I live in Burlingame so I'll be around. I think a bunch of us are planning on stopping by GC but dunno for how long. @mayftw: I actually don't play Race, though I am often told I should. I actually have the nitroplus version of dominion from Japan, I'll probably be bringing that.

Accent Core +R LOKETEST CHANGE LIST Thread
brett_ replied to Spirit Juice's topic in Guilty Gear General
scott/david: some johnny changes here, mainly from varied loketest reports. I've added in some TL'd info from the wiki while I was at it, for your convenience. Up Coin: Cannot be combo'd after throw. If performed after 2D, lands perfectly on them as they wake up. Regarding the Divine Blade Transport changes (Divine Blade itself is the same): Now moves with an extremely vertical trajectory. The horizontal space covered is around 1 character width. No changes on Divine Blade itself. Air Super: Can be blocked on reaction after super flash, and seems to be an overhead(?). More recovery than the EX version (?), but knocks down on hit, and can be followed up with an FRC'd mist to force block, even midscreen. Mist Finer lvl 1 low: Now floats on hit, will combo into up-coin (presumably if you coin'd in advance). Cannot combo off of it even if you RC. EDIT: also david, from what I've heard regarding zappas dog delay change, I originally actually only saw the change posted with regards to getting it summoned when he got hit, so it sounds likely that it also works when you get the dog from being hit -
It's now a very vertical trajectory - nearly straight up. The total horizontal distance covered from start to finish is about 1 character width. This is a change to Divine Blade Transport; the actual DB itself is identical. Sounds harder to use for stuff like mf lvl 2 high > coin > db knockdown, or any of the corner one hit setups using it, but it could be quite interesting. In particular, I wonder if Johnny flies at a really crazy angle if it's FRC'd ... :D Some other JO changes I am not sure if I saw posted up: -You cannot combo throw into up coin -2d > up coin is perfectly spaced so it falls on top of them (when they wake up). Sounds like venom k-ball tier amazing. -his new super can be blocked high on reaction after the superflash Up coin (or rose coin, or high coin, or whatever) seems pretty ridiculous. In the corner, it sounds like it could be used like VE's H carcusto shut down air-based escapes (in addition to other uses). Also, like normal coin, it probably hits even if Johnny gets hit. Unless they read it and do something like BBU / TE 2h, it sounds like a pretty favorable option with little risk (aside from spending the coin). Add in the fact that you can always do normal coin instead. Not to mention probably be amazing for combos. A bit curious about that note Elven Shadow mentioned with the up coin knocking down on air hit: does that mean it's untechable? Or does it cause plummet or something? Kind of curious exactly what that means. If you can do some shit like MF lvl 2 high > up coin > 5H > mist (coin hits into KD) I would laugh.

according to http://ggxx.jugem.jp/?eid=606#sequel 2d might have gotten shorter and possibly slower startup, but floats higher, so 2D chargecancel c.S worked vs May (no CH business mentioned, so I assume on normal hit 2d)

cant wait to get back to norcal and participate in danisen :D

it's better to think of it like parry rather than blocking. It's easily baited, puts you at minus frames, drains boost, and stops you in your tracks. Unlike normal fighting games, it's something you only do as a last resort. As a beginner its better to sidestep or boost almost all the time. learning to use guard generally comes alongside getting used to the game.

confirmed for going, will be bringing at least 1 game setup, and streaming equipment.

Dogfight @ Evo2k12? Let's do this.
-
that banner doesn't look like it has the right dimensions for twitch.
-
is there really a paid version tari? links?
-
that's why i asked - there's a difference between a watermark and a logo. I was probably going to end up doing a twitch layout / banner design for the page, if i have time, but you guys didn't really decide on a name till recently, so I dunno if I can finish something before the 28th - we'll see. for score / name overlays, if you want to be lazy just use Starboard or various other starcraft 2 overlays (put over a solid background and alpha channel out in twitch. it makes it much easier to update names / scores rather than editing titles or constantly fumbling through .txt polling files. there are some versions that look pretty minimalistic, I think. google around a bit and you should find some stuff, if you're interested in that process. I wasn't expecting there to be a need for an actual overlay for gundam - what did you have in mind for using it for? displaying gamecenter / sponsor logos? or were you guys going to incorperate a player cam or two? I might have time to make this kind of stuff but I'd need to get some detailed information about what'sneeded.

by logo do you mean watermark?
-
if you meant to call yourself a zako then it would make sense and also not be a typo.

^ is this a troll post?

I can't make it to the april one, but if there is one in may or early june I might be able to come if I can find out early enough.

