it to make it feel more complete to me. Is this who I think it is? Dan?

Decided that I'm going to mod my TE tad bit. I'm going to change the artwork and get different colored buttons to match. I threw together this template yesterday after finding this awesome art piece: I always <3'd ABA (played her in GGXX^C) and that artwork looked too awesome not to use. I'm going to get plexi glass to protect the artwork as well as get black, red, and yellow sanwa buttons with a yellow ball top for it all the match. Price is coming to $60 altogether for the mod. Keep in mind, those colors are a bit skewed since the photoshop file is in CMYK and not RGB (since I plan to get it printed).

<3 Kaede. I need to play this game more often. I got a few casuals in with friends today and realized I don't use half of the moves Kaede has half the time. I normally just do 2A x n into her rekkas or super. I was having a tough time until I remembered she has other moves. Her 214 A/C is pretty good for zoning and her B pokes seem really good (6B cross-up = lulz). Also made it a point to use my assists more as well. Moment I started using her entire movelist my friends claimed they didn't know how to beat her. I lol'd.

Saw Noel in the very first trailer ArcSys released for the game way back and took a liking to her almost instantly. My opinion on her altered as time passed but when the game came out and I finally played her, I fell in love with her playstyle so I stuck with her. I second Haku-men because he's just outright bad-ass.

Optic Blast > Optic Barrel BEHOLD! I seriously need to tighten my execution because my fuck ups VS Tager are really killing me. :[
-
W.O.W What is the ratio for this match up anyway? I, too, have problems with Tager. However, I assume that's simply because I really don't know how to go about the fight. My execution is far from top tier so if I fuck up, I'm screwed.

From what I can tell from messing around in training, that's precisely how you do it. I need to practice this.
