  1. yo real talk every us ragna competes with alternate timeline jiyuna when he quits bb in december also to be fair, i discovered that reset day 2 of console, not arcade (90% of my arcade days were flailing around not understanding what the hell i was doing).
  2. day 2 reset son
  3. thats only because the hitstun animation, compare it to in game, hes the same height.
  4. if hes running away, just hit him with spark volt when he back dashes/air dashes predictable :] even if you get it blocked, the magnetism should be enough to get you to mid range. you could also just start winning right off the bat, so he has to put some work into his offense. also if hes running away, he'll obviosuly get negative warning...
  5. tager: nu - 2.5 - 7.5 (there is a single consistent way to beat nu and that is very very slowly get her near a corner and then guess when she tries to escape it) arakune 2 - 8 (you ahve to get lucky on clouds to win, and then out play him on top of this) rachel 3 - 7 (generally bad matchup but you can actually out play her and win) jin 3 - 7 (same as above, jins air options rape tager) carl - 1 - 9 (i legitimately do not think this matchup is winnable without divine intervention once you play a carl that can consistently play intelligently and nail clap loop 100% you literally get 2 chances to kill a character with far better mobility and you cant even fucking combo him or use spark bolt outside of a combo) tao 3.5 - 6.5 (obnoxiously hard matchup, you are never at an advantage in terms of speed and priority, and you both do about equal damage) litchi - 4 - 6 (shitty mid range fight with staff, once litchi loses her staff the tempo swings to being even) ragna 4 - 6 (DP and jC are really all ragna has over tager) noel 4 - 6 (solid options to beat tagers consistently, tager can out guess her though) bang 4 - 6 (crossups, if tager gets momentum he stands a strong chance of winning, also a matchup where IB -> 720 is actually a consistent option besides litchi and ragna) hakumen 4.5 - 5.5 (tager cant recklessly attempt to get it and hakumen can maintain mid range until he has mad orbs, but until then hakumen sucks and tager has advatnage close range once hakumen blows orbs) i formed this opinion from fighting top usa players
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4t8cp5K45k worlds strongest tager
  7. im p sure only if you IB. otherwise its a 1-2f gap, since when you crouch block 5d -> b sledge, theres no hole.
  8. i think tager should earn magnetism
  9. 360a is not a reversal, you shouldnt really use it as such unless you have a damn good reason to. any attack active just as you are recovering will stuff 360a 100% of the time.
  10. im pretty ken-esque yea

  11. instant jB is really strong in this match, fyi. beats throws, hits him crouching (if its fuzzy guard)
  12. yep its a gimmick, a pretty funny one too. but if they expect that, you get a free collider combo so whatever
  13. not necessarily a bad thing, though seems weird that jin gets hit by it of all characters though, since hes super thin.
  14. early j.B is a solid option against fork, that said, its not the best option in the universe since 6a will beat early jB clean, so be careful. another option is simply whiff punishing it, if rachel is spamming it, that means they are out of range, usually something simple like a 5C or a spark bolt will punish it for free, depending on distance. if they are spamming it like 3/4 the screen away, use that opportunity to walk forward and gain positioning.
  15. the best way to make someone get hit by a 720 is make them terrified of the options that beat it. bait them and the second you notice them start blocking again, roll out a 720 setup.
  16. hey even i make mistakes and im willing to own up to them~
  17. litchi
  18. actually, you're right, you cant escape it. i actually thought you could do IB 720, but it seems like that only works if they try and frame trap with 5a, which loses to ib 720, if you just spam 5a really hard, tager wont do anything and remain blocking). ive never encountered a noel that outright spams 5a outside of the first 3 or so to bait a backdash. you typically want to not mash them anyway (so you can hitconfirm faster. if you mash it slower than 1st frame though, that's enough of a gap to 720. while i was wrong, it carries no risk on my end. the frame data in this game is fucking awful :/ i read it differently and my experiences told me otherwise but i tested it and was wrong!
  19. haha. also eric you didnt get me on sf4 and BB when i asked on srk. can you prereg me for those?
  20. ib 5a gives you enough time to 720. its not a guaranteed punish, but 5a 5a will lose to IB 720 since as long as there is at least a 1 frame gap where you can do the 720, the invincibility will take care of the rest.
  21. 4 or 6 to canal, walk down canal till you hit mott (facing the mcdonalds, take a left, walk along that side).
  22. id rather 720 after an IB, theres way more ways to counter spinny super if you're just doing string interruption. obviously you dont want to IB 720 if bangs going to do TK nails or something though. but if its 5 -> 2B or whatever, 720 ahoy. too bad ib 720 is hard enough offline, let alone xbox live. : (
  23. pretty much everything in that post is terrible advice except 6 which is situationally good advice because magna tech wheel actually beats i believe all variations of bangs teleports (im too lazy to check but it beats teleport far and behind i forgot the other one) in drive if he is magnetized and otherwise beats teleport behind you (720 loses to both teleports). it is seriously getting to the point where i think there are 5 people on dustloop actually qualified to give tager advice....
  24. 2d is a move that should be use in the following: gimmicks rare blockstring combos punish retards who still tech roll it has gallons of recovery frames and is so obscenely easy to whiff punish/counter on reaction you simply should avoid using it in most cases (there are times where its useful though) you might find it useful vs morons who but you can beat them in safer ways anyway... 2d in general is a pretty awful midscreen move.