Sums up my thoughts regarding SNCI:

@Blade: If BBCSEX, GGAC back in the day, etc was 100 USD would that stop you from buying it? I am quite tempted to say if you're that concerned about price you shouldn't bother buying it. You really won't get much out of this game unless you have some enthusiasm. I see plenty of people (some from this thread even) talking up a storm about how they cant wait for this game or what not, then end up just quitting after a while because they don't have the motivation to seek out matches despite several lively streamers and multiple communities (not to mention a tourney scene). People who live outside of WC or Canada often just cry about being red bar with japan and getting no games. And even within the realm of yellow bar to japan (WC), some people still cry and quit after being unable to reach bronze1/2 on netplay :/. So yeah, just suck it up and skip some meals, it aint going down in price any time soon. With regards to playing a 3k: Playing 3K is actually not a big problem. It's true that you carry more "weight" on the team due to your cost, but taking damage is actually the least troublesome when you're 3K. As 3K you're pretty much always the designated front player, so it's to be expected that you take damage. Even if you dont succeed in accomplishing much, you're creating openings for your partner. In addition, 3Ks are the easiest cost to manage extreme meter activation timings, because it's very easy to get your 3 half-activates. Wing's activation timing is a little more subtle, but with regards to 3K's in general its pretty accurate. Also, 3K's are the best suits for dying first (a common problem new players suffer). Dying before your partner as a 3K is almost always the optimal order, no matter your partners cost. The same cannot be said of 2K, the other beginner-friendly cost value, where dying first can pretty much throw the game a lot of the time due to overcost. I'm not saying 3K is a better starting choice than 2K, but you really shouldn't be worried about being a burden. Honestly I feel much more comfortable having a lackluster front player than a lackluster back player. From an RTS perspective, you could say the front player does more of the micro, while the back player does more of the macro play (its much more complicated than this in actuality, but anyways...). In many ways, the responsibilities of the back player are equivalent, or even more demanding than the back player. Many players like tenkai and lark played a lot of front player high cost business while learning, and they're doing quite fine. Mobility and boost more than make up for any kind of lack of cost efficiency. 2.5k is also a pretty unrecommended cost to learn, but better that than 1K I suppose. burst timing and death timing is not really beginner friendly with that cost value. With regards to w0: Honestly its range is QUITE sufficient for what it is. If you even attempted to fire it farther than that, it wouldn't work regardless. So yes the actual GUIDANCE on the beam itself is mediocre. It's a fucking gerobi. However, the actual TRACKING during the startup of the move is actually quite amazing, one of the best in the game. It's for that reason his BR is often considered terrifying at close range, and part of the reason why complaining about its range is foolish. Because we all wish we had a gerobi that had instant startup. It's true that the startup does take a while (or rather, due to the way the beam's active frames work, it can't be bd cancelled immediately for the full effect), but if you just think of it as a gerobi rather than a traditional BR, I don't really see how you can complain. BR itself is not the problem. So how does wing win at all then? On a serious note, if you're saying this, you could also say the same about Cherudim's BR. It sounds like you're just flying around mashing BR at people in the air or something. People seem to forget what landing punishes are. His floatyness is actually not a disadvange. It's better to think of it as a doube-edged sword. While you may be susceptible to opponents sneaking a landing off and then punishing you, Wing's mobility gives him a very clear edge in the boost war. You can't really discuss Wing's float without talking about his mobility. His floatiness is what gives him his boost efficiency... Overall, while Wing Zero isn't considered a good 3k suit, it's actually pretty beginner-friendly. Or rather, it's very good at helping new players understand real game fundamentals. That is because the primary way Wing Zero deals damage is via landing punishes, or the threat of them (on a basic level). Pick a suit like unicorn and you might end up not understanding why your shit doesnt hit anyone later on. Wing Zero is actually one of the most brain-dead suits in the game, particularly] at low level. Press A, and AC sometimes. You don't even need to know how to use BC until you get above 1.2k SP. The rest is understanding how to read boosts, match angle, and defend. This suit will force you to learn how to landing punish one way or another, which is pretty healthy for your early growth in preventing some common bad habits. Gunner Zaku is considered pretty damn mediocre, but is practically S tier in america for the same damn reason: basic gameplan. Press A. troll a bit. AC. Summon Shin. Reading this thread I wasn't sure whether I was reading posts by people who don't play Wing at all, or people who play wing poorly and want to complain.

Can I include "work experience with children" as part of my resume now?
-
inorite. On a serious note, I how many people realized I was making an analogy very relevant to NCI... >Dakanya's Post

Since I don't actually ever do anything useful, I'll atleast repost this because no one seems to be reading it. It's the only way I can help from the moon.

You don't become a top player just by practicing! You gotta pretend to be a top player and act like one! Otherwise you'll never become a top player! I think we have a word for those kinds of people.

i wonder why dustloop stopped sending me updates on this thread o_O. in any case, it's honestly probably easier and cheaper to just buy four splitters, and send a split HDMI connection from each setup into a feed switcher, and just use the switcher change perspectives. one setup, one capture card. provided such a switcher exists, this sounds like the cheaper option. OR clearly we should just buy a real EXVS setup and reverse engineer and make our own proxy server >_> In other news, I'm currently in the process of working on the individual suit pages on my wiki, but the going is quite slow, obviously. Anyone who wants to contribute should PM me and I can give them access to contribute. I basically realized you can copy the source HTML from the wiki and paste it into googlesites and all the nice tables and coloring will be preserved, which was the biggest thing preventing me from attempting this earlier. As you can see, the red lock range charge has already been added to the wiki.
