D: Well, just be sure you play him for the right reasons if you decide to main him. It's like when I went from Viper -> Sagat in SFIV. I had a 12.5% win rate with Viper after 1200 matches. Then on a salty whim, I switched to Sagat and suddenly I'm winning 80% of my matches just because of his dmg output and how easy it is to land it. On the other hand, Viper still remains more "my style" than Sagat. Just saying that if you want to play Slayer, then you should take him because you're defence/mistake punishing/power character oriented, and not because of his insane dmg output. Otherwise, you might be disappointed come +R.

Shoutouts to pocket Slayers being better than my Slayer.

Ostie que le temps ya passé vite. So I get in, it's 6:30 or so, right? Beer #1 on an empty stomach, it's 7:00. Couple games of BB, lots more GG. Beer #2 + dinner, I'm really starting to feel that beer. Even more GG at the same time. Bathroom explodes for some reason. I look at my watch, it's 10:00, wtf? Cybots!!!!! 12pm, gotta go. Tonight was so hype 6 hours went by like nothing. Holy hell.

GGs Zeron. Been a while since we had matches, you're still a beast. I'll consistently get you one day. Too bad for GG. Poor netcode is poor. Lag wasn't good in BB either, but at least it was playable. I'll match you again sometime. :D

GG is definitely trickier. I actually think GG is easier to get into as a mash-y beginner than BB, though. The major difference is that BB tops out in complexity whereas GG's curve get exponential the higher you go in skill.

Couple combo Qs out of this newbie. Ok, so basic idea for a general combo relaunch is something like [stuff] (-> j.K ) -> j.2k -> j.K -> land -> relaunch move (I'm using 5H currently) -> continue air combo. My problem is that this doesn't seem to work midscreen as they are pushed out too far by the first j.2k -> j.K string. Any help? Another thing is combos on Johnny. For some reason it seems really easy to drop combos on this guy. Any tips? Thanks!

I'm already having some execution problems with those combos, lol. I can't do the 5h relaunch midscreen, though it works in the corner. On the other hand, most if not all of my combos now break 200 with barely a sweat. Wicked. I think I'll just head over to the Slayer forums now, so I don't slay this thread by going off-topic...

I won't be, unfortunately. Family stuff is planned starting this weekend until the 26th. I'll be there on Thursday, though.

The only combo I want to know day 1 is that 9k OD monster. The rest seems to be Slayer-looking-ish combos and mid-combo Zantetsu for dmg. Sit on stars, then blow them up for 4-5k+.

Just more advanced stuff than j.K -> j.2k -> j.K -> dj.K -> j.2k -> j.D for now because that's what I'm doing off everything, lol. Like, 2k -> 2h -> BBU -> 5h -> that combo. Or 5a AA -> that combo, etc. It's reliable, but I'm not getting all the dmg I should. I know some basic launchers like BBU, 5h (air hit), 2D RC, and AA normals like 5a and 2s, but that's it. And lol, if you can you get a 2-hit TK wakeup Chokka, I'm so going to practice that.

They aren't shit, the info is just all over the place and the only concession to newbies is that 101 thread. There's some really good info in there, it's just piecemeal and disorganized. While I like Slayer, I won't try fixing something I don't know anything about. That would just invite disaster.
