Since this concerns NorCal Blazblue... Thanks for the positive rep Coopa n' friends. So one of my latests epiphanies - in light of recent events - is that there's a lack of showcase for FGs not related to SF4. I, personally, owe a great deal to their community for showing me how to get stuff done. And, in return, I want to show that the BB community won't flake out like what happened in GG @ EVO. I've been busy up to my ass with real life, but I'm willing to put forth the effort to get this minor gig started. So where, you might ask, did I scrounge up the courage to plaster some random minor for a - so called - dead game? Because, more or less, "The games are HYPE and only a handful of people are playing them!" If you beg to differ, then I implore you to come to the NorCal Install GGAC/MBAA ranbats or the SVGL BBCS tournaments. In any case, the games that I want to feature in the minor are the following: - Blazblue Continuum Shift (Main Event) Singles 2v2 Teams 5v5 Team Exhibition (NorCal vs. SoCal) - Melty Blood AA Singles 2v2 Teams 5v5 Team Exhibition (NorCal vs. SoCal) - Guilty Gear AC Singles 2v2 Teams - Tekken 6 Singles 2v2 Teams - SSF4 Singles 2v2 Teams - ST Turbo Singles - PSX? Dreamcast? - Feedback please - SAILOR MOON 5v5 NORCAL VS. SOCAL EXHIBITION Potential Sponsors: - Aksys Games - Koogy 'IN DUST WE TRUST' :3 - Dustloop.com!!!??? :O If you want to see your game stay on EVO's roster; if you want NorCal to be known for fierce FG competition apart from the SF/Tekken/BB; if you want the mainstream FG community to not underestimate broken games; if you want that SAILOR MOON in the roster; if you think that this event is, downright, hype; then I ask - nay - demand that you voice your support for, NorCal INSTALL! Date Pending, but either; Last Weekend or First Weekend of August This minor will indicate the end of the first year's NorCal Install ranbats. After that, we'll be taking a break and resume when we first started the gig - November! As Gordon Ramsay would say, "Damn. I forgot rule #10. You're only as good as your last service."

As one who updates tournaments and post ranbat dates on my cellphone, I would - greatly - appreciate it.
-
Not unless...I COME!! >:3
-
as always, I will be late. :3

If anyone complains that an the R1 sticks were too heavy, then - by golly - go to the gym and lift some weights! O.o

That's good to know. In that case, I'd like you to handle the 2v2 team tournaments. If you all can get through singles by 5pm (lol wut), then get 2v2 organized and done by 8pm. And...I just found out that my sister's bday party is on May 1st...ffffffffffffffffffffff. This will be one tournament I, absolutely, must skip. Sorry guys, I'll spread the word, but I can't host it. Therefore, I put KatanaDash and Dakanya in charge of GGAC n' Tsubasa in charge of MBAA. I'll leave you to that gig Alex. We already have our hands full with three games. So I'll arrange a ST Turbo ranbat in June. Also, assuming we can get some rep from Aksys, we should look into securing bigger venues. This is where I ask the community to help step up their support...and hype! And, I will admit, I've been - rather - impressed at the dedication people are putting into to make these tournaments happen. We may not have a group size comparable to the ST community, but I'm glad I can count on you all to make things happens. Thanks.

:3 Anyways, I'll see you all at the 2v2...late!
-
Meh, just mash buttons :3

Okay, I took out that southwestarcade thing and put in...dustloop? O.o Edit: August will mark the end of our first year ranbat. Winners will get interviewed and sent on a trip to sleep with UMEHARA BA~SUTO YONDE!! Okay, in all honesty, August will be our last ranbat before we reset the standings...and I was serious about the interview part. If you are serious about hype, then I ask that you join me in my hunt for hotel venues...again! Edit: What do you guys think of an ST Turbo ranbat? Either that or HDR...:psyduck:nvm, forget what I said! :3
-
I don't think I've met anyone louder than Jiang and Oiboi. :3
-
Hooooooooooly crap. +100 hype. To clarify what Dabbit said, is it Pokemon or Waseda format? :o

T6 means that we will make use of unused setups. We had 3 TVs that were idle during our last tournament @ devry. Even then, we can solve that problem by bringing more setups. Everything is tentative; meaning, no two tournaments are going to start at the exact same time. I'm more concerned with the large amount of BO and people unwilling to bring TVs or what not. Seriously, these ranbats won't work without people stepping up and bringing equipment. Major thanks to you all. There won't be as many casual setups, but please note that I'm doing that so I can present our community to hotel venues. If we can present a local scene, then it'll give me more leeway to say, "hey, we have. 100+ people and they're willing to rent some hotel space." I need a catalyst big enough to give a legit reason to the hotel sales associates...Cause this stuff is going to come out of my own pocket. Long story short, it's time for a change. Edit: Sorry if this post didn't make any sense. I was posting from my phone. In any case, I'm just testing out something new. I just realized that the first week of May is also another crunch week. In the event that I can't host the tournament, would Dakanya be able to fill in my shoes again? :3
-
That's why we're putting them on the big chairs and sofas. ANYWAYS, check the first page. LOADS of new updates.
-
I had the vision to establish those three scenes in Nor Cal because they're the - most - undermined. I thought Tekken was doing well, but they haven't had anything consistent happening apart from Derrick's office gatherings. Then again, I don't know very much about the scene. I'm only going off of what Mr. Derrick has been telling me. But, to summarize all of that in a nutshell, this to pave the way for the BBCS console tournament & friends. :3 Oh yeah, and here's the Devry Ranbat setup. It's similar to the last tournament...with something removed. :3
-
Also, if we host the T6 ranbats, then we might be getting some of the top players in the West Coast: Jimmy (aka Emphy), Bronson, Will, JT, Andy QDogg.
-
So I talked with JT and Derrick. They expressed a willingness to join in on the ranbat festivities. So T6 is now, officially, in addition to our MB/GGAC ranbats. Their community is 20+ people, but considering how many unused setups there were last time at Devry, it's not a big deal. If you don't like it, then don't come. Edit: Also, mark your calenders for August 7th & 8th. We're going to be adding BBCS to the venue. When we do, we're going to upgrade to a hotel.

Can I assume that there's a ping pong table in the middle of the room? D:
-
MGL sticks feel very loose and bouncy. SVGL sticks are a little better and, apart from Mr. Squishy, there's cool people that show up. j/k we love you Jared...maybe. The only good thing about MGL is that they have a bomb pizza place next door. So I guess we're going to Devry for the next GG/MB ranbat. Also, I hear that the ping pong table is no more! 8D
-
I'm going to extend the invitations to the tekken community. Derrick has been opening up his office for weekly sessions. The only reason why I'm doing this is to prep up for Nor Cal's minor to come.
-
Anyways, it looks like we're going to Devry next time. Thanks to GGJ for keeping the venue open. We'll be bringing deodorant and air fresheners. Edit: I was thinking about putting T6 in the ranbat venue. But will you all be okay with that?
